Chapter 233 233
Chapter 233 233
~ Jason ~
“Jason, you need to come over here immediately!”
Marcus’s voice exploded through the phone speaker.
I straightened slightly, a bad feeling settling in my stomach.
“What happened?” I asked, my voice turning serious. “Tell me.”
“Jasmine and I followed Kiara after she was thrown away from her house,” Marcus said quickly, his voice tight with worry. “Right now, both of them are inside a local bar and they’re drunk.”
I shot up from my seat so fast my chair scraped violently across the floor and fell backward.
“What do you mean you let that happen?” I snapped. “Send me the location. Now. I’m on my way.”
I ended the call without waiting for a reply.
For hours, I had been trying to reach Kiara. Her phone was off. No calls. No messages.
Guilt hit me like a punch to the chest.
I should have gone after her. I should have stopped avoiding her at school.
Instead, I left her alone when she needed me the most.
I’m so sorry, Kiara, I thought miserably. Please… don’t hate me.
There was no time to waste.
I rushed out of the pack house, keeping my head down so no one would notice the panic on my face as I quickly sneaked out.
There was no point in driving a car through the heavy traffic and wet streets. Every second mattered.
The moment my feet hit the damp grass outside, I let my human form slip away.
Bone and muscle shifted beneath my skin as I transformed into my wolf.
In seconds, I was gone.
I launched forward, claws tearing into the earth, sprinting full speed toward the coordinates Marcus had sent.
I tore through the alleys and reached Marcus just in time.
The moment I stopped, I shifted back into my human form and gasped for breath, my chest burning.
“Where are they?” I demanded, my eyes darting around frantically.
Marcus pointed toward the bar.
“They’re still inside.”
We started moving toward the entrance.
But just as we got closer, the heavy glass doors swung open.
Jasmine and Kiara stumbled out onto the damp pavement.
They were both clearly tipsy, leaning heavily on each other just to stay upright.
Jasmine pointed at a rat, and both of them burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny about a rat?” I whispered to Marcus as we stood a short distance away, watching them.
“Maybe we should go ask them,” Marcus teased, a small smile tugging at his lips.
I rolled my eyes.
But before they could take another step, movement burst out from the shadows.
A group of large, dangerous-looking men stepped into the dim light.
One by one, they formed a tight circle around them.
Marcus and I stepped closer, our muscles tense, waiting to see what would happen next.
“Kill them both, and don’t let either of them escape.” A sharp, angry voice commanded from the darkness.
I spun around toward the sound, and my eyes widened in complete shock. Behold, it was Kendra!
The men kept moving closer to my girls, their fists clenched and their eyes full of intent.
Seeing them step toward Kiara and my sister felt like something inside me snapped.
I didn’t care how many of them there were.
“If anyone touches a single hair on their heads, I’ll kill you all myself!”
My voice roared through the street as I stepped into the open space between the thugs and the girls.
I glanced over my shoulder at Marcus.
“Marcus, get them out of here. Now!”
Marcus didn’t hesitate. He rushed forward immediately, moving past the men to shield Jasmine and Kiara.
One of the thugs stepped forward with a nasty smirk.
“If you interfere now, boy,” he sneered, “we’ll kill you too.”
Before I could respond, Kendra stepped out from behind them.
Her eyes locked onto mine.
“Jason,” she said coldly, “come to me right now, and I’ll let your sister go. I’ll only deal with Kiara.”
My fists tightened so hard my nails dug into my palms.
The anger in my chest burned hot.
“Kendra,” I said through gritted teeth, “I swear this won’t end here. You will be punished for this.”
I took a step forward.
“You didn’t just try to hurt Kiara… you threatened the Moon pack Alpha’s daughter.”
My voice dropped lower.
“That alone is a serious crime. And you’re going to pay for it.”
Before I could finish my sentence, the first guy lunged at me.
I ducked under his wild swing and drove my fist hard into his stomach. As he doubled over, I brought my knee up into his head with a sharp crack.
He hit the wet pavement instantly.
Two more thugs rushed me at once.
I caught one of their hands mid-air, gripping their wrist and twisting it sharply until they screamed in pain and dropped to their knees.
Marcus joined in without hesitation.
He moved fast, throwing clean, powerful punches and kicks beside me.
Within minutes, the sidewalk turned into chaos—groaning bodies scattered across the wet ground, with far more men down than standing.
Suddenly, a loud, terrified scream echoed from behind me.
I whipped my head around instantly, my heart dropping as I braced myself for the worst.
Instead, I saw Gab.
He had a tight grip on a thug who had been trying to sneak up on me from behind. With one swift, brutal motion, he twisted the man’s leg, forcing him to the ground.
Behind Gab, a small squad of our pack warriors stepped into the light.
They moved quickly, sweeping in to restrain the remaining men still scattered on the pavement.
I blinked in shock, wiping sweat from my forehead.
“Gab… how on earth did you find us?”
“That’s because I saw you leave the pack house in a panic, so I followed you,” Gab said simply, tightening his grip on the man before forcing him fully to the ground.
He straightened up and turned to the pack warriors, his expression cold and commanding.
“Take all of them to the pack cells. They’ll be punished for attempting to harm my brother and sister.”
The warriors nodded at once, hauling the groaning men to their feet and dragging them into the darkness.
Kendra tried to slip away into a nearby alley, but two warriors stepped in front of her instantly, grabbing her arms before she could move.
Her whole body shook violently, her knees nearly giving way beneath her.
“Please… have mercy on me. I didn’t come up with this idea. A strange man told me to do it,” Kendra cried.
“Which strange man?” I asked sharply.
“I think I know who it is,” Gab said, his eyes narrowing as he looked at me. “It’s definitely Lucious.”
My jaw tightened.
“But you still did it anyway,” I said to her coldly.
I turned to the warriors. “Take her to the pack cells.”
Without another word, I turned my back on her.
“We need to go home right now,” Gab said, turning to look at me. The seriousness in his eyes made my stomach twist. “Mom and Dad are already furious.”
We walked over to where Jasmine and Kiara were slumped against Marcus.
“Marcus, you can go home. We’ll handle the rest,” Gab said firmly.
Marcus gave a quick nod.
Together, we carefully lifted the two unconscious, drowsy girls and carried them all the way back home.
The moment we stepped through the front doors of the pack house, the heavy air hit us.
Mom and Dad were already standing in the living room, their expressions dark with anger.
We didn’t say a word.
We carried the girls upstairs and laid them gently on Jasmine’s bed, then quietly made our way back down.
Now we stood in the living room, silent and tense, waiting for the final decision about Kiara.
“Jason, we need to talk about Kiara,” Dad said, his Alpha voice echoing through the walls.
I nodded quickly, my hands trembling slightly.
I had been waiting for this moment… but I was terrified.
“Your mom and I have already come to a final conclusion,” Dad said, staring straight at me.
I stood in the center of the room, holding my breath.
I was already bracing myself for whatever outcome was coming next.
