Chapter 31 Lay Your Life
"So, we were wrong about it being Peace... it was actually Life." Phuture stared down at Life's body in the infirmary bed. She rested peacefully asleep with a damaged soul after battling Valeur on the way to her parents. "Valeur's here... she said they encountered him before she arrived."
Terrance and Willie Lou were the only two accompanying her in the medical room, a helpless mute of silence spoke loudly in the room.
"Life is alive, and she came here to help us leave." Terrance said. "We'll give her time to recover in a healing orb; she'll be fine in about a week..."
Willie Lou was astonished by the young lady they called Life, but she noticed Life appeared to be in her early thirties.
That triggered her to ask questions, where she would learn that divinity caused her to age significantly different than humans.
She spoke with Terrance in conversations about divinity causing beings to age faster and remain in their primes for much longer than normal.
"How old is she?" Willie Lou questioned. "How does your aging system work?"
"It doesn't." Phuture answered, still staring down at her daughter. "We have a big family... and all of them aged fairly quickly... even I still appear to be in my thirties. It's just the way of The Divine."
Willie Lou nodded her head while in deep thought, she asked. "So the baby girl you just gave birth to before transmigration... how old does she appear?"
"She's gotta be a teenager by now, but sometimes we age differently based on our spiritual prowess."
Willie Lou shook her head appallingly at the thought of a newborn teenager, then she dismissed herself from the conversation by walking out the door.
Terrance and Phuture met eyes, equally uneasy and devastated about their daughter's injuries.
Phuture wanted to use her divine life energy to heal her daughter and also wondered why Life couldn't use her own divine life energy.
She asked, still frowning while glaring into Terrance's eyes. "Why can't Life restore her injured soul?"
"She's too injured... it seems she used her last bit of energy to reach you." Terrance answered, he wrapped both arms around Phuture to pull her in tightly for a hug. "I'm sorry, but she's gonna pull through her injuries. We gotta remain focused... we're almost done with this war. We can maintain more of our focus on returning home when this is over with... and find a way to deal with Valeur."
Phuture braced herself for the upcoming battles that would end the war, but the sudden arrival of Life deterred all of the preparations. She could only worry about her daughter, her mind unable to maneuver from the current moment.
Valeur, the most powerful demon of all time, was already there according to Life and likely pulling the strings behind scenes.
The cold winter was coming to an end, and the beginning of spring sparked an all-out warzone across Greenland.
Multiple cities wreaked havoc of battlefield as The Axis attempted to redeem themselves and fight against The Union.
Willie Lou expressed an empathetic approach regarding Phuture and Terrance, assigning others of The Demon Corps to battlefields across the east and south while leaving them unassigned.
Phuture spent the time with her unconscious daughter, who was inside a black healing orb created by Terrance's energy.
But Terrance continued his physical training nonstop in preparation of Valeur's appearance, assuring Willie Lou and Hayze to notify him immediately if the demon made an appearance.
The Itaska and The Demon Corps were on the hunt for The Divine Demon.
Hayze led The Itaska in the southern cities in South Greenland, joining The Union on their push for the invasion of Atlantis.
Willie Lou utilized the rest of her soldiers in The Demon Corps east, stationing everyone to their own respective locations as battles intensified.
She stationed Robert to guard his own land, leaving him with Tyler and Bryson to secure the base in Beaufont. None of them were exceptionally strong in power, but all of them were spiritual energy users who recently joined The Demon Corps.
Elmer, Harriet, and Jasper were all stationed to push for Richland, while Willie Lou and Chicago made their way to northern to Greensburg for the beginning of a brawl that could lead to a surrounding of The Axis capitol of Richland.
Terrance, who finally had a reason to use his absolute full power against Valeur, trained to his full capacity within his True Domain by lifting two Jupiter sized planets in each hand. His workout wouldn't make up for not being in his true vessel, but he needed to build Terrance's body much as possible.
He anticipated the battle anxiously; there was nothing he wanted more than to face Valeur.
Valeur transmigrated them away from their true vessels, and he always assumed it was only to weaken them.
Unlike Phuture, Dark could remember every detail of himself before transmigration. He could remember the war against Valeur and that he couldn't kill Phuture due to her intangibility.
Their biggest flaw in the war against Valeur was that they weren't individually able to defeat him, leading to only one technique damaging against their biggest foe.
He finished his training after counting to one hundred thousand lifts and eradicated both the planets using his spiritual energy prowess as he finished.
He walked away from the wrath of his power while dusting off his shoulder, grimacing from the heat of planetary destruction while panting for his breath.
Terrance spoke to himself. "I have to kill him."
Four days had gone by since Life's arrival to Greenland and she was still healing inside an orb, Phuture remained persistently by her side during all four days.
Terrance summoned The Realm to begin a meeting with his allies, bringing everyone together at the round table for a discussion.
"Sir Dark." Itaska said, scratching his head confusingly. He was assisting in a battle north of Atlantis, finally having an opportunity of meeting with his sister and rest of The Itaska in South Greenland. "What brings the sudden meeting? Wait, today isn't Monday, is it?"
"Pardon the timing." Dark's deep voice echoed, same as usual in The Realm. "I need each of you to do something for me."
Inside The Realm, Dark resumed his true identity and vessel.
Phuture had been thrilled to obtain her true form every single meeting in The Realm, but he noticed that she remained under a depressingly low slump.
"Divine Goddess Phuture." Dark called out his wife's name. "Are you prepared to fight?"
Phuture's head titled upward towards him, she stared into his brown eyes in silence for a moment.
I haven't been able to make any progression on going home... not only that but one of my children is trapped here with me! I know this is all Valeur's doing!
Dark nearly called out to her again amid her silence, but she shouted out. "Leave The Divine Demon to me! I'll kill him! I don't give a damn how much I have to push myself!"
Dark nearly chuckled at her confidence, at first assuming she wasn't mentally prepared for the battle much as him. Realizing that she was in fact just as eager for vengeance brought him joy, but he didn't let that show to the others and kept a stale face.
"Very well, that's great news to hear." Dark folded his hands on the wooden table. "Are you prepared to die for the cause? Because I brought you all here to warn you... these final battles of the war will be fought until death. Each of you shall be fully prepared to lay your life on the line!"
