Chapter 339 Jasmine Needs Help, She Couldn't Be More Willing
Kennedy and Cecilia also came to the dining room.
Although there had been some unpleasantness yesterday, Cecilia didn't seem to want to ruin her relationship with Kennedy. She still took the initiative to talk to Kennedy, though they only chatted about trivial things.
But when it came to Isabella, Cecilia still couldn't be bothered to pay her any attention.
Halfway through the meal, the villa's doorbell suddenly rang.
Before Kennedy could get up to answer the door, a loud, carefree female voice came from the entrance: "Anyone home?"
Cecilia recognized Selene's voice right away.
She quickly got up and walked out, "Violet, what's up?"
Selene stood at the door with one hand on her hip. Seeing Cecilia come out, she immediately lifted her chin and said, "Get your two roommates and come next door to move some stuff!"
Cecilia was confused at first, "Move what stuff?"
Selene spoke impatiently, "The things Hestia, Jasmine, and I ordered online were delivered today. We just went out for a bit, and when we came back, everything was piled up at the door. Hurry up and come help!"
"Okay." Hearing it was to help out, Cecilia immediately agreed.
She returned to the dining room and looked at Kennedy and Isabella, "Stop eating for now, let's go next door to help move things."
Kennedy and Isabella got up and went to the neighboring dorm's entrance to check out the situation.
When they arrived, they saw over a dozen delivery boxes piled up at the door. Some boxes were very tall and large, looking quite heavy.
Two girls stood behind that pile of boxes. They had apparently just returned from shopping, still wearing high heels and dresses instead of their school uniforms, with flashy makeup and carefully styled hair.
Isabella narrowed her eyes and glanced at them, knowing they were the other two members of the neighboring dorm, Jasmine and Hestia.
Jasmine stood there leisurely with her arms crossed. Seeing the people from dorm 112 come out, she didn't say anything, just waited for them to hurry up and move the stuff inside.
Cecilia and Kennedy walked over and each picked up a box.
Isabella was about to lend a hand too, but noticed that Jasmine, Hestia, and Selene were standing aside doing nothing.
"You're not going to help? Just going to stand there and watch?"
Jasmine was silent for a moment, then smiled, "If we did it ourselves, why would we need you?"
Kennedy heard this and frowned, pulling her hands back.
Isabella narrowed her eyes, "So only we have to move them?"
Selene frowned, saying impatiently, "What else? What did you think I called you out here for?"
Isabella let out a cold laugh, "Then you can move them yourselves. I'm not playing along."
With that, Isabella turned and walked away.
Jasmine watched the girl's retreating figure, her expression changing, her voice becoming somewhat shrill: "What do you mean? Stop right there!"
She simply couldn't believe that Isabella would just turn around and leave, not planning to help her move these boxes at all.
Selene and Hestia's expressions changed too.
You have to understand, with Jasmine's status, even among the thirty-six nobles, except for the top three, everyone had to be wary of her. These past few days, which new student hadn't been polite and respectful to Jasmine?
Even if Jasmine didn't ask, as long as people saw her, they would rush to help her move things.
If it weren't for dorm 112 being the closest to them, they wouldn't have needed to call the people from dorm 112 to help.
But this Isabella was so arrogant and rude.
Cecilia was also surprised. She put down the box and glared at Isabella in frustration, "Isabella! What are you doing? Jasmine just asked you to move some stuff and you won't do it. Are you crazy?"
Isabella glanced at Cecilia and said coldly, "Why should I move things for her while she just stands there watching without a care?"
Cecilia frowned, "With Jasmine's status, of course she can't do this kind of manual labor. Do you really think you can compare to her?"
She stuck her neck out and continued, "Besides, she's just asking you to move some things, not asking for your life. Do you really need to be so resistant? Jasmine asking for your help shows she thinks highly of you, okay? Don't be so unreasonable."
"I don't need her to think highly of me." A trace of mockery flashed in Isabella's eyes, "If you think she thinks highly of you, then you go help her move them. Why are you bothering me?"
Cecilia's expression froze. She stared at Isabella somewhat angrily and said through gritted teeth, "You really don't know what's good for you!"
She turned to look at Kennedy, "Kennedy, let's just ignore her. Let her keep acting up—sooner or later she'll get herself killed."
"Kennedy, help me move these boxes."
As Cecilia said this, she assumed Kennedy would be willing to move the boxes with her. But the next second, she heard Kennedy say to Jasmine and the others:
"Sorry, I can't help you. I thought you just didn't have enough people and needed help, but I didn't expect it to be like this. If that's the case, then you can move them yourselves. I have my own things to do and no time to be free labor for anyone."
After saying this, Kennedy went back to dorm 112 with Isabella.
Jasmine watched Kennedy and Isabella's departing figures, her expression completely falling.
"What do they mean?"
"What kind of attitude is that?"
Jasmine had never been treated like this before, and no one had ever disrespected her like this. They wouldn't even help her move a few boxes!
She felt insulted and was furious.
Cecilia hadn't expected Kennedy to choose to refuse like Isabella did. Her expression also looked unpleasant.
She just didn't understand—what was wrong with moving some boxes? It wouldn't kill them, and besides, it was Jasmine who needed help. She would have jumped at the chance.
Being able to build a good relationship with Jasmine meant that in the future, if she had any problems, Jasmine wouldn't just stand by and do nothing.
Why were Isabella and Kennedy so inflexible? Had their brains stopped working?
"Jasmine, they're just too much." Cecilia pouted, "After all, they live right next door to you, and we're all classmates. I really can't understand why they won't even move some things for you. They're so selfish!"
"Jasmine, it's okay, I'll help you move them. I'm not as selfish as they are."
As Cecilia spoke, she started moving the boxes herself.
Jasmine, Selene, and Hestia were quite angry because of Isabella and Kennedy. They stood aside with their arms crossed, looking upset, and naturally had no intention of helping.
Cecilia struggled alone to move most of the boxes piled at the door into dorm 111. Her hands were rubbed red, and her arms were so sore and weak that she had no strength left.
There was still one box left.
Cecilia felt it was too difficult to move it by herself. She bit her lip and looked at Hestia somewhat awkwardly, "Hestia, how about you help me move this last one? I can't move it by myself."
Hearing this, Hestia frowned slightly, looking very impatient, "I'm wearing a dress, how can I help you move it? Besides, this box isn't even that heavy. Did you not eat? You can't even move this?"
Cecilia had no choice but to look at Selene, who wasn't wearing a dress.
Selene glanced at her with disgust, "This box is so dirty, I don't want to touch it. Just hurry up and get it inside yourself, stop wasting time!"
Cecilia bit her lip and didn't dare say anything more. She used all her strength to lift the box inside by herself.
In the end, her hands were rubbed red, her arms were sore and weak, and she was covered in sweat.
Cecilia felt wronged.
It was all Isabella and Kennedy's fault!
If they hadn't refused to help, she wouldn't have had to move all these boxes by herself!
