Chapter 68 - Rejected by My Best Friend & Alpha
SARAH'S POV
"Why aren't we letting them come to us?" Zeke asked, staring down at the paper I held in my hands.
I crumpled the sheet with the scribbles of Blackmoon's mapped compound. I knew the place by heart, so it wasn't doing me much good anyway. "Can you just shut up? I know what I'm doing."
"If the pack knew I was letting you call the shots, it would hurt my cred as Alpha."
I rolled my eyes. "Because you're such a wonderful Alpha in their eyes."
"Hey, I am. I got rid of that murderer, Vivian."
I started rubbing my temples. "Right, you did. Good job, Zekey. But listen, this is super important stuff here, and I know Blackmoon better than you do, so it's best if you just let me handle the logistics. If we let them take the offensive, we're at a disadvantage."
"Got it. I've never been to war before; I guess it's all these nerves."
I patted the spot on the bed next to me. "Sit down, Zekey."
He quickly sat down, looking at me. "I just can't wait for things to go back to normal so we can go back to normal and we don't have to worry about Blackmoon and Vivian anymore."
I patted his head. "Soon. Once they're gone, we don't have to worry about anything. For a while."
"For a while?"
I tapped my lips. "There's a certain wood bitch that used to annoy me I want to take care of."
"Wood bitch?"
"Don't worry about it. I'll handle it."
He nodded. "Okay. Can we fool around now?"
I sighed. He was incorrigible. "Let me get you something to drink."
I went over to the mini-bar in the room, grabbing a glass. I also grabbed a small powder packet in a small box beside the glasses. I didn't bother hiding them. Zeke saw me grab them. "Do I need my vitamins right now?"
I smiled. "Of course you do, silly."
Every time I didn't feel like sleeping with Zeke or giving him attention, I just added some crushed herbs, boom, and he was the one sleeping. He was convinced it was vitamins, so I didn't need to be discreet about putting them in his drinks. I mixed the herbs in and brought him his glass.
He looked at the glass before taking it. He tipped his head back, chugging the drink. I smiled as he handed me the glass, watching him wipe his mouth. "Good boy."
He stretched, the herbs fast acting. "I'm going to lay down a second. Then we'll get to that fooling around."
He crawled on the bed, pulling the pillow under his head. Within seconds, he was out like a light. Excellent, no creepy touching. Back to planning my next move.

KILLIAN'S POV
"So why did you go to Vivian's room last night?"
Chris didn't flinch when I came up behind him, watching Vivian train with Sylvara. She was doing remarkable. She was like a whole new person at this point. Stronger, faster, more powerful. "Why were you watching her room?"
"I was walking by."
"Sure you were, creep."
"You're going to her room in the middle of the night."
He smirked. "Did you notice the part where she let me in?"
I clenched my fist. "Or you forced your way inside. Maybe I should ask her about that."
"Go ahead. But Vivid doesn't like to kiss and tell."
I grabbed his shirt, pulling him close, ready to punch him in the face when we were both suddenly flung through the air. Crashing to the ground, I looked up to see Vivian across the field, glaring at both of us. "You both need to get a grip right now and stop distracting me."
I looked over at Chris, sitting up, brushing himself off. He shot me another smirk as he stood up. "Yeah, Killian. Get a grip."
"You better watch it."
He winked. I lunged at him again, but another force was knocking me to the ground with Vivian yelling, "Knock it off, Kill!"
Damn it. He was goading me. Chris laughed. "You're too easy."
I watched him turn, whistling as he walked away. I couldn't wait until Vivian left him in the dust for me.

VIVIAN'S POV
"Your lover boys seem to be upset about something, wolf girl," Sylvara said, smirking.
I shrugged. "They're always upset when they're around each other."
"Do you think it's because you haven't told them what's in your heart?"
I turned to her, seeing her eyeing me. "What do you mean?"
"You've already made your decision, haven't you?"
I chewed my lip. "No, not yet."
"But your heart has."
I shook my head. "No."
She smirked at me. "I see. Or maybe you don't."
"Let's get back to training."
I heard a vine ripping towards me, turning to snap it away just in time. She was good about trying to catch me off guard. But I was getting better and better. She hadn't hit me all day. "Good job. Now, there's something else I wanted to ask you about."
"What's that?"
"How many know that you're an Alpha?"
I looked around, making sure that no one was to hear her. "Not really anyone."
"Good. Then your true potential can go unnoticed."
"What do you mean?"
"You need to tap into your that. You need to feel what it's like to be in control. To feel that aura, to command."
I groaned. "Why can't you ever just give me an easy assignment? I don't know anything about feeling like an Alpha."
"Just close your eyes."
I closed my eyes. Trying to feel what she was talking about. But it felt nothing different than I did a moment ago. I just felt like a regular old me. This wasn't helping. "Yeah, nothing."
"Feel the command of your presence."
I dug deeper, imagining myself pressing myself outward, demanding obedience. I felt a twitch. I pushed at that twitch and kept pushing. The twitching grew until it was a vibration, humming in my body. I opened my eyes slowly, looking down at my hands. My hands were blazing with red fire. I stared at Sylvara in shock, who was grinning. "I think your Alpha is angry."
I grinned back at her. "I think you're right."
