Chapter 82 Master is the Number One Beauty of Emerald City
Violet held up her phone to show Isabella and Aurora, "Don't you think these scammers nowadays are ridiculous? He actually claims to be Lawrence. Does he really think he can impersonate my Lawrence just by using a profile picture? Does he think I'm stupid?"
Aurora frowned, "This person is really dumb. How could Lawrence possibly add someone on Facebook himself?"
Violet put away her phone and ignored the message.
If he was Lawrence, then she might as well be Lawrence's girlfriend.
Isabella parted ways with them at the intersection, "I'm going to the convenience store at the school gate."
With that, she quickly ran off in another direction, heading straight to the back gate of the school.
William was waiting for her at their usual spot.
William was finally no longer wearing his formal black suit like before. Instead, he had changed into a more casual-style shirt, which undoubtedly showed off his physique. Isabella could even see the firm muscle lines beneath his shirt.
Combined with his long, straight legs, he looked incredibly handsome.
She wondered what kind of body she would see if William took off his clothes...
Isabella's face turned red at the thought.
"Why is your face so red?"
William looked her over, "Are you sick?"
Isabella quickly shook her head, "No."
She felt a bit dirty-minded. William was perfectly well-dressed, yet she was fantasizing about those inappropriate images.
William reached out to feel her forehead.
No fever.
He held two ice creams in his hand and asked her, "Do you like eating these?"
Isabella's eyes lit up immediately when she saw William had brought her something delicious again.
"I love them!"
When she was little, her master used to buy them for her often, but her master had been missing for three years now, and she hadn't eaten ice cream bought by her master since then.
William tore off the ice cream wrapper for her and handed it to her.
Isabella eagerly took the ice cream and started eating.
William watched from the side, a smile touching the corners of his eyes.
Halfway through her ice cream, Isabella suddenly looked up at him, "William, can you help me find someone?"
"Who?"
"My master."
William raised his eyebrows slightly, "The one who taught you to fight?"
"No." Isabella shook her head, "Actually, I lied to you before."
Without realizing it, Isabella had lost much of her fear of William and spoke about lying to him without hesitation.
"My master isn't someone who knows martial arts. She's just an ordinary person who lived at a temple, the person who raised me."
When the Taylor Family found her, they thought she had been adopted by her grandparents in town, but that wasn't actually the case.
She hadn't grown up with her grandparents.
She had been found by her master. From her earliest memories, she had depended on her master.
Until three years ago, when her master rescued her grandfather who had broken his leg at the foot of the mountain, they met. Later, her master said she needed to register Isabella at a school in town so she could take the SAT, so she asked her grandparents to help with the adoption paperwork. That's how her grandparents became her legal adoptive parents.
Her grandparents were very good to her. From then on, they really treated her like their own granddaughter, thinking of her whenever they had anything good. To her, they were better than real family.
But not long after that, a big fire broke out at the temple, and her master disappeared after that fire.
In her previous life, even after returning to the Taylor Family, she never gave up searching for her master's whereabouts, but she never found her master until her death.
She didn't even know if her master was still alive.
"Do you remember what your master looks like?" William asked her.
Hearing him say this, Isabella realized he was planning to help her find her master.
"I remember!"
Isabella took out a pen and a crumpled piece of scratch paper from her pocket, smoothed it out, and drew a portrait of her master on it.
In the portrait, the little figure had hands on hips, hair flying, one eye bigger than the other, nostrils facing outward, pouting lips, arms and legs the same length, with a plump waist...
"My master is very beautiful!" Isabella said proudly, "Master said before she lived at the temple, she was the number one beauty in Emerald City!"
William stared at the paper, looking at the abstract little figure, his mouth twitching.
"I can tell, she's indeed very... beautiful."
He folded the crumpled paper and put it in his pants pocket, "I'll look into it when I get back."
——
That evening, Isabella returned to her dorm and once again received a call from the owner of that long string of numbers.
Isabella thought there was another mission, but after answering, she heard the other person ask:
"NO.10, my system shows you still haven't logged into the organization's internal system?"
Isabella then remembered this matter.
The other person had sent that link to her phone a long time ago. She had clicked on it, but the page showed "incompatible device."
She didn't know what went wrong. She had planned to ask about it, but then realized she couldn't contact the BOSS on her own initiative, so she temporarily set the matter aside.
Isabella immediately explained the situation to the other person.
"The device incompatibility is because you haven't received the organization's dedicated phone yet." The other person said, "Your current location shows you're at Stellar High School. Go out the school gate and turn left for five hundred meters. There's a coffee shop. Go wait inside, and I'll have someone deliver the phone to you."
After hanging up, Isabella immediately followed the instructions and went to that coffee shop.
It was empty inside.
Isabella had heard Violet mention this coffee shop before. The coffee was so terrible that everyone knew about it, so no one came here.
Isabella didn't believe it and ordered a cup. After one sip, her face immediately scrunched up.
Just then, the coffee shop door was pushed open again.
A young man in a black hoodie looked around at the entrance, his gaze immediately locking onto her, and then he ran toward her.
"Boss! I finally get to meet you! How come you still don't even have a phone? People who don't know might think you're a newbie!"
Isabella: "?"
"Boss? What boss?"
The young man looked confused seeing her innocent and bewildered expression, "Aren't you my boss?"
Isabella blinked blankly, "I don't know. I'm here to get a phone."
"Then that's right! I'm here to deliver your phone!"
The young man took off his backpack, first pulling out a computer, then taking out a black phone.
He first connected the phone and computer with a data cable, apparently transferring something, then handed the phone to Isabella.
"This phone was developed internally by the organization. It's a phone-computer combo with all the functions of a computer."
"Most importantly, you can only log into the organization's internal system and receive internal messages with this device."
Isabella took the phone and glanced at him while registering and logging in, "Who are you?"
"I'm your subordinate." The young man looked at her intently, "I'm Austin Roberts. Do you know me?"
Isabella: "I don't."
Apart from the person who called her, she didn't know anyone else in the organization.
