Chapter 42 Kidnapped

Chapter 42 Kidnapped
Lena’s POV

Pain. That was the first thing I felt when consciousness slowly returned.
Pain everywhere.

My head throbbed violently while every part of my body ached like I had been thrown against concrete repeatedly.
I groaned softly and forced my eyes open.
A cold room.

For a second, panic didn’t fully register yet.
Then I tried moving. And realized I couldn’t.
My wrists were bound tightly above my head with glowing silver ropes wrapped around my body and ankles.

The moment my skin brushed against them, burning pain shot through me.
I gasped sharply.

Silver. Of course.

I swallowed hard and forced myself to breathe slowly.

Think. Think, Lena. What happened?

The memory hit me in fragments.
My stomach twisted violently.
I’d been kidnapped.
Fear crawled slowly through my chest now as I looked around the room again.

Nobody was there. Just silence. I tested the ropes carefully again and winced immediately as silver burned against my skin.

Definitely werewolf restraints. Strong ones too.
My healing ability was already working overtime beneath my skin, but the silver kept slowing it down painfully.

I gritted my teeth.
Okay. Panicking wouldn’t help. I needed a way out.

Slowly, I glanced around the room again searching for literally anything useful.
Nothing.
No windows. One metal door.
No weapons. No escape routes.

I exhaled shakily and leaned my head back against the wall.

Calm down. There has to be something.

I tugged harder against the restraints again. Pain exploded through my arms.
“Damn it”

The ropes didn’t move. My chest tightened with frustration. I was trapped.
And suddenly, something strange happened.

A sharp heat rushed violently through my chest. The same heat from earlier. The same unstable energy. My breathing hitched.

No. Not now.

The ropes suddenly trembled.
I froze.
Then with a loud snapping sound, the silver restraints shattered completely.
I fell hard onto the floor.

For a second, I just stared at the broken ropes in complete shock.
My heartbeat thundered loudly in my ears.

Did… Did I do that?

My hands trembled slightly as I pushed myself up slowly. No normal werewolf could break silver restraints.
Not that easily.

Fear curled tightly in my stomach again.
What exactly was happening to me?
But this wasn’t the time.

I forced myself to move quickly toward the door before whoever kidnapped me returned.

The metal door creaked slightly as I pulled it open and immediately froze.
Two men stood directly outside.
Huge. Dressed completely in black.

Their eyes widened slightly the moment they saw me standing there untied.
“Well,” one muttered. “That’s not good.”

Panic slammed through me instantly.
I reacted without thinking. I punched the closest one directly in the face. Hard.

The man stumbled backward with a curse while the second lunged toward me immediately. I ducked beneath his arm and slammed my elbow into his ribs.
He grunted loudly.

The first man recovered quickly and grabbed my arm roughly.
I twisted hard and kicked him backward.
He crashed into the wall.

But the second man grabbed me from behind immediately.
“Hold her down!”

I struggled violently.
Everything exploded together inside me.
And suddenly, that heat returned.
Stronger this time.

My vision sharpened unnaturally. Every sound became louder. The man restraining me stiffened suddenly. Because my eyes had changed again.
Red.

“What the hell…” one of them whispered.

My control snapped. Something dark pushed violently beneath my skin.
I could feel it trying to break free.
And honestly? That terrified me more than the kidnappers.

The air around me suddenly felt charged.
The walls trembled slightly.
Both men looked genuinely panicked now.
“She’s losing control!”

“I can see that!”

I screamed as the burning sensation spread through my entire body. Everything around me blurred violently.
I couldn’t stop it. Couldn’t control it.

And then… a sharp sting pierced the back of my neck. Pain shot through me instantly. I gasped weakly.

My body suddenly went numb.
The strength drained from my limbs almost immediately.

The world tilted sideways.
Darkness swallowed me before I could fight back.

When I woke up again, I felt weaker.
My arms were tied tightly to a chair now with heavier restraints wrapped across my chest and legs.

My head pounded painfully.
Whatever they injected into me… It worked. I forced my blurry vision into focus slowly. Same room.

The two men stood nearby watching me carefully now. And sitting directly across from me, was someone else.
A man. Completely dressed in black too.

His face hidden beneath shadows. The room remained silent for a few seconds.
Then he finally spoke.
Except… His voice sounded distorted.
Electronic. Artificial.
Like he was deliberately hiding his real voice.

Fear slowly twisted inside my chest again.
But strangely… anger burned hotter.
I laughed weakly.

The man tilted his head slightly.
“That’s amusing to you?”

I lifted my gaze toward him coldly.
“No,” I said hoarsely. “You’re amusing.”

Silence.
“You hide your face.”
I smirked bitterly despite the pain.
“And your voice.”

The two guards tensed slightly.
I held the man’s gaze anyway.
“Coward.”

The room went completely still.
For one second, I thought maybe I’d pushed too far. But the man simply leaned back calmly. Completely unaffected.
“You possess something extraordinary,” he said instead.

I rolled my eyes weakly.
“Wow. Mysterious kidnapping speeches already?”

He ignored that.
“A rare hybrid power.”

My stomach tightened immediately.
The man folded his hands together calmly.
“Power capable of restoring balance to the supernatural world,” he continued.
Then his distorted voice darkened slightly.
“Or destroying it entirely.”

A cold chill crawled down my spine. I stared at him.
“What do you want from me?”

The man remained silent briefly before answering.
“Your power.”

Fear wrapped tighter around my chest.
“You’re insane.”

“Perhaps.”

I clenched my fists against the restraints.
“You’re not getting anything from me.”

The man’s head tilted slightly again.
“You misunderstand your situation.”

“My friends will find me,” I snapped immediately.

Adrian. Zara. Raphael.
Someone had to notice I was gone.
Right?

The man laughed softly.
The sound echoed unnaturally through the distorted voice device.
“No one is coming for you.”

My heartbeat quickened.

“You don’t understand what you are yet,” he continued calmly.
“But I do.”

The air in the room suddenly felt colder.
More dangerous.
“You carry power that others would start wars for.”

My breathing became uneven again.
Fear mixed violently with anger now.
“I’ll never help you.”

The man stood slowly from his chair.
The guards immediately straightened beside him.

Then he stepped closer.
“Even if I have to kill you to get it,” he said quietly, “I will.”
