Chapter 376 Why Don't You Join Us, the Puckett Family
A man in a black uniform got out of the lead car.
He walked toward Isabella with over twenty subordinates dressed in special forces gear.
Coming before Isabella, the man gave a respectful salute, "Ms. Powell, hello."
"I'm Dorian Powell, leader of the Powell Family Army's Central Region Unit 003. My ID number is 003001, and my rank is Major General."
The others also respectfully saluted Isabella.
Isabella's gaze swept over these twenty-plus people. Seeing them well-equipped and in good shape, she nodded with satisfaction.
"I'm entrusting my friends to you. No one is allowed to enter their hospital room without permission. If their safety isn't guaranteed, that's on you."
"Understood!" Dorian nodded firmly.
Dorian made a gesture, and the group immediately followed him into the hospital.
The commotion was big enough to attract a lot of attention.
Calista had just come out of the hospital room when she saw over twenty people in special forces uniforms walking toward her. Her face went pale, thinking they were sent by Garth.
She stepped back twice, looking at them in panic: "You... what do you want? Tell Garth we'll give him the shares. My daughter just came out of the emergency room yesterday, she can't handle any more stress..."
Dorian stopped and nodded politely to Calista, "Hello, are you Calista?"
Calista was stunned, nodding hesitantly, "Yes, you... who are you..."
Dorian took out his credentials from his jacket pocket and handed them over, "We're here under orders to protect you."
"Protect?"
Calista opened Dorian's credentials and looked at them. When she saw the information clearly, her pupils shrank slightly.
"You're from the Powell Family Army?"
Looking at the insignia on the left sleeve of their uniforms, it was indeed the Powell Family Army's symbol, and the man before her was at least a Major General!
"Calista, rest assured, from today on we'll protect your safety closely. No one will hurt you!"
After speaking, those in special forces uniforms immediately split into two teams, guarding both sides of the hospital room.
Calista watched this scene in amazement, stunned, her eyes full of disbelief.
Were these the people Isabella said she'd send to protect them?
This was the Powell family's own army, which couldn't possibly take orders from anyone outside the Powell family.
What was Isabella's background?
Calista returned to the hospital room and told Kennedy about the situation outside.
"Kennedy, we don't need to be afraid anymore. Just focus on recovering. With the Powell family's army here, Garth can't hurt us anymore."
Calista gently held Kennedy's hand. No matter what, with the Powell family's army watching outside, she felt very secure and no longer had to fear Garth coming to take them from the hospital at any moment.
The most intimidating thing about the Powell Family Army wasn't how good their combat skills were, but that they were the Powell family's army. If Garth dared to confront the Powell family's army, he'd better be prepared to offend the Powell family.
——
The Puckett family castle.
Learning that Isabella had arrived, Wilford brought the First Elder Sullivan Puckett to personally receive her.
Wilford came to the entrance. He looked deeply at Isabella. Facing someone who practiced both ancient martial arts and hypnosis, no one could take her lightly.
"Follow me."
Wilford led her into the castle and soon brought Isabella to Delmar's room.
"Begin," Wilford said.
Isabella glanced at Delmar sitting on the bed playing with blocks. She didn't rush to act, but spoke instead: "First give me the evidence of Garth attacking the Powell family."
"No way. If I give you the thing first, how can you guarantee you'll definitely cure my son?" Wilford stared at Isabella warily. "You need to cure my son first."
Isabella asked back: "You'll keep your word, right?"
"Of course."
"Fine."
Isabella's lips curved slightly in what looked like a smile, but her voice carried a hint of threatening coldness, "I can cure Delmar first, but if you lie to me, I'll definitely make you pay."
With that, she walked toward Delmar.
Delmar was playing with the blocks in his hands, first shaking them, then trying to put them together.
Isabella grabbed Delmar's neck with one hand.
The foolish Delmar was startled and opened his eyes wide to look at Isabella.
"What are you doing? Let me go!"
"Mom, save me!"
Others couldn't feel it, but a powerful psychic power poured into Delmar's consciousness. Isabella's eyes gradually transformed into complete blackness, like an unfathomably deep, cold pool.
Delmar's crying turned into painful screaming.
As if tens of thousands of needles were randomly stabbing in his brain, Delmar grimaced in pain, his face twisted. He pounded his own head hard, "My head, my head hurts so much!"
"Let... let me go, please... please, let me go, it really hurts!"
Delmar passed out from the pain.
"Delmar!" Wilford rushed over to support Delmar.
Isabella glanced at him, "He's fine. He'll be okay when he wakes up."
Hearing this, Wilford felt relieved. He helped Delmar lie flat on the bed.
"Sullivan, watch over Delmar."
Then he looked at Isabella again, "Come with me."
Wilford led Isabella out of the room to the main hall.
Isabella spoke: "I've cured Delmar. The thing I want..."
"I can't give that to you." Wilford interrupted her directly, his voice somewhat cold. "When too many people know a secret, it's no longer a secret."
He still needed to use this to exchange for thirty percent of Summit Technologies Group's shares from Garth, so naturally he couldn't give the thing to Isabella.
Isabella laughed, "So what you said before was bullshit?"
Hearing this, Wilford wasn't angry. Instead, he rolled his eyes, and after a moment spoke: "We can do this another way."
"How about you join the Puckett family from now on? With your abilities, I can not only give you endless money, but also a position second only to me. I can guarantee that even the eight elders of the Puckett family will respect you."
She was only eighteen, a genius who practiced both hypnosis and ancient martial arts. If she grew for a few more years, she would become the Puckett family's greatest trump card. By then, even the seven great families would fear their power!
"I can even recognize you as my daughter." Wilford smiled. "I can treat you like my own daughter, even give you the chance to inherit the Puckett family in the future."
This last half sentence, Wilford naturally didn't mean sincerely.
He said this only to make Isabella trust him and willingly work for the Puckett family.
In the future, the Puckett family would still be inherited by Delmar, since Delmar was his real son.
As for Isabella, she would assist Delmar, protect Delmar, and help Delmar secure his position as head of the Puckett family in the future.
