Chapter 112 The Worst Is Yet To Come

Chapter 112 The Worst Is Yet To Come
Adrain

My fingers tightened around the steering wheel as I drove along the empty road.

Darkness stretched across the land, broken only by the weak beams of my headlights and the occasional shadows of trees lining the narrow road.

A few minutes later, I pulled the car onto the side of the road and switched off the engine.

For a brief moment, I sat behind the wheel, staring through the windshield. In the distance, beyond the thick line of trees, stood the factory.

The Draven Factory.

Even from here, I could see the faint glow of security lights surrounding the massive building.

For years, I had imagined this moment.

And now…

It was finally here.

I reached for the black hoodie on the passenger seat and pulled it over my head. The hood came down low, hiding most of my face.

The cold night air brushed against my face the moment I stepped out. I shoved my hands into the pockets of my hoodie and started walking.

The shortcut through the trees was familiar. I had studied the area enough to know exactly where the path led.

The factory sat beyond the trees, surrounded by a high fence and guarded heavily throughout the night.

The workers had all gone home by this late hour.

That was exactly why I had chosen it.

I slowed as the factory fully came into view. The same building that had helped build the Draven family's fortune for generations stood proudly beneath the night sky.

To everyone else in Bleeding Rose, it might have looked like nothing more than an industrial building.

To me, it was a symbol of everything they had taken from me.

Without warning, my mother's face flashed through my mind.

Her smile.

Her voice.

The final moments I had with her before Lady Ravenna murdered her in cold blood.

I quickly forced the memories back down. Without hesitation, I crouched behind the trees and began watching the guards.

Two stood near the main entrance.

Another walked slowly along the perimeter, guarding the opposite side of the building.

I waited until the guard near the perimeter turned his back before picking up a stone from the ground. With a sharp motion, I threw it deep into the bushes.

CRASH!

The guards immediately turned toward the sound.

“What was that?”

All three rushed toward the trees, their attention completely focused on the disturbance.

I didn't waste a second.

I slipped from behind the trees and hurried toward the factory, disappearing through the nearest entrance before they could look back.

I moved deeper into the building, keeping my footsteps as quiet as possible. The further I went, the darker the factory became.

Rows of machinery stood silently beneath the dim emergency lights, their metal surfaces covered in a thin layer of dust.

I stopped when I reached the main production floor, my eyes sweeping across the room.

This was it.

Endless years of waiting had brought me here.

I pulled the small ignition device from my pocket and activated it. For a moment, nothing happened.

Then flames suddenly erupted from the machinery nearby. Within seconds, smoke began filling the room as fire spread rapidly across the factory floor.

I stepped backward, watching the flames grow.

This is for everything they took from me.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of my lips as another section of the factory caught fire. Orange flames danced across the walls, swallowing the darkness around them.

Instinctively, I took a step backward.

The sight should have frightened me. Instead, a strange warmth settled inside my chest.

I turned and moved quickly but calmly through the same route I had entered. By the time I reached the exit, the smoke had already begun thickening behind me.

I slipped through the opening and disappeared into the trees. The bushes near the road concealed me completely as I dropped behind them and crouched.

A few seconds passed.

“FIRE!”

The scream ripped through the night as one of the guards came rushing toward the factory.

Another followed close behind.

“Fire! Call for help!”

The guards began moving frantically. One ran toward the entrance while the other stood frozen for a moment, staring at the growing glow behind the windows.

The flames were spreading rapidly now, smoke pouring from every corner of the massive building.

“Call the fire department!”

“We need to inform Alpha Varkos!”

“Move!”

Slowly, I raised my head.

A strange warmth spread across my face as I watched the flames grow. The first piece of the Draven Empire was burning before my eyes.

A few minutes passed before I lowered my head, allowing the hood to hide my face.

Then I slowly rose from my hiding place and turned toward the bushes. I took a few steps toward the road before stopping and glancing back over my shoulder.

The flames had grown enormous, reaching toward the night sky.

“Burn…” The word barely left my lips. “Burn down everything those bastards have built.”

For the first time in years, I felt something I thought I would never feel again.

Satisfaction.

My revenge was no longer a thought.

It had become real.

And Varkos didn't even know.

A cruel smile curved across my lips.

He was probably somewhere sleeping peacefully.

Completely unaware that his world had already begun to crumble.

Before the guards could notice me, I pulled my hood lower and walked toward the road. Behind me, their frantic voices continued to echo through the night.

Eventually, I reached where I had parked my car. Before opening the door, I looked back one final time.

The factory was still burning.

Poor Varkos.

When the time finally came for him to discover who had been behind it all…

There would be nothing he could do to stop me.

I slipped inside my car and started the engine. As the car pulled away, my eyes remained fixed on the road ahead.

Lady Ravenna.

She was next.

I would kill right in front of Varkos’s eyes, the same way she had murdered my mother.

This time, I wouldn’t let anyone stand in my way.

Let’s see if Varkos can stop me now.
