Chapter 273 Good and Evil Will Be Repaid
Chapter 273 Good and Evil Will Be Repaid
Seeing the scene, the passersby gradually stopped, some recognizing them and covering their mouths in surprise, while others raised their phones to take pictures.
Cecilia's face turned red instantly. She opened her mouth but didn't know what to say.
Caroline, standing beside her, chuckled and nudged her gently with her elbow. "What are you waiting for? Say yes!"
"Don't you want to give Alaric a proper title?" Kian joined in, teasing.
Cecilia took a deep breath and suddenly smiled. She reached out to take the bouquet and said softly, "Okay."
Alaric stood up and pulled her into his arms. "I've been waiting for you to say that for a long time. I finally convinced Grandpa to agree to our marriage. If you back out now, I won't let you off easily."
As he spoke, he gently pinched Cecilia's healed left side, his eyes full of playful menace.
Cecilia understood the underlying meaning of his words, and her ears turned bright red. "I know, I never planned to refuse you."
Alaric laughed, leaned in, and kissed her forehead, then cupped her face. "When you were reborn, did you expect us to meet?"
"I just lived again; how could I know so much? Besides, we had no connection in my previous life."
Cecilia looked at him seriously. "But I know I love you now, and that's enough."
Caroline clasped her hands under her chin, smiling broadly. "Kiss! Kiss!"
With someone leading the cheer, the onlookers erupted into applause and cheers, some even whistling.
Alaric glanced around, raising an eyebrow, and watched Cecilia's expression with interest.
Cecilia gently pushed him, feeling overwhelmed by the atmosphere, her whole body heating up.
She swallowed hard, then suddenly leaned close to Alaric's face, closed her eyes, and kissed him.
"Congratulations!"
"Yes, yes, we support the beautiful and kind-hearted Cecilia ditching the jerk and getting remarried!"
The crowd's excitement grew, with cheers and screams echoing.
Kian quickly pulled out his phone to capture the moment. "Perfect! They look great together. This is going to be all over the internet!"
Caroline rolled her eyes at him but couldn't help smiling. "Of course."
Sunlight bathed the embracing couple, a gentle breeze scattering flower petals.
At the prison.
Tamsin sat dejectedly on the cold, hard bed, her hair messily tied back, her once exquisite makeup long gone, dark circles under her eyes, lips cracked, her whole demeanor exuding a gloomy madness.
Familiar footsteps sounded outside, and Henry, wearing a coat, approached, looking at her with a smirk.
He slowly took a newspaper from his bag and tossed it into the cell.
"Take a look at this," he said, his voice low and pleased.
Tamsin gritted her teeth in hatred. If it weren't for this vile man, she wouldn't be locked up here!
"It's about Julian and Cecilia. I suggest you read it," Henry said calmly. "You don't get many chances to hear news from outside in here."
Tamsin glared at him, stood up, rubbed her aching back, and picked up the newspaper.
The front page prominently featured a photo of Alaric kneeling to propose to Cecilia, with the headline: [Missing Cecilia Found Alive! Renowned International Businessman, Percy Group CEO, Proposes Romantically. Wedding Imminent!]
Her fingers clenched tightly, her teeth grinding.
"Damn Cecilia, how is she still alive?" she rasped. "Brielle sent people to kill her!"
"Let me out! Henry, you have to let me out! I have things to finish! I can tell you more!" Tamsin lunged at the bars, her expression terrifying. "I can help you destroy everyone!"
Henry chuckled. "The person I most want to destroy right now is you. You're no longer useful to me."
Tamsin's face turned pale. "No! I still have things to tell you. Don't you want to take down Cecilia? I know how to do it."
"Save it." Henry leaned in slightly, lowering his voice. "I'm not interested in Cecilia. As for you, do you think I don't know what's going on?"
"Let me tell you, your ability to remember past lives was an accident. I experimented on you with a new drug. Haven't you noticed that your memories don't match this life's events?"
Tamsin's pupils shrank, her body losing strength, sliding to the cold floor.
Of course, she knew.
Everything in this life had changed. Cecilia hadn't been driven to despair by Julian like in the past; instead, she had risen step by step and even ended up with Alaric.
And Tamsin, who should have been the ultimate winner, was now a prisoner!
"You're too stupid," Henry said coldly, looking down at her. "Too stupid to see your own situation clearly."
"If you were smarter, maybe things could have turned around. But now, you'll stay here, as punishment for killing your own mother. How does that sound?"
With a smile, he turned and left, his footsteps echoing in the empty corridor.
"Come back! Henry! Come back!" Tamsin snapped out of her daze, grabbing the bars and screaming hysterically.
"I hate it here! Let me out! Do you hear me? I'm the wife of the Russell Group's CEO! How dare you treat me like this!"
The guards rushed in, roughly dragging her to the bed, shackling her to restrict her movements.
She struggled and screamed like a trapped beast until her throat was hoarse and she could no longer make a sound.
"Is this woman crazy?"
"Maybe. Julian just announced his divorce from Cecilia, and now she's fantasizing about being the CEO's wife."
"Really pitiful."
As night fell, Henry's car finally reached its destination.
Moonlight streamed through the broken stained glass windows of the church, casting mottled shadows on the floor.
Christopher stood on the platform, his back to Henry, his long black coat swaying slightly in the night breeze.
"You're late," he said, his voice low and cold.
Henry stepped into the church, his shoes making a soft sound on the wooden floor.
"Sorry, Mr. Taylor. I got held up on the way." He smiled, casually extinguishing his cigarette in the wall-mounted candle holder.
Christopher slowly turned, his pale face and blood-red eyes starkly visible in the darkness.
He spoke coldly, "How did it go?"
