My best friend, Ada, sat beside me on my bed and exclaimed, "Mila, you look incredibly attractive." She was fixated on my phone as she said this.
"You should definitely consider sending Everett that picture of yourself." With a tap on the screen, a provocative selfie of me lying without a top in my bed appeared.
I responded with a playful giggle, refraining from sharing that particular photo. "No, that one doesn't accentuate my features. How about this one instead?" I selected another image of me positioned against a wall wearing black lacy lingerie, with my legs spread apart. In the photo, I held a small silver vibrator against my undergarments, my tongue out and my eyes closed.
Ada suggested nonchalantly, "Why not send both?"
An arched eyebrow was my immediate reaction.
"What? It wouldn't hurt to give him more options when looking at your pictures, if you catch my drift," she added, making a suggestive pelvic motion with her hand.
I stared at the pictures, considering Ada's proposal. She did make a valid point. Honestly, even just gazing at them was getting me aroused. I could only begin to imagine what his reaction would be. I knew he would immediately be thirsty of me and I really wanted that.
I scrolled to Everett's name in my phone and texted him the two pictures with the caption: Wish you were here with me. ;)
When I put my phone down, Ada smiled widely. "When are you gonna see him next? Maybe you two can finally get it on!"
I rolled onto my stomach and kicked my feet into the air. "He and his dad are supposed to come over to have dinner tomorrow night."
Everett's dad, Mr. Williams, and my dad worked at CloseNet Engineering, a company they had started together fifteen years ago. Since then, our families had weekly dinners together, went on vacations together, even spent holidays together.
"Everett has been such a tease lately," I said, thinking back to all of the dirty texts he'd sent me. I squeezed my knees together.
Through high school, Everett and I had flirted on and off with each other. But nothing ever happened. He was a bad boy, a player, every girl's wet dream. We just never had the chance, which was partly my fault. Whenever he came on to me, I pushed him away, loving the thought of teasing him.
I got wet, just thinking about him being out on dates with all these sexy women and opening one of my dirty texts or pictures. Him placing his phone down on the table, his hand pressing against his hard-on, trying to calm himself down. Ending up excusing himself to jerk off in the bathroom.
Damn, I had touched myself to those fantasies one too many times. I was tempted to just let him have me already.
Before Ada left for the day, she made me promise to text her as soon as Everett replied. But whenever I checked my phone, there were no messages from him.
At four p. m., my knees were bouncing up and down, my lip was drawn between my teeth, my heart was racing. He had always replied within minutes.
Maybe he didn't want to play this game anymore. Maybe sending two pictures was too many. I didn't know, but I wanted to find out. What if something was wrong?
My phone buzzed, and I immediately jumped up and opened up the message.
Everett Williams: Mila, I don't think this is appropriate.
My heart sank in my chest. How could he not think it was appropriate? We had been texting back and forth like this for almost two months, and all of a sudden, he didn't think it was okay. Where was that snarky remark of his?
Me: What do you mean? You didn't like the pictures?
He replied within seconds.
Everett Williams: Oh no, I love them. I'm hard, just looking at them. If I could, I'd take you to bed.
Me: Then, what's the problem, Everett? Come over. My dad's at work.
Everett Williams: Check who you're texting.
I gazed up at the contact, eyes widening. "Shit. How could I be so stupid?" My cheeks flamed with embarrassment. I reread the name over and over. Still not believing that I just sent my dirty, naked pictures to Everett's dad.
Me: OMG, I'm so sorry, Mr. Williams. I meant to send that to someone else. Please don't tell my dad I sent those to you! I'm so embarrassed.
I pulled the blankets over my head, trying to shield myself from the embarrassment that wouldn't leave me alone. My cheeks felt like they were on fire; my heart was racing faster than it was before.
Mr. Williams: Don't be embarrassed, Mila. You're very sexy.
My eyes widened at his reply, and for a moment, my core burned. Mr. Williams was nearly my father's age, but he had always been undeniably attractive. Ada and I had a huge crush on him in high school.
I took a deep breath and decided to keep my response short.
Me: Thanks.
He didn't reply to me, and I didn't know what to think. I just prayed that he wouldn't tell Dad about the pictures.
And just to be certain, I hid from Dad when he came home from work. Didn't even come out for dinner. Didn't say good night to him. Just stayed in my room, hid under my covers, and ignored everyone's texts, including Everett's.
Early the next morning, he knocked on my door and stepped into my room. The sunrays flooded through my window. "Mila, is there anything you want to tell me about?"
My eyes widened, and I sat up in bed. "Uh, no. Why?" I asked, clutching the blankets in my sweaty palms.
He shrugged his shoulders. "You usually come downstairs and have dinner with us. Are you sick?"
I smiled at my dad, relief washing over me. "Oh, I just wasn't feeling that well," I lied.
"Well, hopefully, you're feeling better by tonight. Everett and his father are coming over for dinner," he said. Then, he kissed my head and left for work.
