Chapter 251 POWER STRUGGLES
Percival
With a loud roar, I take off running toward him at full speed. He chuckles heartily, settling in comfortably, all set for me. But this time, instead of just making him stumble like I did when he first arrived, I make him fly.
I crash into him hard, knocking him down and catching him by surprise. I start throwing punches, giving it my all, but he manages to block and dodge the first couple. He catches a couple of my hits right in the jaw, but then he kicks me in the gut, and I end up sliding across the wet grass on my butt. I want to let loose on him, but I do my best to hold back. My veins stick out in my neck from all this pulsing rage.
I know he is lying because I would have totally felt it if she had been with someone else. Still, that does not mean I enjoy hearing it.
I shoot him a glare and jump up, moving in fast while he just stands there, looking at me with one eyebrow raised.
His experience makes him a tough trainer, much more capable than I am. If I can take him out, I can take my dad down too. So, that is what I have in mind. That is what we have been secretly working toward.
My dad had no clue about what was really going on, but my mom was in the loop. She wanted me to get what was rightfully mine. Nixx wanted that too; she was all about gaining power.
So, my dad was busy preparing Nixx to be the next Alpha, just like we had talked about. At least he would receive the training he deserved from all this.
I had just one more year of Alpha training up north before I was all set. That meant I was getting four months' worth and then some, all in just two.
“Hey, Percival, you know I was just messing around. If you actually tried to take me out, who would be there to train you? We have talked about this before.” His voice was laid-back as I stepped closer, my hand reaching out to grip his neck.
In a flash, his knee shot up, but I managed to dodge it. His fist landed hard against my kidney, and I bent over as he flipped me onto my back. His foot came down on my chest, and he looked down at me with that classic smirk of his. “Alright, you are out now. Let’s go, buddy. You have got a month to figure this out. You have to get me down.”
With a growl, I shot him a glare, holding my wolf back inside. I focused on chilling out my muscles so he would not catch on to what I was about to do next.
“Hey, Percival...” He leaned in, his dark eyes laughing at me. “So, when you lose this challenge with your dad, how about I take Edeline off your hands and show her what a real guy feels like? Oh, wait. You do not even have her to give.” He chuckled darkly.
Something inside me just broke. It felt like my sanity was crumbling as a loud rumble echoed from my chest.
In a burst of rage, I quickly reached out, twisted his foot, and brought him down to the ground. I hopped on top of him, and my fist came down with every word, “Don’t. bring. her. up. again.” My voice had dropped into a deeper tone, more like a growl. I punched him in the face with every word, and the sound of cartilage and bone cracking rang in my ears.
Gaspar, feeling pretty mad now, wiped the blood from his nose and retaliated with a punch to my throat that made me gag. He pushed me off, but I was right back on him in no time, letting out all my frustration and anger as the beast inside me unleashed its fury. I just needed him to feel the hurt, pounding him with both my fists. I was furious—totally lost it and unleashed all my pent-up frustration on him.
“Stop!” I yelled, my throat feeling like it was on fire. Blood flew from his face as I threw my fists back down again.
He came at me, trying to take me down, but whatever I felt inside—the power my wolf was giving me—I could not make it stop. I was not just going to take his hits without throwing a couple back. I felt my ribs crack from a hard punch, but I did not even flinch. I just kept coming at him like a storm, my eyes locked on William instead of Gaspar. I had been thinking about how his actions made me feel weak. I felt like I was nudging my friend away from wanting me.
I was feeling a bit off.
I could not help it. Edeline was the thing that set me off; he had totally messed up what he said. I could feel my wolf’s strength surging within me as I smashed Gaspar’s nose and cheekbone with my punches. He was trying to push me away, but he was not really putting up much of a fight. I was definitely gaining the upper hand.
His hands pressed against my chest, right on that broken rib, shoving me back with all his strength. I took another tumble on my backside, the wet grass soaking into my shorts.
But I was not done yet. I got back up, fueled by the adrenaline pumping through me and the fire in my chest.
“Dude! Chill!” Gaspar yelled at me while I was on the ground, catching my breath. My chest was rising and falling rapidly, the rush hiding my injuries. He is tough, but I was meant to be even tougher. I just needed him to help bring it out.
I pulled the demon beast back inside and leaned up to take a look at him. His face was covered in blood. He held his nose for a moment before bringing it back up, blood smeared across his skin. As he pushed himself up, his eyes locked onto mine, a mix of surprise and anger swirling within them.
My heart raced like crazy, and I was not even sure what just went down.
