Chapter 93 You Replace Her
After returning from Stellar High School, Olivia had been restless and anxious.
She deliberately tried not to think about Isabella's cheating.
But she knew she was just fooling herself.
Everyone outside must already know. The news must have spread throughout the entire circle. Everyone knew that Olivia's daughter had cheated, and they were all talking about her behind her back.
Just thinking about this made Olivia feel suffocated.
Isabella had completely embarrassed her.
At eight in the evening, Yves hurried in from outside.
"Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Blair are here."
Olivia's heart tightened at the news. "What are they doing here?"
"Mrs. Taylor, have you forgotten? You invited them over to chat today."
Only after being reminded did Olivia remember, and she felt full of regret.
Why did it have to be now?
Olivia reluctantly got up to greet them. Before she had taken a few steps, she heard footsteps coming from outside.
Several wealthy ladies walked in with smiles on their faces.
"Mrs. Taylor, we're here."
"Mrs. Taylor, that new potted plant at your door is so beautiful. Where did you buy it?"
Olivia looked at them and forced a smile. "It's from a newly opened plant shop. If you like it, I can give you the address."
"Great, I'll check it out sometime."
After exchanging pleasantries, they went up to the lounge on the second floor.
Olivia kept clenching her palms, afraid they would bring up the exam results. That would only make her feel completely humiliated.
But the more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen.
As soon as they sat down, someone brought it up.
"Mrs. Taylor, your daughter is amazing. We all heard she got first place in the grade."
Olivia's hand paused as she reached for her coffee.
Bianca got first place in the grade?
She really hadn't expected that. Up until now, she had been fixated on Isabella's plagiarism and hadn't had time to ask Bianca about her results. Bianca had gone to her piano makeup lesson tonight, with Gabriel accompanying her, and they hadn't returned yet.
Olivia couldn't help but feel happy for Bianca, but she only smiled lightly. "Bianca has always worked hard."
The lady looked up at these words. "Bianca?"
Olivia noticed the lady's surprised expression. "What's wrong?"
The ladies exchanged glances. "Isn't first place your biological daughter Isabella?"
Olivia froze.
"What?"
She looked at the ladies in confusion. "Wasn't Isabella's score cancelled because of cheating?"
Besides, even if she had cheated, she couldn't have gotten first place in the grade.
The lady put down her dessert. "Who said that?"
Olivia opened her mouth to say something, then heard another lady say, "What? Olivia, you don't know yet? Your daughter didn't cheat at all. The school's academic director made a mistake because she scored too high—a full 1440 points!"
Olivia was stunned.
1440 points?
This was Isabella's actual score?
How was that possible?
Isabella's previous grades were so poor. How could she score so high this time? Even Bianca couldn't get that kind of score.
Looking at her expression, the ladies immediately understood that Olivia really didn't know. They laughed. "I have to say... Olivia, what kind of mother are you? You don't even know how much your own biological daughter scored or whether she plagiarized?"
"Even I heard about it, and you're completely clueless."
"Right, I heard that to verify the score, the school had your Isabella go on stage in front of the whole school and do a math test."
"Isabella finished it in just over half an hour, and the teacher graded it on the spot—perfect score!"
"So that academic director had nothing to say."
Olivia: "..."
She had no idea about any of this.
Thinking back to meeting Marlowe at school that morning, she had also started by saying her daughter did well on the exam.
Could it be...
She was talking about Isabella?
Realizing this, Olivia's heart pounded. 1440 points—that was enough to pick from any top university in the country.
And this was Isabella's score.
How did she do it?
Olivia felt both surprised and regretful.
She should have gone into the school to see.
For the rest of the chat, Olivia was somewhat dazed.
——
Weekend, school playground.
It was packed with people.
All there to watch Abigail run laps.
At first, Abigail didn't think it was a big deal, but when she walked over and saw the crowd of people on the playground, her legs went weak and she almost fell.
"Abigail, what's wrong?" Evelyn caught Abigail.
Abigail's face looked terrible.
However strongly she had felt when humiliating Isabella, she now felt equally regretful.
Being punished in front of so many people—she really couldn't... accept it.
"Isabella, they're here."
Violet spotted Abigail and the others from afar, a mocking smile crossing her face.
Aurora had already prepared a pen and handed it directly to Isabella. "Isabella, use this pen to write on her face later!"
Isabella looked at the thick, large pen in Aurora's hand, and the corner of her mouth twitched slightly.
Violet laughed out loud. "I didn't know you could be so ruthless, Aurora."
"Abigail, you really shouldn't have made this bet with Isabella." Another girl from the international class looked at the scene on the playground. "If you run today, you'll become the laughingstock of the entire school, believe it or not?"
Abigail pressed her lips together. She was already thinking about running away.
But what could she do?
"I'll go talk to Isabella for you." The girl walked straight toward Isabella. "Isabella, I'm Skylar Tate from International Class 1. Abigail is my deskmate."
Isabella looked at her and got straight to the point. "What do you want to say to me?"
"I know Abigail was wrong to let things get this far, and I'll have her apologize to you. But with so many people on the playground today... I wanted to ask if you could..."
Isabella played with the pen in her hand casually. "No."
A straightforward refusal.
"Things will go as they should."
She glanced at Abigail hiding in the back. "Hurry up and come over."
Abigail didn't move, but Bianca did.
She stepped forward. "Isabella, can you let Abigail go..."
Before Bianca could finish, Isabella said directly, "Sure."
Unlike her cold attitude toward Skylar, Isabella now had a smile in her eyes. "I'll listen to you. I can let Abigail go."
Bianca was first stunned, then delighted, and smiled. "Thank you, Isabella."
Isabella looked at the innocent, harmless smile on Bianca's face—so flawless you couldn't see a single crack. She paused, then said:
"Since you and Abigail are such good friends, you can take her place."
Isabella's fingertips gently brushed the brush bristles that hadn't yet touched ink. "Don't worry, I won't write on your face. I'll just draw a cute little animal on your face, okay?"
The smile on Bianca's face immediately disappeared.
