Chapter 352 Are You Planning to Ignore It?
Isabella knocked on the professor's office door.
"Jerald."
In Jerald's office, besides him, there was also a middle-aged female teacher.
"Isabella?" Jerald looked up at her. "What's up?"
"I want to ask, if someone maliciously deletes experimental data during the experiment, how should it be handled?" Isabella asked coolly.
Jerald raised his eyebrows. "Something like that happened?"
"Today is the last day for our group to submit the lab report, and the data on my computer was deleted by someone."
"Your group..." Jerald thought for a moment, having some recollection. "I remember your group is doing experiment 134."
When each group confirmed their members initially, they had to register with him, so Jerald not only knew Isabella was involved in experiment 134, but also knew who her group members were.
Isabella nodded. "I hope you can help investigate this matter."
Jerald narrowed his eyes slightly. "You want to find out who deleted your experimental data?"
"That's right."
Jerald stared at Isabella without saying anything more.
The air fell into a brief silence.
After a moment, Jerald spoke: "Isabella, there's no need to make a special trip to report such a small matter, is there?"
Isabella frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I mean..." Jerald paused, saying tactfully, "It's not surprising at all that this happened to you. Just be more careful in the future. Consider this incident a lesson."
Isabella: "?"
"A lesson for me?" Isabella stared at Jerald, her eyes carrying a hint of cold mockery. "Are you kidding me? Someone uses these despicable tricks to mess with me, and I deserve it?"
Jerald pressed his lips together. "That's not what I meant. I can only tell you that I have no way to help you investigate this."
Isabella's eyes narrowed slightly. "So you're not going to deal with it?"
"I really can't deal with it." Jerald's tone remained flat. "So, Isabella, please leave."
Isabella looked at Jerald, her expression turning slightly cold. After a few seconds, she bit her lip, turned around and left.
Jerald watched the door close and withdrew his gaze indifferently.
The female teacher in the office turned to look at Jerald with confusion. "Jerald, why won't you help her?"
As far as she knew, although there were no cameras in the lab, there were cameras in the hallway. By using technical means to confirm when the files were deleted, and then checking the surveillance footage, it should be possible to find out who did it.
She didn't understand why Jerald wouldn't handle this matter.
Hearing this, Jerald's expression remained indifferent. "What's the use of finding out?"
She naturally knew that Isabella was an ordinary person with no family background.
Since a student dared to delete her data, they clearly weren't afraid of being found out.
Even if he helped Isabella find out who did it, he couldn't really do anything to that person—at most give them a verbal warning. If that student held a grudge and retaliated against Isabella again, what could Isabella do?
"Not investigating is for her own good," Jerald said.
Being too serious about things isn't always a good thing.
The female teacher looked at Jerald. Although she didn't quite agree with his approach, she couldn't say much about it.
——
Gabriella's office.
Kennedy pushed the door open, carrying several thick reference materials.
"The materials I borrowed from you a few days ago—I'm here to return them."
"Just put them on the bookshelf." Gabriella gestured casually.
She adjusted her glasses and looked at Kennedy. "How is Isabella doing lately? Is she adapting well to her studies?"
Kennedy thought for a moment. "She..."
She hesitated.
Gabriella frowned. "What's wrong?"
"I just ran into Isabella at the lab building. She had just come out of Jerald's office. She said her experimental data was tampered with and deleted last night, but Jerald doesn't want to deal with it."
Gabriella's expression tightened. "That happened?"
Without waiting for Kennedy to speak, Gabriella directly made a call. "Dax, go to the lab building and check the surveillance footage."
Not knowing what was said on the other end, Gabriella glanced at Kennedy. "Which floor is Isabella's lab on?"
"Seventeenth floor, lab 1704." Kennedy answered.
Gabriella spoke into the phone again: "The hallway surveillance on the seventeenth floor, the one that can capture lab 1704."
After finishing, Gabriella hung up and looked at Kennedy. "Wait here. Dax should be here soon."
"Okay." Kennedy nodded and sat down on the nearby sofa to wait.
She also called Isabella, asking her to come over.
Isabella was nearby when she got the call. She came right over and asked Kennedy, "What's up?"
Kennedy said: "Gabriella sent someone to check the surveillance footage for you."
Hearing this, Isabella raised her eyebrows and glanced at Gabriella, somewhat surprised.
"Don't worry, Isabella. I'll get you the truth." Gabriella looked at Isabella seriously. "If someone really tampered with your computer, the school will punish them severely."
About twenty minutes later, Dax returned.
Dax was Gabriella's assistant, a tall man with a clean-cut appearance.
"Gabriella, the surveillance video you wanted—I've copied it."
Gabriella took the USB drive Dax handed her and plugged it directly into the computer.
Isabella and Kennedy also moved over to watch.
The footage clearly showed the situation at the lab entrance.
"What time did you leave the lab yesterday?" Gabriella asked.
"Around 6 PM."
Gabriella dragged the progress bar to 6 PM. The surveillance showed that at 6:05, a group of people left the lab one after another. Then around 8 PM, a figure suddenly returned and appeared at the lab entrance.
It was Saskia.
Gabriella naturally recognized it was Saskia, and her expression turned stern.
Saskia went in for about ten minutes before coming out.
After that, no one else entered the lab.
"I knew it was her." Isabella's eyes turned cold.
Besides Saskia, who else could it be?
——
Isolde, Saskia, Brad, and Delmar went to the review center together to submit their lab report.
There were many people at the review center submitting reports.
Among them were Jasmine and her group members.
"Isolde, isn't Isabella in your group? Why didn't she come, and went to Jerald's office instead?" Jasmine asked casually.
Isolde paused. "Isabella went to see Jerald?"
"Yeah, I saw her." Jasmine said.
Jasmine's casual mention made Isolde's expression turn unpleasant.
After leaving the review center, Isolde pulled Saskia aside. "Isabella went to see Jerald. Could it be because you deleted her data?"
It was only after Isolde's repeated questioning that Saskia admitted that the experimental data on Isabella's computer was indeed deleted by her.
