Chapter 311 Sooner or Later, I Will Expose Your True Colors!
"You'll have to ask Louie about that," Isabella glanced at him and said calmly. "Going to Regal City wasn't Gwyneth's idea, and it wasn't mine either. It was Louie's idea."
"How is that possible? How could Louie let someone like you go to Regal City with Ms. Powell?"
Ollie simply couldn't believe it.
He was convinced that Isabella must have pestered Gwyneth to take her along.
Just then, Knox walked over.
Seeing Ollie red-faced with anger, he said helplessly, "Ollie, stop arguing with Ms. Taylor. Letting Ms. Taylor go to Regal City was indeed Louie's suggestion at the meeting."
"That still doesn't work. Someone as vicious as her—who knows if she's a spy sent by The Whispering Sect?" Right now, Ollie saw Isabella as someone with bad intentions no matter how he looked at her. The idea that Isabella was a spy sent by The Whispering Sect seemed entirely possible to him!
Hearing this, Isabella glanced at Ollie with a somewhat cold expression. "You better have proof for what you're saying! How did I suddenly become a spy sent by The Whispering Sect? If you can't produce evidence, believe it or not, I'll tell Gwyneth you're spreading rumors."
Ollie gritted his teeth. "You're definitely not a good person!"
"You're the one who's not a good person."
"You..."
"Enough, Ollie, stop being unreasonable!" Knox looked at Ollie with some displeasure. "Wasn't getting demoted enough of a lesson for you?"
Ollie's face darkened as his sore spot was touched.
He glared hard at Isabella and threw out a parting shot:
"Sooner or later, I'll expose your true colors!"
With that, Ollie left in a huff.
Isabella watched his retreating figure and called out casually, "I'll be waiting for you to call me daddy."
Hearing Isabella's arrogant voice, Ollie trembled with anger.
Isabella strolled leisurely into the main hall.
Before long, Gwyneth returned.
She glanced at Isabella sitting on the sofa eating snacks and reminded her, "We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning. You can pack your things now."
"Tomorrow we'll drive to the dock and then take a boat to Regal City. The sea voyage will take three days and three nights, but we're taking our private vessel, so there won't be other people on board. The ship has a restaurant and chef, sleeping quarters, and all kinds of facilities, so there's nothing to worry about in terms of living conditions."
After hearing Gwyneth's words, Isabella packed her suitcase in advance.
One small suitcase was enough to hold all her clothes.
Early the next morning, the car heading to the dock pulled up at the castle gate of the Powell family.
Besides Pippa, Wilder and Emilio were also coming along on this trip.
Isabella heard that this Emilio was also a hypnotist. After boarding the ship, she asked Gwyneth, "How can I learn hypnosis?"
Gwyneth glanced at her, her tone flat. "You can't."
"Why not?"
"Because you can only practice one—ancient martial arts or hypnosis. Since you're an ancient martial arts professional, naturally you can't learn hypnosis."
As soon as Gwyneth finished speaking, Pippa suddenly started making noise, pawing at Gwyneth.
Gwyneth looked at it. "What do you want? What, do you have a problem with what I said?"
Pippa nodded.
It did have a problem.
Gwyneth snorted. "What's your problem? Did I say something wrong? She simply can't learn it."
Hearing this, Pippa got even more agitated, constantly making noise and scratching its ears, looking like it desperately wanted to speak human language right away.
Unfortunately, it couldn't speak.
Gwyneth tossed it a large piece of beef jerky to shut it up. "Humans are talking, you little cat shouldn't interrupt."
Pippa had almost been pacified by the beef jerky, but hearing Gwyneth call it a little cat was too much to bear. It opened its huge mouth and extended its sharp claws to display its might.
Gwyneth looked at it dismissively. "Go eat your beef jerky."
Pippa grumbled and lowered its head to eat the meat.
Isabella continued the earlier topic. "But why can you learn both ancient martial arts and hypnosis?"
"Because I'm different."
"Different how?"
Gwyneth patiently explained to her, "Different genes."
Actually, hypnosis wasn't called hypnosis in the past. It originated from mind control techniques, an ancient supernatural ability.
This ability came in many forms—emotional manipulation, physical manipulation, memory erasure, dream invasion, mental illusions, puppet techniques, soul binding, and so on... Hypnosis was just the most insignificant one among them.
But modern hypnotists naturally don't just know hypnosis—they know almost all of the above techniques.
Ordinary people can't learn hypnosis because they simply can't sense their own psychic power.
But hypnotists can sense and control this psychic power through their consciousness.
Just like ancient martial arts professionals can sense and use the internal energy in their bodies.
But these two types of genes have never been able to coexist.
Gwyneth's situation, however, stemmed from some kind of genetic mutation that eliminated the rejection between the two genes.
But Gwyneth's case was ultimately an exception. She had this gene, but Isabella didn't.
However, after Gwyneth said "different genes," Pippa couldn't contain itself again. It pawed at Isabella, then at Gwyneth, its gaze constantly moving back and forth between the two...
"Pippa, I feel like you've been really active lately."
Pippa used to not pay much attention to people, but now it had to interrupt after just a few words. She didn't know why.
But its complicated body language was really incomprehensible to Gwyneth, so she could only toss it a few more pieces of beef jerky to distract it.
As Gwyneth said, the ship had everything—plenty of food and drink. Even the food on board was quite high-end, with top chefs.
After three days and three nights at sea, their ship finally docked at Regal City's port.
"We're here."
As the ship came ashore, Isabella and Gwyneth gathered their things and disembarked.
But Pippa couldn't come out so openly. However, Gwyneth had already made arrangements—once it got dark, they would transfer Pippa from the ship to a car and transport it to the villa where they would be staying.
The villa wasn't far from the dock. It was private property Gwyneth had purchased in advance, specifically for convenient accommodation during this trip.
Servants had already cleaned the villa beforehand, and when they arrived, the kitchen had also prepared meals.
"Let's eat first," Gwyneth said.
Although they now knew Verity's whereabouts, they could only start taking action tomorrow.
