Chapter 422 New Chairman
Hayden patted Chase on the shoulder, "When you see Isabella later, remember to say some nice things. Care about her like a brother should, got it?"
Chase nodded absentmindedly, "Yeah, I know."
Chase and Hayden soon spotted Isabella.
Chase stepped forward, staring intently at Isabella. He said unhappily, "Isabella, are you really planning to replace Dad and me at the shareholders' meeting and kick us out of the Taylor Group?"
"Don't you care about our past relationship at all?"
He had originally planned to sweet-talk Isabella, but thinking about what she was about to do, it was clear she didn't respect him as her older brother at all.
He was in a bad mood.
Isabella shouldn't be such a heartless person, right? Did she really not care about family ties at all?
"If you still want to come back to this family and live with us, then you should stop now and not make any more mistakes."
Isabella raised her eyes slightly, her gaze falling on Chase. As if she hadn't heard Chase's questioning at all, she simply said coolly, "So you're here? Been waiting for you guys for a while. Since you're here, let's hurry into the conference room. The sooner I get you removed, the sooner I can go back to Novaria."
Chase's face looked terrible.
He was furious. Seeing Isabella about to walk toward the conference room, he immediately said through gritted teeth, "Isabella, you can't do this. I'm your older brother!"
Isabella paused briefly, looked back at Chase, a playful smile on her lips, "Chase, stop claiming me as your sister, okay? I don't have a brother like you."
Chase wanted to say more, but Isabella said coldly, "Don't try to play the family card with me right now. It just makes you look fake."
Chase was instantly speechless, not knowing what to say.
He could only follow Isabella into the conference room.
Hayden glared at Chase with frustration, "This is how you sweet-talk her?"
He was truly amazed.
Chase's face darkened, his mood growing heavier.
Isabella walked into the conference room, and the secretary quickly came up to greet her.
"Ms. Taylor, you're here. All the shareholders have arrived, and the meeting can start right away."
At the same time, all the shareholders' eyes focused on Isabella.
Hayden and Chase seemed like mere accessories.
Neither of them looked pleased.
"I'll sit in this seat, no problem with that, right?" Isabella smiled as she glanced at the head seat.
Before Hayden could say anything, the secretary and shareholders all spoke up: "Of course, no problem."
"Ms. Taylor, no need to be polite. We all know the purpose of this meeting. As the person with the highest shareholding percentage, you should naturally become the new chairman. There's no question about it."
Others chimed in: "That's right, we've discussed it privately too. We fully support Ms. Taylor as chairman!"
All their shares combined only amounted to thirty percent. How could they possibly oppose Isabella?
Besides, under Hayden and Chase's leadership these years, the Taylor Group had been declining. If it weren't for Isabella's relationship with William, the Taylor Group wouldn't have survived this crisis.
The chairman position should naturally go to someone who could make the Taylor Group profitable.
With William's help, Isabella would definitely lead the Taylor Group forward, and these shareholders would get bigger dividends each year. Why not?
Watching these shareholders fawn over Isabella, Chase's face instantly turned red with anger.
He slammed the table and stood up, "You shareholders are way too opportunistic! Don't forget who founded the Taylor Group. Without my dad, would you even exist?"
"Now the Taylor Group just has a small problem, and you've all switched sides. You're all ungrateful people!"
"Chase, that's not how you should put it," one shareholder said. "The Taylor Group has been losing money every year, and we haven't received dividends for years. Have we complained?"
"But the Taylor Group's situation keeps getting worse. All of us shareholders here have families to support, and we rely on annual dividends to make a living. So we have our own difficulties. What's wrong with putting the Taylor Group under someone with connections and backing?"
"Exactly, Chase. If you could connect with someone as powerful as William, as Ms. Taylor has, we'd have no reason not to support you."
Chase's face immediately darkened.
A bunch of shameless people who only care about profit.
Just then, Isabella spoke: "Since everyone has no objections, starting today, Hayden and Chase's positions at the Taylor Group are removed, and I will take over as chairman."
"I agree."
"I agree too."
"Agreed."
In an instant, all the shareholders voted in favor.
...
"You, you..." Seeing the situation was lost, Hayden clutched his chest in anger, glaring at Isabella.
He simply couldn't believe that one day he would be forced out by his own daughter.
Hayden suddenly felt he couldn't breathe, and he passed out.
"Dad!" Chase held onto Hayden tightly.
"Quick, call an ambulance, hurry!"
For a moment, the scene descended into chaos.
Seeing Hayden faint from anger, Isabella's face remained completely unmoved.
Chase really hadn't expected Isabella to be this ruthless when she wanted to be, not even caring about her biological father's life or death.
"Isabella, you've really opened my eyes!" Chase pointed at Isabella, furious. "So what if you become chairman? You're inhuman, you've betrayed family ties! I won't let you off easy. I'll make you carry this bad reputation, never able to show your face in public!"
Hearing this, Isabella just smiled coldly, saying nothing.
——
Hospital.
This time, Hayden was really angry to the point that he almost didn't make it.
The Taylor family members gathered around his bed, all looking grim, with Olivia wiping away tears.
Just then, the hospital room door was pushed open.
Isabella stood at the doorway. Seeing that Hayden was still alive, she looked somewhat disappointed. "How lucky…"
Hearing this, Hayden couldn't catch his breath again, clutching his chest and trembling.
Olivia quickly put the oxygen mask on him.
She turned to look at Isabella, her face dark, "After doing such a thing, you came here specifically to upset your father. Do you have no heart?"
"He couldn't control his own emotions," Isabella said dismissively. "He should really work on his emotional management."
"You ungrateful daughter!" Olivia was infuriated by her attitude. "How did I give birth to a daughter like you?"
If she had known, she shouldn't have brought her back in the first place.
Isabella was an ungrateful person!
