Chapter 15 EDELINE’S HEARTBREAK
Edeline
I studied his features, my heart pounding. His defined jawline and prominent cheekbones were mesmerizing. He was quite the masterpiece. Why did it have to be him, though?
With a determined nod, I decided to be honest with him. The connection between us tugged at my heart, unseen threads pulling us closer. "Yeah, same here. I've had a thing for you for ages, but I could never bring myself to confess."
His smile was radiant, making my heart skip a beat and race all at once. His big grin reflected pure happiness, free of any hint of danger.
Suddenly, tingles shot through my hand, spreading up my body and settling deep within me. I took a deep breath, feeling the intensity of his gaze. His eyes were dilated, mirroring my own sensations.
We couldn't help but give in to our reactions. We were just drawn to each other, an undeniable force pulling us together. He let out a low growl from his chest, a sound filled with longing and desire, directed solely at me.
Out of nowhere, Percival suddenly reached out and pulled me onto him, so I ended up straddling his waist. I was taken aback by the suddenness of his actions, but the gentle touch of his hands on my back made any urge to flee disappear. As I gazed into his eyes, I felt like I was just going for a swim, feeling overwhelmed by desires and necessities.
He pressed gently against me, his hand moving up to cradle the back of my neck, drawing me closer. I couldn't seem to quit, no matter how hard I tried. A surge of wildness welled up within me, yet it was restrained by my thoughts. I simply wanted to experience the touch of our friend’s skin.
Excitement coursed through my body as our lips met, causing us both to inhale sharply. I could feel his hand on my rear, his fingers tangled in my hair, as his firmness pressed against me. His lips eagerly kissed mine, and I responded instinctively, moving against him without thinking. His tongue entered my mouth, savoring the moment, and I let out a deep rumble, unable to contain my own desire. A soft moan escaped from within me.
This was my very first kiss.
Suddenly, I jolted awake, realizing what I was doing. But my instincts were drawn to him. I wanted him all to myself.
As he pulled away, he noticed my eyes had transformed into a vibrant shade of golden green. He seemed to understand what my wolf desired.
Our teeth were bared, just like his. I was looking directly into his wolf's eyes. We weren't thinking about anyone else. With a firm grip, he pulled me towards him and effortlessly flipped me onto my back. I was yelling to gain control of the situation, but my wolf side wasn't having any of it.
His lips gently brushed against my neck, his warm breath sending a delightful shiver down my spine. A pleasant warmth built up inside me, causing my legs to tighten around him. His tongue explored my skin, and the gentle graze of his teeth made me let out a soft moan. He took a bite of the tender flesh, savoring its flavor before gently grazing his teeth against it, ready to claim me as his own.
Out of nowhere, I started thinking about that pregnant female. My wolf growled in my mind, snapping me back to reality, and I forcefully broke free from his grip.
"Hey Percival, hold up! Your pup!" I gasped, still feeling that tingly sensation buzzing inside me.
He suddenly came back to his senses, staring at me in surprise as he slowly moved away. "I'm sorry," he murmured. I tried to get up and move away from him, but he quickly rolled us so that we were lying side by side. His arms wrapped around me, pressing my chest into his. He leaned in close, taking a deep breath against my neck with a contented sigh.
I struggled to break free. Well, that didn't go as planned...
"Hey, can you do me a favor? Can I just hold you for a moment? I might not get another chance, so please, let me," he pleaded, tears welling up in his eyes. There's nothing that makes a guy feel more vulnerable than his partner's rejection.
I sighed and gave in, letting him embrace me while I held him, savoring his fragrance. Just recalling it. For a moment, I pretended that none of this was actually happening... I was just here with my friend. Well, looks like I won't be seeing him for a while.
I'm done being around him.
We chilled like that for an hour. Just cuddling. We were both silent, finding solace in each other's embrace as tears streamed down our faces. His actions had left me feeling betrayed and ashamed, while my heart was heavy with sadness. I really enjoyed his presence next to me. I couldn't resist him. Just to sense his presence. Everywhere.
After Percival fell asleep from the meds, I gently untangled myself from his embrace and wiped away my tears before quietly leaving the room. I closed the door softly and took a deep breath before entering the other room. As I raised my hand to knock, a wave of anger washed over me, triggered by Percival's request to his father.
Can you believe it? Wow, that bond...
"Hey, come on in," Darius croaked.
When I walked in, he gave me a suspicious look.
"So, you decided to pay my brother a visit before coming to me. I can't help but notice his scent lingering on you..." Needless to say, he was pretty upset.
As soon as I walked in, he could sense my frustration and sadness too.
I looked down at his bandaged form, relieved that neither brother had any serious injuries. They would have been worse off if the doctor hadn't intervened, but not as much now. His eyes grew gentle as I cried uncontrollably.
"We had a moment. And... your dad's made it clear that I can't see you anymore," I said, my voice barely audible as I collapsed onto the chair beside him. I couldn't bear to look at him, so I buried my face in my hands, overwhelmed by a wave of despair.
