Chapter 217 UNLEASH THE WARRIOR

Chapter 217 UNLEASH THE WARRIOR
Edeline

Then I heard a low growl and the harsh sound of metal scraping against cement, signaling Conor’s approach. He came into view, looming over me. Without a word, he grabbed my shoulders and yanked me upright. His intense gaze made me shiver. His dark eyes bore into mine, filled with an urgent, almost frightening intensity.

“Hey, hold up!” he yelled, his voice sharp and commanding. The force of his tone made me flinch, but the tears stopped flowing.

“I will not watch you wallow in self-pity!” His voice was thunderous, reverberating through me. “You are stronger than this! It’s time to get angry!”

He urged me to channel my fury at everyone who had wronged me. “That’s the only way to protect yourself!” His voice was a powerful force, shaking me to my core. I stood there, frozen, unable to process the intensity of his words. His grip on my shoulders tightened, anchoring me in the moment.

“Come on, no need to throw a pity party for yourself! Not on my land, okay? Look, if we’re gonna compare who’s had it worse, I guarantee my cards will trump yours. But you don’t see me crying about it! So stop crying! You’re not a damsel in distress!” Conor shook me with each sentence, his hands gripping my shoulders tightly. His eyes flickered with intensity as they darted between mine. “You have so much potential, and I won’t stand by and watch you be weak! Not happening!”

He released me, and I managed to brace myself on my elbows before collapsing onto the floor. Conor turned away from me, his breathing heavy and uneven.

I was seething with anger. He had no clue what I was going through! My wolf was restless, itching to snap at him. She was clearly not a fan of his way of addressing us.

But he’s an alpha.

I pushed myself up from the ground, fixing him with a sharp, piercing gaze as I moved closer. “You have no idea how I feel!” I shouted.

Conor whirled around to face me, his aggression still palpable. “Don’t I? See? You’re angry now, aren’t you? Stop being so upset and start taking action to improve your life!” He shouted back, his voice thunderous. “Percival, Darius, all of them! Just relax and stop stressing! Forget about it and take action!”

If looks could kill, he would have been six feet under. “You’re a guy! You just don’t get it because women feel things more deeply than men do! I’ve been dealing with this crap for months!” My hands clenched into fists at my sides, trembling with frustration.

Conor stepped closer, his eyes blazing with intensity. “That’s not true, and you know it! We have emotions too! It’s not fair that we’re always expected to be strong while you’re also supposed to show strength! Women go through the incredible feat of giving birth, for goodness’ sake!” He threw his hands up in exasperation. “I’m tired of hearing that excuse! So where’s that fierce wolf everyone was raving about when I first arrived? Hey, do you know where the wolf is who broke the arm of a pregnant female in a fit of rage? Just curious!” His voice boomed with frustration.

“She’s gone!” I shouted back, my wolf’s eyes burning with anger.

“Not true!” Conor grabbed my shoulders again. “She’s in there, and I won’t let you keep her buried in your sorrows! Starting now, I’m going to teach you how to be a warrior. I’ll work your muscles so hard every day that you won’t even have the energy to shed a tear! You won’t believe how much you’ll be crying when I’m finished with you! And I’ll make sure you stay annoyed every day. We’re going to unleash that fierce side of yours, no matter what it takes, because you’re definitely not a timid wolf!”

His words ignited a fire within me, sending a shiver down my spine. It was as if a missing piece of the puzzle had finally fallen into place. My wolf tilted her head, her curiosity piqued as she observed Conor.

After he realized I wasn’t going to respond, just glare at him, he decided to let me go.

“Hey, head on up the stairs. Go ahead and hop in the shower. Let’s catch up in the backyard in an hour!” he commanded. I was still seething with anger, but I had to follow the Alpha’s orders. He was my Alpha now, and disobedience was not an option.

I shot Conor a death glare, making it clear that I had no intention of sharing a room with him. "Then show me my room, because I’m not sharing yours," I said through gritted teeth.

He flashed a slight, almost smug smile but didn't pause his stride. He continued walking, disappearing into the labyrinth of the house. I gritted my teeth and did my best to keep up with him, my frustration mounting with each step.

When he finally showed me to my room, I didn't waste any time. I did exactly as he instructed.

I hopped into the shower, the hot water cascading over me, offering a temporary respite from the turmoil inside.

If I had known how relentless he would be in pushing me to my limits, I might have reconsidered my initial resistance. He was determined to break me down, to test my endurance and fortify my strength. His promise to push my muscles to the limit was no idle threat; it was a commitment.

He was going to challenge my wolf and make me stronger.

And as I stood there, under the soothing warmth of the shower, I seriously considered letting him do just that—if it meant escaping the ongoing suffering and finding some semblance of control.

Mirabelle

Heading out of my cabin in a rush, I stepped outside, feeling the warmth of the sun hit my skin. The sky was a beautiful, vibrant blue—so deep it felt endless. Not a cloud in sight.

I had something important to deal with today.

My steps quickened along the dirt road, my face set in a serious expression. Last night… last night had been rough. For all of us.

Percival taking out Darius...
