Chapter 34 - Triggered

**Lily**

"I can't believe she did that!" Megan shouts, "That - That *Whore*!" Megan frantically waves her arms around, walking back and forth from the cell door to Keely and I. I slouch my back against the wall and rub my temples. Keely eyes blankly follow Megan's movements. "I trusted her - *Them*! Well I trusted Alexis more because she gave me a muffin." Megan mumbles under her breath, "But that doesn't give her the right to betray us!" She growls, her arm reaching out to punch the silver wall. Megan winces and falls on her knees, panting.

"Should I help her?" Keely wonders blankly.

I answer, "No. It's her fifth time doing that today, she's fine." I think.

Werewolves and silver don't mix. It weakens us like Kryptonite weakens Superman.

"You have questionable taste in friends," The Queen dryly comments.

I interrupt her with a growl that causes Keely to jump and Megan to stop pacing. "She would what? Betray her best friends and come to us? Reject the proposition only for Debra and Joanne to kill her blood. Her brothers?" My words come out bitter.

The Queen's face falls, eyes hurt.

"Lily," Keely scolds, hands rubbing her eyes.

"I know," I sigh, the deep stomach feeling returning. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have talked to you like that. It was wrong and I'm sorry." I press my lips into a straight line, my eyes looking anywhere but her.

"But you're right," Megan plops herself beside me, sighing. "I knew that but it's just that Alexis knows Chase wants you back." Megan rolls her eyes. I snap my eyes to hers. She continues, "And if she hurts you, I don't think Chase would ever forgive her - I think she knows that too." Megan pulls on her hair.

"I don't think it's something to stress over." I mutter. I bite my lip at the thought of Chase hating his own sister for me. It sounds ridiculous considering he rejected me some months ago.

"You're his mate, Lily." Megan shudders. "And mates love each other. Even if you deny it, you can't ignore the pull you have to him."

I look away again, keeping my lips in a straight line. I hate how well she knows me. It's true but being the stubborn brat I am, I keep on trying to push those feelings away. Giving people a chance is something I believed in back when I came back to the Red Dawn Pack. But with him, it's a different story.

"He was made for you and you were made for him. Therefore if Alexis hurts you, she can say goodbye to Chase. Mates would do almost anything for each other, even if it means letting people go." Megan concludes, eyes sad. "Poor Jeremy."

"Why are you telling me this?" I quirk a brow and try to keep my emotions in check. To be honest, I never thought about it. I just assumed Jeremy and I would continue being a couple. It never occurred to me that Chase and I would get together.

She opens her mouth and then closes it again. She blankly states, "I care about Jeremy." Megan fake gags. "Don't tell him."

After my "Uncle" pulled the trigger, it fired at the floor. Tee five black wolves brought us to the dungeon and we've been here since. We tried getting out and even calling the guards but it didn't work. And we had no choice but to give up and wait for them to get us. The problem is, it's been hours and the sounds of bombs falling stopped.

"I got it!" Megan claps, eyes wide. "Keely can use her powers and transport us!"

Keely shakes her head. "We can't use our powers when silver is surrounding us, same for every werewolf." Her tone of voice lowers.

"So much for a genius idea." I grumble, closing my eyes.

"What do you think happened to the boys? It's been hours already." Keely wonders, eyes closing.

I think we're all thinking the same. The thought of them getting hurt or killed is stressing us out. Not to mention, my heart is filled with the same feeling I felt after the conversation with my birth parents, guilt. They came here to help me and because I let them, they might get hurt. And I can't help them either. NOt until I find a way out.

Keely sees my face and quickly adds, "I know Exel is okay. Our bond is still strong and if he's alive, I know the others are too." She offers a reassuring smile, which I return weakly.

"You can't do this - Sick Bastard!" Jesse?

"*Bitch*. Let me go! I have rights!" Sounds like Brandon.

"My soul will haunt you!" Only one person would ever say that - Victor.

All the familiar commotion causes us to run near the cell door. The footsteps and shouts get closer and as they do, I find my heart beating louder. Why can't I hear Chase? Is he okay? Did they get him? Where is he?

A bright smile makes it way to my face when Exel, Chase, Brandon, Jeremy, Jesse, and Victor come into sight. Flips and twists of happiness make my stomach churn in a good way. Ten large werewolves shove the guys into the cell across from us. They lock the door, walk upstairs and out of sight. The guys groan out loud, curses practically flying out their mouths like a second language.

"Exel!" Keely shouts, hands accidentally brushing against the silver bars. Keely grunts and falls backwards, panting and sweating.

The guys jolt up, different emotions radiating off them. Rage, happiness, relief, you name it. Our names are screamed out their lips, eyes and heads moving around their cell. Megan rolls her eyes and nudges my shoulder. I shrug because to be honest, I'm too tired to criticize them. It takes too much energy.

"You seeing this crap?" Keely scoffs.

"Oh my gosh, don't touch me there!" Megan fake squeals in disgust. That gets the guy's attention.

"What are you doing here?!" Victor and Jeremy exclaim.

"How did you even get here?" Exel questions, not taking his eyes of Keely as if she'd disappear completely.

"Some guys brought us here after Alexi -" Megan pauses and looks at Chase curiously. "They brought us here after meeting Ben, Queen's brother."

Pain and hurt are written on Chase's face. And sadly, I can feel it as well. I guess he knows about it, he must be conflicted.

"He knows," Keely whispers.

Chase clears his throat when he notices our gazes. "I can't believe Alexis would do this." He rubs a hand over his face and turns around to punch the wall. He grunts and falls to his knees, moaning in pain. I look away as it hurts me as well.

"But she did it for your survival." I add. It would be unfair if he didn't know why she did it. She did it to protect her brothers and to get her best friends back. I think in her situation, I would do the same. It wouldn't matter if the side is bad or good just as long as my friends and family would survive.

"Really?" Brandon looks hopeful. Chase's eyes twinkle as he stares at me for confirmation, I nod stiffly.

"Guys!" We snap our heads to Jesse. "I don't want to interrupt but if we don't get out of here, we'll be prisoners longer than this. They took the king!"

What? My heart begins to beat faster.

"How could you let this happen?!" Keely growls, "What were you doing?!" The Queen places a hand behind Keely's back, trying to calm her down. And unlike Keely, the Queen seems more composed.

"We were fighting the rouges but got a little bit distracted... " Chase trails off, eyes looking at the ground.

"Of what?! Naked chicks?!" Keely's eyes begin to grow some gold specks.

"We were winning!" Chase says, eyes wide. The guys bob their heads up and down in agreement.

"But then we heard screaming, your screaming." Brandon mutters, hiding behind a bored looking Jeremy. Jeremy moves aside but Brandon follows.

"Really?" My sarcastic voice doesn't go unnoticed.

"We left the field but when we came inside, the lights were off. " Exel shrugs. "We though it was a trick but we didn't react fast enough."

Jeremy than continues, "Yeah. I know it seems crazy but after that, the door shut itself. Than these men came in and grabbed us. We tried to fight them but they were too big." Jeremy's cheeks grow pink.

Victor nudges him. "The drugged us so weren't able to beat them." Victor clears his throat, head high. I don't think he buys it either.

"We could have fought them but the air, it was weird." Jesse hums. "This weird smell filled the air and then we just... blacked out."

"Fred." Keely and Exel simultaneously whisper.

"Who's Fred?" The name comes out bitter.

"He's an old guy who nobody liked for always being rude to others, a white wolf." The Queen explains. "His power is to make people sleep with a snap of his fingers. All he has to do is think of those people and they black out." The Queen's face falls into her hands.

"So that's all?" Megan asks, eyes twitching in anger. I rub her back. It won't benefit anyone if Megan throws a fit, we'll never get out and come up with a plan. "What about the screaming? It couldn't have been us. We've been here for hours."

Keely speaks, "No. It was definitely Sofia Graywood. She has the power to mimic the way people talk, she can even mimic crowds."

"I wish I had powers." Victor pouts.

"Shut it, Victor!" My voice turns hard. "How did you know Alexis, Debra, and Joanne were in this?" I gulp. I fear Debra and Joanne did something to them. I wouldn't put it past them after pretending to be my friend.

Debra must have been telling them where we were all along. That would explain why I felt watched but never found tracks or actual werewolves. It would explain why they found us and so many things were blown up in fire. They had us all this time and I didn't catch it. And now, we lost the King. I just hope we gte to him before anything serious happens.

"They were the last thing we saw when we were blacking out." Chase mutters quietly, hands turning into fists. "They were standing in front us... smirking." He grits out the last word.

"That doesn't make sense though. Alexis did this for Brandon and Chase, so why did she let you, her brothers, get blacked out too? Wasn't that her reason for joining?" Keely wonders.

"She betrayed all of us and I think she could." Megan nonchalantly says.

"Let's not judge my sister. I think you'd do the same." Chase growls, hand in their dismissing her. Megan opens her mouth to speak but pauses. With a sigh, she sits on the floor.

A loud metal bang causes us to jump. A door opens and footsteps from the stairs get closer.

"Back away." Jeremy whispers, taking some steps back. We obey and do the same, careful not to go near the silver walls. My eyes lock with Jeremy's, his eyes giving me reassurance but his beating heart is just as fast as mine.

A figure with a black hoody comes into sight and stops in front of our cells. I watch as its hand moves closer to the pocket of the hoody, where the tip of a black gun is visible. The hand stops on the tip then moves further down until a click sound it heard. My heart drops.

He's gonna shoot us down.

I close my eyes when the hand moves out the pocket.
