Chapter 145 PREGNANT
Chapter 145 PREGNANT
I looked right into Vladislav's bright blue eyes, and I thought very carefully about his massive question. He asked me what I wanted to do with the rest of our lives, and the perfect answer came to my mind easily.
I reached my hands up to hold his warm cheeks, and I smiled softly in the dim firelight. "I want to build a real family with you, and I want our children to run safely in this green valley," I told him honestly.
Vladislav smiled so wide that the small wrinkles crinkled around the corners of his eyes. "I want that more than anything else in the world, and I will be a very good father to our pups," he promised me.
"You are already a great protector, so I know you will take amazing care of our future children," I reassured him. He leaned down to kiss my forehead again, and the gentle touch made my tired heart flutter with joy.
We sat by the warm bonfire for another hour, and we listened to the cheerful music playing around us. The northern wolves danced in the grass, but my heavy eyelids eventually started to close from pure exhaustion.
"You need to rest your body after everything we survived today," Vladislav noticed my sleepy state. "Elder Silas set up a large canvas tent for us near the trees, and we can finally sleep in a real bed," he added.
I nodded my head in agreement, and he stood up from the fallen tree trunk to help me to my feet. We walked away from the loud celebration, and we followed a quiet dirt path toward the edge of the dark woods.
The cool night air brushed against my skin, and the distant sound of the river provided a very calming background noise. We reached a large white tent pitched under a tall pine tree, and Vladislav pulled the canvas door open for me.
We stepped inside the quiet space, and a thick pile of soft blankets rested on a raised wooden platform. "It is not a royal palace bed, but it is much better than a freezing stone floor," Vladislav joked lightly.
"I would rather sleep on the dirt with you than sleep in a fancy palace without you," I answered him sincerely. We took off our dirty boots, and we climbed into the warm bed together without removing our leather clothes.
Vladislav wrapped his strong arms around my waist, and he pulled my back flush against his broad chest. His steady heartbeat thumped against my shoulders, and the familiar rhythm made me feel incredibly safe.
I closed my tired eyes, and I drifted into a very deep sleep within a few short minutes. I did not dream about dark dungeons or heavy iron chains, because my mind finally felt secure and at peace.
I opened my eyes in my dream, and I realized I was standing in the middle of a beautiful forest. The tall trees did not have green leaves, because every single branch glowed with a bright silver light.
The soft grass under my bare feet felt very warm, and the cool wind carried the fresh smell of morning rain. I walked slowly through the quiet woods, and I admired the glowing silver magic surrounding my path.
The forest looked exactly like the ancient stories Elder Silas used to tell me when I was just a young pup. I knew I was walking through the divine realm, and a deep sense of awe washed over my spirit.
I reached out to touch a glowing silver leaf, and the bright light felt very warm against my fingertips. A sudden bright flash illuminated the path ahead of me, and I stopped walking to see what caused the intense glow.
A tall woman stepped out from behind a large silver tree, and she wore a long dress made of pure white light. Her long silver hair flowed down her back, and a beautiful glowing crescent moon rested on her forehead.
I recognized her immediately from the old pack legends, and I dropped to my knees in the soft grass to show my respect. "You do not need to bow to me, Bellatrix," the Moon Goddess spoke, and her voice sounded like a gentle river breeze.
I stood back up on my feet, and I looked at her kind face with wide eyes. "I never thought I would meet you in person, and I am very honored to stand in your forest," I told her honestly.
The Moon Goddess smiled at me, and she walked closer to where I stood on the dirt path. "You earned the right to walk in this realm, because you proved your pure heart to the forest spirits," she explained gently.
"I just did what I had to do to protect my people from the King," I answered with true humility. "A selfish ruler runs away from danger, but a true Alpha runs straight into the fire to save her pack," the Goddess corrected me.
"You faced the brutal arena without any fear, and you cleansed the poisoned rivers with your ancient magic," she listed my trials. "You surrendered your own freedom to save the innocent children from the shadow-weavers, and we saw your ultimate sacrifice."
"I could not let the young pups die, because they are the future of our green valley," I reasoned with her. "Your endless love for your people is your greatest strength, and it is the reason your silver fire burns so bright," she said proudly.
The Moon Goddess stopped right in front of me, and her pure white dress radiated a very comforting warmth. "You suffered through a lot of pain and darkness this year, Bellatrix," the divine woman acknowledged my hard journey.
"The war was very difficult, but I found my true mate along the way," I replied, and I thought about Vladislav's bright blue eyes. "He was always meant to find you, because his ancient strength perfectly balances your bright magic," the Goddess confirmed.
"He believes he is a monster, but he is a very good man," I defended him to the divine ruler. "He spent a thousand years living in the shadows, but your love brought him back into the light," she agreed with me.
"Are the southern courts going to attack us again?" I asked her, because I needed to know if my pack was truly safe. "The southern empire is broken, and they will never send their dark soldiers to your green valley again," the Goddess promised.
A massive wave of relief washed over my chest, and I let out a long breath of fresh air. "We can finally rebuild our homes, and we can live in peace without looking over our shoulders," I said with a happy smile.
"You will rebuild your homes, and you will lead your people into a very long era of prosperity," the Moon Goddess told me. "However, I did not bring you to this silver forest just to talk about the brutal war."
I tilted my head in confusion, and I waited for her to explain the real reason for this magical visit. "The forest spirits want to thank you for your bravery, and we want to give you a very rare reward," she announced.
"I do not need any gold or extra power, because I already have everything I want," I answered her truthfully. "I know you do not want power, and that is exactly why you deserve this special blessing," the Goddess laughed softly.
She reached her glowing hand out, and she placed her warm palm gently against my stomach. A sudden rush of bright silver magic flowed from her hand right into my core, and the feeling was incredibly beautiful.
The new magic did not feel like a weapon, and it did not feel like the hot fire I used to fight the dark soldiers. The magic felt soft and very fragile, and a deep maternal instinct immediately woke up inside my soul.
I looked down at her glowing hand, and my breath caught in my throat as I realized what she was doing. "You asked your mate for a real family tonight, and the universe listened to your honest wish," the Moon Goddess whispered.
"Am I really pregnant?" I asked her, and hot tears of pure joy filled my eyes. "Your journey through the dark is over, and your new life as a mother begins today," she answered with a bright smile.
I placed my own hands over my stomach, and I felt the tiny sparks of new magic resting safely inside me. The Moon Goddess stepped closer, gently touched my stomach with a warm hand, and said, "You carry two tiny sparks of life, my brave Alpha. You are going to be a mother to twins."
