Chapter 75:calm 2
Imogen's pov
I took out the medications from my pocket and handed them to him, one by one. He took them with a trembling hand, his eyes never leaving mine. I watched as he swallowed each pill, making sure he took them all. "There, that wasn't so bad, was it?" I said, trying to keep my voice light. He nodded, his eyes still fixed on me. "Thanks," he said, his voice soft and quiet. "You're welcome," I replied, feeling a rush of emotion at the simple act of caring for him.
After I gave him his medications, I sat with him for a while, just chatting about nothing in particular. We talked about the weather, the news, and anything else that came to mind. It was nice to just sit and talk with him, to be in the moment with him. I could tell that he appreciated the company, and I was glad to be there for hi
I sat there, talking to him, but I could feel myself growing more and more tired with each passing minute. I tried to fight off the sleepiness, but it was no use. The next thing I knew, I was waking up, my head resting on the bed next to him. I had no idea how long I had been asleep, but I felt refreshed and a little disoriented. I looked at him and saw that he was also sleeping, his face was relaxed and peaceful
I looked up and saw Adam standing in the doorway, a cup of coffee in his hand. The smell of coffee filled the room, and I felt a sudden wave of hunger. He smiled at me and said, "Morning, sleepyhead." I smiled back, my mouth watering at the thought of a hot cup of coffee. I stood up and stretched my arms, my body aching from sitting in the chair for so long. "I hear you're being discharged this morning," I said, hoping to sound cheerful and upbeat. He nodded, looking relieved.
As I watched him, I noticed how exhausted he looked. His face was pale and drawn, and his eyes were dark and hollow. I realized just how much this experience had taken a toll on him. He was quiet for a moment, then said, "I'm ready to get out of here." I could hear the nurses chatting in the hallway, and the smell of coffee was making my stomach growl. "I'll go see if I can find you something to eat," I said. He nodded, his eyes already starting to close
I walked out of the room, I couldn't help but pity Adam, he looked so tired and I knew that it was because he has a lot of his shoulders, everyone was counting on him and he was trying to be everywhere at once, he wanted to be here for his father and also be available at the pack for the people but it wouldn't be possible, I know we had supernatural strength as werewolves but we still need to take care of ourselves, it isn't easy and I didn't want anything to happen to him
I brushed away every thought of going to Adam to tell him anything that was going through my mind, I didn't want to bother him about the kids, I would handle it myself, I walked out of the hospital and made my way to the restaurant down the street, Adam was so thoughtful when he brought me that coffee this morning because I am very tired and I need all the rest that I can get and the thing I looked forward to today was going back to the pack house and jumping on my bed, I needed to feel that soft bed on my skin again
I enjoyed the wind on my skin and how it brew my hair as I walked down the road, the early morning breeze was wonderful and I Inhaled and exhaled as I tried to feel everything around me. I got to the restaurant and ordered chicken pasta, I and Adam love eating this food, I ordered three takeaways of Chicken pasta, one for me, another one for Adam, and the last one for his dad, I am sure that he is already awake by now
I walked back to this hospital but this time, I walked back fast, I didn't want the food to get cold, I like it when it's hurt. I walked into the hospital and made my way to the room where Adam's dad was kept. I entered the room and just as I expected, he was awake, looking so healthy It felt like he wasn't sick a few days ago, He was ready to go home and the thought of going home made a smile appear on my face
"Good morning" I greeted
"Good morning my dear child, you're so tired, you slept before your patient kart night," He said and I chuckle, I was the only that chuckled, Adam stared at me with a straight face, it almost felt like he was scolding me
"You're feeling better now and you will be discharged today so you guys shouldn't worry about me, my first plan is to sleep as soon I get to the pack house", I said and they chuckle and I smiled
"We should all eat," I said as I have every one their food, I ate my food in silence, no one said a word, it felt like we were communicating in my mind and we wanted it to remain like this, I knew that they were thinking of something else, I can guess what Adam is thinking of, maybe the pack, he is thinking of anything that could benefit the pack and the best way to improve in trade but deep down, I hope that he was thinking about me
I don't anything about Adam's dad, so I couldn't guess what he was thinking about.
"Thanks, Imogen for the food," He said and wiped his mouth, I was done with my food and Adam was also done with his food. I picked up my phone and checked the time on the phone, I smoked knowing that it was time for him to be discharged.
After a few minutes, we were all inside the car driving home, Adam played music in the car and although I haven't heard most of them before, I just tried to move along with the beat
