Chapter 373 Should I Use a Coffin to Carry You Away?
"Ms. Isabella Powell, we're here."
The black sedan stopped at the entrance of Radiant University.
This time it was Knox who drove Isabella over.
At seven in the morning, it wasn't class time yet. Isabella looked through the car window and saw the entrance was quiet and deserted, with hardly anyone around.
She was about to get out when Gwyneth called.
"Ansley, are you at Radiant University?"
"Yes."
Gwyneth paused before speaking, "Ansley, if you want to investigate Garth's matter, go ahead, but don't push yourself too hard. Stay safe, okay?"
"Mom, I'm grown up now," Isabella said.
"I know you're grown up, but you're my only Ansley. Be careful with everything. If this matter involves the Seven Great Families, don't act on your own. You must tell me first about anything."
Isabella nodded, "Okay."
After getting out of the car, Isabella first went back to the villa dormitory. Kennedy wasn't there. She went to the lab - Kennedy wasn't there either.
"Isabella, morning."
Domingo and Reid had also come to the lab.
Domingo was carrying a bunch of food and drinks. "Brought you guys breakfast. Help yourselves if you haven't eaten."
Isabella glanced at them and frowned. "Kennedy's not here?"
"Kennedy didn't come with you?"
Isabella shook her head. "No, she wasn't at the dorm."
"That's strange." Domingo scratched his head. "Kennedy's usually here by now. She comes earlier than anyone else every day."
"Let's call and ask her." Reid immediately pulled out his phone and dialed Kennedy's number.
After about ten seconds, he put down the phone. "No answer."
Isabella also called Kennedy several times. Still no answer.
After what happened with Delmar, Isabella had to be vigilant. Just as she was about to go check with Gabriella, Kennedy called her back.
But it was a middle-aged woman speaking.
"Hello, are you Kennedy's classmate?"
Isabella's eyes flickered with doubt. "Who are you? Why is Kennedy's phone with you?"
"I'm Kennedy's mother. Kennedy just came out of the emergency room. Are you her classmate? Kennedy got injured and took leave. She won't be able to attend classes for a while."
As Calista spoke, she looked at Kennedy on the hospital bed, beaten black and blue without a single good spot, and couldn't help but tear up again.
She planned to persuade Kennedy when she woke up to just give the shares to Garth.
If the shares were gone, so be it. As long as Kennedy was alive, she'd be satisfied.
After Eldridge died, they only had each other. She just hoped Kennedy could live peacefully and safely.
On the other end of the phone, Isabella's eyes darkened.
"What happened to Kennedy?"
"Nothing much, just some family disputes."
Calista didn't plan to say more, just brushed it off.
After all, the other person was just a student at Radiant University. There was no point telling them too much.
"Can I go see Kennedy?" Isabella asked.
Calista hadn't expected her to ask this. She thought about it, worried that Kennedy's current appearance might scare them, so she said, "Better not. Your studies are important. Kennedy will naturally go to class when she's better."
The more Kennedy's mother said this, the worse Isabella felt. She thought Kennedy's condition must be really bad.
After thinking, Isabella still wasn't at ease. She said, "Kennedy's injured. As her good friend, I should go see her. Just tell me the hospital address, and I'll come when I have time."
When Calista heard she was Kennedy's good friend, not just a casual classmate, she hesitated, then finally felt she couldn't let down her kindness.
"Alright, thank you for caring about our Kennedy. I'll give you the address."
Isabella hung up, and Reid and Domingo immediately asked with concern, "What happened to Kennedy?"
They'd heard Kennedy's mother say on the phone that Kennedy was injured, but didn't know what kind of injury or how serious it was.
"Not sure about the details yet. I'll go to the hospital to check."
Isabella planned to go in the evening.
"Isabella, when you go, take me too. I'll go with you," Reid said.
Domingo also spoke up, "And me."
"Okay."
For the rest of the time, they started doing experiments.
In the evening, they left the lab and headed outside Radiant University.
Suddenly, someone came over and blocked their way.
"You're Isabella?"
Leading them was a middle-aged man wearing a black silk shirt and white pants.
Several people followed behind him, wearing the same uniforms as the group Gavin had brought last time.
Seemed like they were from the Puckett family.
"That's right." Isabella looked straight into the middle-aged man's eyes. "What do you want?"
Wilford stared at Isabella, his brow slightly furrowed. "Last time I sent people to kindly invite you, but you didn't know what's good for you. So today I'm here to tell you - you're coming whether you like it or not. If my son can't recover, I'll take your life!"
When he said this, a threatening killing intent flashed in Wilford's eyes.
Seeing this man come and immediately threaten Isabella's life, Domingo's expression turned ugly.
He stepped forward, agitated. "Who are you? What do you want? You want to cause trouble at Radiant University? Try it, and see if I don't beat you up."
Reid quickly pulled Domingo back and whispered in his ear, "He should be Delmar's father, Wilford."
Domingo was slightly shocked at this.
But he quickly regained his composure. "So what if he's Wilford? Even if he's Wilford, if he wants to bully Isabella, I can't agree to that!"
Wilford glanced at Domingo and laughed mockingly.
"Young people these days really don't know their place. Each one more arrogant than the last."
Then Wilford looked at Isabella again, his tone colder and harsher. "Will you come with me willingly, or should I have you carried away in a coffin?"
He had many things to deal with and really didn't have time to waste with Isabella.
Even though Isabella was a pretty skilled hypnotist, she was just a woman after all, and couldn't compare with the top hypnotists trained by the Puckett family.
If he wanted, he could easily kill her.
But he didn't need to go out of his way to kill Isabella. After all, this matter was just caused by Delmar being too playful. It wasn't really a major dispute. As long as Isabella would obediently turn Delmar back to normal, he could pretend nothing had happened.
