Chapter 358 Directly Kicked Over Jerald's Table
Gabriella was quite disappointed.
Jerald was considered a pretty competent teacher.
But she never expected him to handle this matter so irresponsibly.
"The academy is temporarily revoking your eligibility for this year's Outstanding Professor selection," Gabriella said. "Go back and reflect on this properly."
Jerald frowned when he heard this.
He couldn't understand. "Just because of this? I can't be considered for Outstanding Professor anymore?"
Gabriella rubbed her temples. "Just? Jerald, do you still not realize how serious your problem is?"
"I..." Jerald clenched his fists, still feeling dissatisfied but unable to say anything. "I understand."
He really didn't expect Gabriella to deal with him this harshly over such a small matter.
This kind of thing had happened before.
"Alright, you can go. Let this be a lesson."
Jerald left Gabriella's office with an unpleasant expression.
Back at the lab building, he saw several female students from the Class of '89 Physics Department at the entrance.
"Jerald."
"Hello, Jerald."
Jerald said to them, "Go get Isabella and tell her to come to my office."
——
Isabella soon learned that Jerald was looking for her.
She came to the lab building and pushed open Jerald's office door.
When Jerald saw her arrive, his expression immediately darkened.
"Isabella, do you think you're so great?" he said coldly. "I wouldn't help you investigate, so you went and reported this to Gabriella? You had to make such a big deal out of a small matter. Is this fun for you?"
Isabella didn't expect to be met with Jerald's harsh scolding the moment she walked in.
The middle-aged female teacher nearby was also startled by Jerald's sudden outburst.
Isabella stared at Jerald, her eyes immediately turning cold.
"Jerald, what do you mean?"
"What do I mean?" Jerald slammed the table and stood up, scolding her with extreme impatience. "I'd like to ask what YOU mean! If it weren't for you, would I have lost my eligibility for the professor evaluation?"
Jerald was truly furious.
He had worked so hard publishing all those papers and leading several experimental classes to finally qualify for the Outstanding Professor selection.
Outstanding Professor wasn't just about better benefits—it also meant being able to participate in S-level national research projects and receive bonuses.
And now, because of such a trivial matter, all his previous efforts were wasted!
Isabella understood and let out a scornful laugh.
"You're really something. Not only did you fail to fulfill your responsibilities as a teacher, but now that your evaluation eligibility is revoked, you're blaming me. I really don't know what qualifies someone like you to be a professor at a noble academy."
Jerald's expression darkened. "This kind of thing happens all the time among students. When people interact, how can there not be some conflicts? Why do you have to be so relentless about it? Is the truth really that important? I think you're just stupid!"
He was absolutely disgusted by this kind of dramatic female student.
Isabella's eyes narrowed, a hint of coldness appearing in them.
She stared intently at Jerald. "Who are you calling stupid?"
"You!" Jerald pointed at her, venting all his anger about losing the evaluation eligibility on Isabella. "What else would you be if not stupid? You got me punished by the academy and dragged down your teacher. Students like you are nothing but trouble!"
Isabella lifted one foot and kicked over the desk in front of Jerald.
Jerald was hit in the shin by the desk, turning pale from the pain.
He clutched his injured leg and hopped around twice.
The female teacher nearby also jumped up in shock.
Isabella looked at him coldly, her indifferent voice carrying a bone-chilling coldness. "Don't think that just because you're a teacher, you can criticize and insult me at will."
"If you talk trash, watch out or I'll rip out your tongue!"
Jerald's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Isabella.
He simply couldn't believe Isabella dared to treat him this way.
He had never seen such a bold student.
Jerald took two sharp breaths. He straightened up and stared hard at Isabella, his eyes full of anger.
"Isabella, do you know that assaulting a teacher will get you punished!"
"Really?" Isabella shrugged nonchalantly. "Did I assault you? Then go ahead and report me. But if the academy finds out you got into another conflict with a student, I'm afraid you won't be eligible for the professor evaluation the year after next either."
Jerald's face darkened.
Damn it.
He clenched his fists tightly.
Isabella didn't even look at him again and turned to leave.
After Jerald picked up the desk Isabella had kicked over, he rolled up his pant leg to look—there was already a large bruise.
Even the slightest touch brought piercing pain.
Jerald took another deep breath, the anger in his eyes deepening.
He had never seen a student like this!
The female teacher beside him looked at him and couldn't help but speak up. "Jerald, no matter what, you shouldn't take your temper out on students."
Jerald's eyes turned cold. "Isn't it her fault that I lost the evaluation? What's wrong with saying a few words to her? Why does she have such a temper? I say a few words and she gets physical."
The female teacher fell silent, not knowing what to say.
——
Evening.
The Fuller family's castle.
"Idiot!"
As soon as Saskia walked in, she was met with a slap that left her face red.
She looked up in shock, staring at Nolan in confusion. "Dad, what's wrong? Why did you hit me?"
"Why did I hit you? You tell me! Because of you, our family just had the usage rights to a piece of land revoked!"
He had taken Sable to see Gwyneth, but Gwyneth couldn't be bothered to see him.
Then he received the news that a piece of land had been taken back.
"Do you know how much profit that land brings in every year? That was something our family worked so hard to secure! And what did you do? Just because you didn't like a female classmate, you sabotaged her, and look what happened!"
Saskia was confused when she heard this.
"Dad, what are you talking about? Our family's land was taken back—what does that have to do with Isabella?"
"You don't think Isabella did it, do you? Could she have that much power?"
"Shut up!" Nolan couldn't hold back his angry shout. "Do you know that Isabella is from the Powell family? The guardian number the academy has is Gwyneth's number! She's Gwyneth's daughter!"
He was absolutely furious.
How could he have such a brainless daughter?
"What?"
Saskia froze.
"Isabella is from the Powell family? How could she possibly be from the Powell family? Dad, you must be mistaken. That's impossible!"
Although Isabella was indeed very beautiful and had great presence, if Isabella were from the Powell family, how could no one at the academy have mentioned it?
Besides, if Isabella really were from the Powell family, why wouldn't she tell everyone? She should want everyone to know—after all, what a powerful background and influence that would be!
