Chapter 398 I Became His Father
The next day.
Radiant University.
Orville was in class.
The professor was explaining a problem when suddenly, the classroom door was kicked open.
The professor looked at Isabella, who had suddenly appeared at the doorway, slightly startled. "You are..."
"I'm Isabella from the Class of '89 Physics program, Professor. Sorry for the interruption."
Isabella spoke politely, but her tone was cold.
A group of noble students looked at Isabella in confusion, not knowing what she was there for.
Orville was also shocked.
Orville was sitting in a seat by the aisle, and Isabella walked straight toward him.
Realizing she was coming for him, Orville frowned. "What do you want?"
Without a word, Isabella lifted her foot.
Orville was kicked along with his desk, flying straight into the wall.
All the noble students stared in disbelief, eyes wide.
The professor's expression instantly became serious. "Isabella, what are you doing? No violence allowed!"
Isabella glanced back at him.
In that instant, the professor met Isabella's eyes and fell into an unconscious state.
Seeing this scene, someone in the class realized what was happening and cried out: "A hypnotist! She's a hypnotist!"
Orville's eyes widened slightly. Before he could react, his collar was grabbed.
Orville was thrown out again, crashing into a pile of desks and chairs.
Orville felt like his whole body was falling apart from the pain.
He glared at Isabella, eyes blazing with fury. "You're asking for death!"
Orville got up from the floor, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and stared at Isabella with hatred in his eyes, raising his hand to attack her.
But the next second, his body seemed frozen in place, unable to move.
Disbelief flashed in Orville's eyes. "How... how is this possible?"
His limbs seemed out of his control.
Isabella picked up a broken table leg and slowly walked toward Orville. Her eyes carried a hint of blood-red, deathly still, like the eyes of hell, radiating the aura of death itself.
At the same time, everyone present felt this threatening presence.
A powerful hypnotist, like a powerful ancient martial arts professional, could intimidate people just by releasing their psychic power.
Looking into Isabella's eyes, Orville felt his blood flowing backward, his breathing inexplicably becoming difficult. He felt like he'd been thrown into the deep sea, with water constantly pressing down on him. He felt like his internal organs were about to be crushed.
He knew this feeling was just an illusion, but it was so realistic that he felt like he was truly dying.
Orville's face turned pale. Isabella's gaze terrified him, and a strong sense of fear rose from the bottom of his feet.
"You, you really..."
"I should have warned Garth before not to mess with Kennedy, but it seems you didn't listen?"
Isabella's low voice carried an oppressive force.
Orville suppressed the fear in his heart and cursed angrily: "You bitch! You think we won't touch him just because you say so? Who do you think you are? What do you want to do? Kill me? You dare? I'm the heir of the Hope family. In the future—"
Not patient enough to let him finish, Isabella raised her hand and swung the table leg hard at Orville's face.
Half of Orville's face instantly became bloody and mangled.
His face was knocked to the side, but his body still couldn't move.
"What about your future?" Isabella smiled coldly.
"You'll become the head of the Hope family in the future, and then you can do whatever you want, right? So do you think if I cripple you, can you still become the head of the Hope family? Can you still inherit the Hope family?"
A cold gleam appeared in Isabella's eyes. She suddenly raised her hand, grabbed Orville's collar with one hand, and with the other hand, holding the broken table leg, stabbed it directly into Orville's body.
More precisely, into his lower abdomen.
Where an ancient martial arts professional's Inner Energy gathers.
There's a place in the lower abdomen where meridians converge, which is the core for ancient martial arts professionals.
As the table leg pierced Orville's body, intense pain struck.
This pain was a hundred times stronger than pierced flesh.
Orville looked down in disbelief.
Blood flowed from his body along the table leg.
"You actually..." Orville clutched his wound, looking at Isabella through gritted teeth, still unable to believe that she dared... dared to do this to him at Radiant University, in front of so many people.
"You... don't want to live anymore?"
"You dare cripple me..."
Isabella looked at him coldly. "Why wouldn't I dare? What makes you think I wouldn't dare?"
"Just because you can hurt people at will, I can't?"
"Orville, think about the consequences before you do things. I didn't take your life—I'm already being nice."
"You..." Orville's pupils contracted.
He glared at Isabella hatefully, swinging his fist at her unwillingly.
Orville's body flew out again.
Under the tremendous force, the table leg went straight through his body.
Orville spat out a mouthful of blood and passed out completely.
Watching this violent and brutal scene, everyone was stunned.
Isabella turned and left Orville's classroom.
On her way back to the physics department, she saw Theodosia rushing toward Orville's classroom.
Theodosia had received a message from Orville's classmate saying Orville had been nearly beaten to death, so she rushed over.
She didn't expect to run into Isabella halfway. She stopped and called out to Isabella with a dark expression: "Why are you coming from the math class classroom?"
"You want to know?" Isabella glanced at her.
Theodosia stared at her, not understanding what she meant.
Isabella smiled. "Go back and tell your father that if he can't control his son, I'll have to be the father for him. But if I discipline his son for him, I'll be stricter. Maybe next time, it won't be as simple as crippling him."
Theodosia couldn't believe it. She glared at Isabella with fury. "You're the one who crippled my brother?"
"That's right."
Isabella dropped this line and walked away.
——
The news that Isabella had barged into the math class classroom and crippled Orville quickly spread throughout Radiant University.
Orville was taken to the hospital for treatment, and supposedly Garth came in person and went to the hospital with Orville.
"She crippled Orville?"
Jasmine couldn't believe it when she heard the news.
How dare she?
Garth was not someone to mess with.
Isabella actually dared to cripple Orville directly. Had she thought about the consequences? Could Isabella bear the Hope family's anger?
"And with so many people there, how did Isabella manage to break into the classroom and cripple Orville all by herself? Didn't anyone around stop her? Didn't the teacher stop her?"
"Right, I heard class was still in session at the time." Hestia was also puzzled.
Selene asked someone she knew in the math class about what happened, and the answer shocked her.
"Isabella is actually... a hypnotist?"
"What!" Both Jasmine and Hestia were stunned.
"My friend said that as soon as Isabella entered the classroom, she hypnotized the teacher. Everyone else was also affected—some couldn't speak, some couldn't move at all. Orville just stood there unable to move while Isabella stabbed him directly with the table leg, and that's how she... crippled him."
As Selene spoke, she herself was incredibly shocked.
Isabella was really... too bold.
She could have crippled Orville when no one was around, but she deliberately chose to do it during class.
Wasn't this just fearlessness? She wasn't afraid of being seen or of anyone stopping her.
"Isabella is actually a dual practitioner of ancient martial arts and hypnosis." Jasmine was shocked by this.
In all of Novaria, the ratio of ancient martial arts professionals to hypnotists was about 100:1. Hypnotists were extremely rare, so she hadn't seen many hypnotists at Radiant University. For example, in this class, as far as she knew, there were no hypnotists.
But Isabella was a hypnotist.
And a dual practitioner of ancient martial arts and hypnosis.
Cecilia listened to their discussion, her expression somewhat dazed.
Isabella was actually this powerful?
How could she not tell at all?
Someone with the dual ability of ancient martial arts and hypnosis, even if she wasn't born into nobility, could join any family she wanted, and no family would refuse her. Even the seven great families would treasure such a rare talent.
Saskia heard everyone discussing this and pressed her lips together without speaking.
Hearing that Isabella had crippled Orville, she wasn't surprised at all.
Everyone didn't know Isabella was the young lady of the Powell family, which is why they found it so unbelievable.
In front of the Powell family, her small Fuller family was nothing, and the Hope family was nothing either.
She could even guess that the reason Delmar died was because he had offended Isabella.
Saskia suddenly felt somewhat fortunate that she had learned Isabella's identity early on. At least she wouldn't end up like Delmar, losing her life, or like Orville, being crippled.
