Chapter 115 STORM OF REBELLION

Chapter 115 STORM OF REBELLION
Nixx

William’s hand flew to his mouth as he read the words, his eyes narrowing. Suddenly, he slammed the journal down on the desk, hard enough to shake it. His wolf, partially shifting, sent a dangerous ripple through the air. His teeth elongated, claws cutting into the flesh of his fingers.

“The Healer...” he growled through clenched teeth, barely holding back the primal need for blood that echoed my own.

“Yeah, dad. The healer. But... Darius has been helping Tatiana even before Anita got involved. Something’s not right, and I think it’s because she doesn’t have Alpha blood. But still... he helped her,” Percival said, leaning forward, his elbows resting on his thighs as his voice stayed measured, despite the tension between us.

Alpha William let out a deep, guttural growl. “Darius is my son,” he said, his voice layered with both anger and pain. “I will not harm him, and I will not let harm come to him. But he will answer for his actions. Tatiana's father is on his way, and Alpha Conor will be here soon as well. We can’t let any of them know what we’ve uncovered yet. Mirabelle is still recovering from the poison, and Edeline... she’s healing too, though her wolf hasn’t fully returned. I need to keep her away until this is dealt with,” he continued, his eyes locked on Percival.

Then his gaze softened, his wolf communicating something unspoken between father and son.

“Percival, I need to know where you stand on Tatiana. What do you want? What do you want for your pup... and for Edeline?”

Percival trembled with fear, visibly grappling with the conflicting emotions raging within him. His wolf was close to the surface, barely contained. "I want Edeline, Dad. But if the pup survives, I’ll be a responsible father. I just don’t want anything to do with Tatiana," he replied, his voice wavering with honesty. The mere mention of Tatiana’s name made my wolf snarl in my chest, and I tightened my grip on the armrest to suppress the urge.

Alpha William’s eyes locked onto mine, his wolf watching me with a mix of familiarity and curiosity. "And Nixx? What are your honest feelings toward your partner?"

My feelings?

She has caused so much pain to everyone I care about. And yet, I’m still drawn to her. But being part of this... this mess... I can’t stand it anymore. There are things she’s hiding from me, secrets she won’t share. But until she's proven innocent...

"I want her to face the consequences of her actions. I want her to reveal her secrets," I growled, my wolf echoing my thoughts. For once, we were in agreement.

Alpha William nodded, running his fingers through his dark hair as he reined in his wolf. "Tonight, I’ll have a conversation with Darius. We need to uncover the truth from everyone," he assured us, his voice steady and confident.

A knock on the door made us all turn our heads. We knew it was Luna Annabel before she even spoke.

"Sweetheart, Alpha Conor's convoy has just arrived," she called out in her melodious voice. Tension rippled through me, but I forced my wolf to retreat, trusting that Alpha William would handle the situation.

Percival caught my eye, his jaw clenched tightly. We were both thinking the same thing.

"Boys," Alpha William said as he rose to his feet, his tone shifting back to its usual professional calm. "I need both of you to keep this confidential for now. We don’t want to alarm Tatiana or her aunt. Understood?"

Percival and I nodded in unison, following him as we headed toward the door to greet Alpha Conor.

...

Outside, the wind had picked up, howling through the trees as dark clouds gathered, promising an impending storm. Positioned to the right of Percival, I felt the charged atmosphere between us as we waited.

Alpha Conor emerged from his Yukon Denali, a towering figure of about six foot five, nearly the same height as Alpha William. I knew he was thirty-eight, with sleek black hair, piercing blue eyes, and a well-kept goatee that framed his strong features. His very presence exuded confidence and authority, his physique imposing.

By his side stood his beta, a middle-aged man with blonde hair and brown eyes. Those eyes... something about them felt familiar, though I couldn’t quite place why.

"Alpha Conor. I’m glad you could join us," Alpha William greeted warmly, extending his forearm for a handshake. Conor nodded, reciprocating the gesture in the traditional way of wolves.

A wolf’s greeting.

We grasped each other's forearms firmly, forgoing handshakes in the traditional manner of wolves. Alpha Conor scanned the room, his keen eyes taking in every detail before settling on me. "Is this your oldest child?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity.

"No, this is my Beta's son, Nixx. He is the true mate of your daughter," Alpha William corrected, his voice steady and clear.

Alpha Conor's gaze sharpened as he turned his attention to me. He approached with a deliberate stride, his piercing eyes locking onto mine. I held my ground, standing tall, my expression composed and unyielding. I met his gaze head-on, unblinking, until the last possible moment when I respectfully shifted my focus to his neck, avoiding direct eye contact as a sign of deference.

Conor let out a low chuckle. "He has the makings of a leader, this one." His eyes moved to Percival, who stood perfectly still, mirroring my actions. "Ah, Future Alpha Percival," Conor remarked, his tone carrying a hint of amusement. "How have you been treating my daughter?"

Don’t look, Percival...

Percival’s gaze flickered momentarily to Conor's chest before he spoke. "She's been quite a handful, but she's doing well."

From the corner of my eye, I noticed my parents emerging from the pack house. My mother’s eyes widened in surprise, her mouth falling open.

"Daddy?" Tatiana's voice broke through the tension, surprising us all as she appeared from the side of the house with Anita by her side. Her swollen belly made it clear how long she had been here—just three months left until she would give birth to Percival’s pup, if she managed to survive that long.
