168. The Zeta Wolf

168. The Zeta Wolf
Safina

I stand there watching as Derek, Aries, Nami, and Arion all try their hardest to get the large door open. When we came upon it, I slightly hesitated, seeing it was the one from the vision I had with prince Zander.

Thinking of him, I look over to him now, standing to the side, still favoring his left side with his hand. He was wearing a white robe jacket thing, but there was no mistaking the blood that was already beginning to seep through.

The man, he forced down here with us, was once again kneeling in front of him but facing the other way as he hunched in on himself looking fearful and scared out of his mind. Not sure why he even brought him at all. It wasn’t like prince Zander didn’t know how to navigate this place. He’s been here before.

So, what was the real reason?

“Damn it! This isn’t fucking budging!” Derek growls in anger.

“Move aside.” Shane comes forward and shifts into Shadow.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of his massive form. Shadow was beautiful, like the midnight sky without the stars, a sheen of blue against the firelight of the torches on the walls. His eyes alone stood out with contrast against his black fur, making them look electric blue.

The others quickly move away from the door and watch in fascination as he braces himself for impact. My eyes widen as that realization came to light. He was going to slam his body against that giant thick door.

“Wait Shadow-!” I start but it was too late as he charges the door and the entire thing shook dangerously, the wood finally cracking.

I forgot that Shane and Shadow’s ability was strength. The strongest out of all werewolves. The impact didn’t even faze him as he does it again, a loud splintering through the wood finally showing the other side just a fraction.

Before Shadow could make another attempt, we all freeze when we here screaming of terror through the other side. I stood stock still, eyes wide in fear as the screams sounded painful, scared, and desperate.

I slowly take a step and we all listen carefully.

“NO! Wait! Please!”

“ARGGH!”

“He’s fucking crazy! Let’s get out of here-Arggh!”

Derek and Arion slams against the door and starts trying to pry the splintered wood apart.

“Benji?!” Derek cries out, panicking.

Zander rushes to the door as well, disregarding his injury as he too starts to panic a little. I didn’t know what was now happening inside or why it was happening. I could hear a faint voice pleading, begging someone to listen to them.

“I told you, I can help you with everything you need!”

Not a moment later everything went deadly quiet.

“Benji?!” Derek’s voice quivers slightly.

Dread fills me up as silence meets us. What was going on in there? Why was it so quiet, with no one responding.? The men start breaking the door apart now and the more they reveal, the more the place inside seems to be filled with a weird fog, obscuring our view of what was inside.

Finally, there was enough room for someone small to get through. I don’t hesitate to try to get my little body in the door, but Shane grabs my arm and pulls me back. I gasp at the sudden pull and stare into his blue eyes that was filled with concern. He was naked again as he had shifted back and didn’t bother to put clothes on.

“We don’t have time to waste, Shane.” I plead with him.

“We don’t know what is going on in there. I’m not comfortable with the thought that you could be hurt as soon as you get through that door.” He growls gently.

I wanted to scream with frustration at him. I get why, but we didn’t have time for this. Benji and Z could be seriously hurt, if not worse. The door was still resisting the rest of the way and I was able to fit.

“Damn it, Shane, let her fucking through! My mate is in there.” Derek broke no argument looking like he was about to burst in rage as his face contorted in struggle, pulling on one of the slabs of the wooden pieces of the door.

“He’s right. She can get through we don’t have the time to keep getting through ourselves. We need one of us in there, now.” Prince Zander lays a hand on his shoulder, gently releasing a calming aura through the tunnel.

I knew prince Zander was feeling anything but calm, he was doing it so Shane will let me go and get to his brother and Benji. I take that chance to slip through before Shane was able to get his bearings back. I hear him hiss my name angrily as I let go of the door.

I slowly stop, gazing around the large area filled with white fog. I wasn’t sure where it was coming from. There were no windows, no open crevices for it to seep through. I look around as I gently take another step only to hit something solid on the ground. I stop and look down at my feet.

My breath hitches at seeing a man, whose eyes were wide open and blood splattering over his face and back. I quickly cover my mouth to stop the scream of horror from escaping. My heart starts to accelerate in my chest, my hands shaking. I move around the body starting to see more and more of them on the ground.

I wanted to cry out to Benji, to Z, but I was too afraid too. I could hear the men behind me still working with the door. Who could have done this and why? I take another step, trying hard to see through the thick fog.

Suddenly, a large gust of air hits me in the face and the fog quickly spreads to the side like Moses parting the vast sea and at the other end of the room stood a bare chested man in black tight pants, his long black hair hanging in front of his face.

I freeze where I stood, staring in fear of the unknown figure. He was heaving slightly, just standing there. But what bothered me the most was his eyes. Vibrant purple, staring right at me coldly. He doesn’t move from his spot as if he was calculating on what I was going to do next.

I didn’t know what to do but just stare right back. I knew exactly who he was. No werewolf had eyes like those. He was Azure, the first and only Lycan to ever be born of our kind.
