Chapter 101 INVOLVED WITH OTHER WOMAN
Edeline
"Edeline... I... what you saw..."
"No!" I snapped, my voice sharp as I bared my teeth at him. "You don’t have the right to speak to me. You’re powerless and incapable of taking any real action! Clearly, you’ve been deceived, and you fell for it because you lack the qualities of a true leader. It’s incredibly disappointing!" My anger was a roaring flame. I could almost feel the heat of it radiating off me, teasing his wolf. "I can’t wait until this mark fades away... I want no trace of you left on me. Your aunt, with her dubious reputation, just tried to harm Mirabelle. And here you are, showing affection toward her. It’s disgusting. You’re so naive and immature!" I was in his face now, every word dripping with fury.
The anger within me was boiling over. My wolf was livid, furious that her partner was involved with another woman. I was itching for a confrontation. Tatiana had vanished from sight, but Percival’s eyes had darkened, almost black, as if his wolf was pushing through. He seemed to have already started heading back to the pack house, his posture tense, his movements sharp.
"Retract that statement, Edeline. This is exactly what you wanted. If she deceived me, I’ll find out the truth. But right now, she’s the one who wants me, not you," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. We began to circle each other, our wolf instincts fully awake, sharp claws and teeth at the ready.
His Alpha pride was clearly wounded, and he was not pleased to have his authority questioned.
"I strongly advise against getting involved with someone who engages in promiscuous behavior and manipulates others to get what she wants. And just so you know, her aunt practices alternative healing methods. If you couldn’t detect her scent, maybe you need to rethink your skills." My voice was strained as I struggled to contain my wolf. Fur began to push through my pores, bones shifting audibly, mirroring his wolf’s transformation.
In an instant, we were crouched, growling fiercely at one another. My wolf was commanding me to retreat, but I refused to yield. I ruled this place, and I wasn’t going to back down. If Percival chose to turn his attention elsewhere, he would face the consequences.
With her hackles raised and ears pinned back, she lunged at him in a fury. But Percival was quick on his feet, dodging her attack with ease. They faced off, engaging in a fierce battle where their teeth clashed and snapped from all directions. Eventually, she landed a solid hit on his nose, leaving a deep cut that made him yelp in pain.
He whimpered briefly before launching himself toward me as I tried to back away. Without hesitation, she was ready to attack again. Percival growled, his large gray wolf pushing her back with force. The sound of her landing hard on the ground echoed through the clearing, followed by her pained cry. He swiftly clamped his teeth onto our neck, aiming to assert his dominance and force compliance.
Without our wolves by our side, the scene was even more intense. She struggled under his hold, his growls a mix of aggression and an attempt to calm her. Exhausted from the day’s events, she finally released a frustrated sigh and lay still, unable to free herself from her mate’s grip.
His growls gradually softened. She tilted her neck upward in submission, a gesture that made me inwardly cringe. Could this get any worse?
He released us, licking the blood from our necks. Leaning in close, he took a deep breath, pressing his nose against the spot where our shoulders met. There was a sudden shift within my wolf. It was as if she had shut down any interference between us, her instincts taking over with a possessive edge.
Percival’s wolf was still immersed in her fur when her anger flared up again. She sprang up, biting down forcefully and deeply into his neck, strengthening the bond between our wolves.
I felt a surge of frustration, silently trying to communicate my thoughts to her, but she wouldn’t listen. She was overwhelmed with joy, her instincts fully engaged.
A warm glow of contentment spread through her as she sensed his happiness. The mark they shared seemed to affect both wolves profoundly, filling them with an unparalleled sense of joy. Their connection was intense and undeniable.
I could feel his desires as clearly as he felt mine now. Lost in their euphoric state, he tripped and fell, partially landing on her. His chest emitted deep, rumbling sounds as they shared their mutual pleasure.
His wolf craved this intensely. So did mine.
But I didn’t.
As the haze of their shared euphoria began to clear, my focus returned. I felt vulnerable and alert, watching as he painstakingly realigned his bones and exposed his skin. With his head lowered, he gradually raised his gaze, looking at me with astonishment while I stared back in sheer terror.
I didn’t want this! A rush of anxiety surged through me as I struggled to catch my breath, my breaths coming in shallow gasps. Tears welled up in my eyes as I repeated, “No, no, no, no, no!” My voice was a desperate plea, a reflection of my utter disbelief and dread.
He suddenly seemed to snap out of his daze, rushing toward me with a look of raw panic in his eyes. Grabbing my shoulders tightly, he stared at me with a desperate urgency. "Edeline, please try to remain calm. It's not your fault, and I understand that you didn’t want this. Just take a moment to collect yourself," he said, his voice filled with a mix of worry and attempted comfort. But his words felt hollow, almost pointless against the storm of emotions raging inside me. When our skin touched, I felt a jolt of electric current surge through me, making me feel slightly dizzy.
Without hesitation, he lifted me effortlessly into his arms and carried me away, moving swiftly into the depths of the forest. He took me to a secluded sanctuary, far from where I had stumbled in. The sensation of his skin against mine was maddening, sending shivers through my body.
