Chapter 66 The Gaze Towards Juniper Has Changed
"Violet! Isabella!"
Scarlett, who had been waiting at the bar entrance, saw them and immediately jogged over with an anxious look on her face.
Not only that, Aurora was there too.
"Violet, are you okay? Do you know how worried everyone was? You didn't answer your phone or reply to any messages." Scarlett was both concerned and complaining.
Violet looked at her apologetically and explained, "My phone died."
Then Violet glanced sideways at Isabella and asked Scarlett, "Did you call Isabella here?"
Scarlett nodded, "I couldn't reach you, so I went to ask Isabella if she had any news about you. When Isabella heard you were missing, she came to find you right away."
Scarlett didn't forget to put in a good word for Isabella at this moment, "See, Isabella was so worried about you, afraid something happened to you. She came to find you right away even though it's so late."
Violet's expression softened when she heard this, but she quickly hid her emotions, "Who asked you to tell her? What if she reports me to the teacher again?"
"Violet, don't say that. Isabella isn't what you think."
Isabella looked at Violet and frowned, "After what just happened, even if I don't report you, you're not seriously planning to keep singing here, are you?"
That man would definitely come looking for Violet again.
Scarlett looked at them confused, "What happened?"
Isabella said with a cold face, "Some man was harassing Violet."
Scarlett and Aurora's expressions changed dramatically when they heard this, "What? That's too dangerous. Violet, you shouldn't come back to this bar anymore."
While Aurora and Scarlett were busy worrying about Violet, Isabella looked around and noticed that Juniper hadn't come out yet.
She, Scarlett, Aurora, and Juniper had all taken the same cab here.
After entering the bar, Juniper and she had split up to look for Violet.
Isabella had circled the entire bar twice before finding Violet at the door of the break room.
Isabella asked Aurora, "Hasn't Juniper come out yet?"
Scarlett shook her head, "No."
"Could she still be inside looking for Violet?"
Aurora was startled and quickly took out her phone to message Juniper.
[Juniper, come out quickly. Isabella already found Violet.]
Juniper replied with an "okay."
Soon after, Juniper came out of the bar. Her eyes landed on Violet and she immediately hugged her, "Violet, I'm so glad you're okay!"
"I was so worried inside. I couldn't find you anywhere."
Isabella looked Juniper up and down, "Were you really looking for Violet? I think you're the one who was hoping something would happen to Violet."
Juniper froze when she heard this.
The others also looked at Isabella in confusion.
"Isabella, what do you mean?" Juniper let go of Violet, her gaze turning cold as she looked at Isabella. "Just because you found Violet and I didn't, you're saying I hoped something would happen to Violet?"
Violet also thought Isabella's words were strange and seemed malicious, and her expression immediately soured, "Isabella, don't talk nonsense."
"I'm talking nonsense?" Isabella raised an eyebrow and said coldly, "Juniper, if you have the guts, admit it in front of everyone! Last weekend, who did you go shopping with, and who did you go to the movies with?"
The moment Juniper heard this, her face turned pale and she looked at Violet in panic.
Last week, she had naturally gone shopping and to the movies with Charles.
But how did Isabella suddenly bring this up? Did she see them?
"Isabella, why are you bringing this up?" Violet frowned, "Who Juniper goes shopping and to the movies with is her business. What does it have to do with us?"
Isabella narrowed her eyes slightly, "What if I told you that the person Juniper went shopping and to the movies with was your boyfriend Charles? Would you still think it has nothing to do with you?"
Violet froze.
"What did you say?"
She looked at Isabella in disbelief.
Aurora was also stunned, "Last weekend, Violet wanted to go to a newly opened scenic spot and called Charles to go with her, but Charles said he wasn't feeling well and just wanted to rest in his dorm, but... how could he be with Juniper? And... shopping, watching movies..."
Hearing this, even the usually innocent Scarlett was confused.
So Charles lied to Violet about not feeling well and not wanting to go to the scenic area with her, but went shopping with Juniper instead?
She suddenly remembered something.
"Last weekend when Juniper came back from outside, she was carrying bags full of stuff - clothes, shoes, and jewelry..."
At the time, Juniper had said it was from an online friend who was pursuing her and came to see her, and that all those things were gifts from that online friend.
Everyone's eyes on Juniper changed.
If Juniper really secretly went shopping and on a date with Charles, what did that make Violet? Wasn't Juniper someone who breaks up other people's relationships? And the target was her good friend's boyfriend.
Simply... too shameless.
Even though Violet was slow to catch on, she now connected it to Charles's strange behavior on the phone that day, and Juniper's evasiveness.
She clenched her fists and looked at Juniper with piercing eyes, "Is what Isabella said true? That day you and Charles... were you really dating behind my back?"
Juniper's face looked terrible, her palms trembling.
"No, Violet, it's not like that."
She thought of something, glanced at Isabella with disgust, and anxiously explained to Violet, "Don't believe her. Someone who would report you behind your back - Violet, her words can't be trusted! The only reason she's saying this is to drive a wedge between you and me!"
"I didn't even see Charles that day. The person I went shopping with was just an online friend!"
"Really?"
"Really, Violet, even if I dated any other guy in the world, I would never date Charles. I could never do something to betray you! I'm not like certain people!"
Violet looked at Juniper's determined eyes and couldn't help but dismiss some of her doubts.
Having known Juniper for so many years and considering her as her best friend, how could Juniper possibly be with Charles behind her back?
Juniper wasn't that kind of person.
As Violet calmed down, she realized that all of this was just Isabella's one-sided story, and because it involved Charles, she had almost lost her mind and accused Juniper...
