Chapter 285 Isabella Directly Slapped Kismet Back
Seeing Isabella's hesitation, Kismet sneered, "Actually, you don't need to be so nervous. I'm not that good at archery either."
Hearing Kismet's words, Finnegan and Flynn exchanged glances, both with amused looks in their eyes.
What a thing to say.
Kismet had practiced archery since childhood and was best at it. Among them, she had the best archery skills.
Kismet released the arrow without hesitation.
The arrow shot toward the target a hundred meters away at incredible speed.
"Yasmin, use the binoculars to see what score it is."
Because of the distance, they needed binoculars to see the exact ring number.
Yasmin was stunned for a moment before snapping back to reality. She quickly raised the binoculars hanging around her neck, looked through them and said, "It's a 9."
"Only a 9?" Kismet sighed, "Not quite there."
During her usual practice, she could hit a 10. This time was below her normal performance.
But still, more than enough to beat Isabella.
Kismet glanced at Isabella standing to the side, her eyes full of disdain. "Your turn. Do you need me to teach you how to shoot an arrow?"
"No need."
Isabella raised her hand, drew the bow, and shot the arrow. The movements flowed seamlessly as she released the arrow.
Kismet was stunned.
Didn't she just say she couldn't shoot?
Was she lying?
Finnegan was also taken aback, seeing from a distance that Isabella's arrow seemed to be close to the bullseye too.
"Yasmin," Finnegan called out.
Isabella put down the bow and said calmly, "No need to look. Mine's a 10."
Sure enough, after looking through the binoculars, Yasmin's eyes widened slightly. "It really is... a 10."
Kismet's expression immediately darkened. She strode over, snatched the binoculars from Yasmin's hands, and looked. Indeed, Isabella's arrow hit the bullseye perfectly, while her own arrow was still a bit off from the center.
Kismet gritted her teeth hard.
How could this happen?
How could she lose?
Isabella glanced at Kismet casually. "You said earlier that the winner gets to slap the loser, but I'm not interested in such boring games, so let's just pretend what you said was a joke."
Isabella wasn't slapping Kismet because she didn't want to offend her. Better to avoid trouble - she didn't need to cause herself problems over one slap.
With that, Isabella lifted her foot to leave.
Kismet clenched her fists, glaring fiercely at Isabella's back, her voice domineering. "Stop! You can't leave! You have to compete with me again!"
She couldn't understand how a thief could beat her, and act so smug about it?
Isabella looked at Kismet expressionlessly. "What exactly do you want?"
"We compete again!" Kismet repeated coldly.
Isabella pressed her lips together and said in a low voice, "Even if we compete again, you'll still lose. The result won't be any different."
Kismet was stung by Isabella's dismissive words. Very angry, she stepped forward and grabbed Isabella's hand hard, pulling her over. Her eyes filled with rage stared at her. "I said, one more round. Didn't you hear me?"
Isabella glanced at Kismet, removed her hand, took a deep breath. "Fine, you insist on competing? I'll compete with you. After this, you better settle down."
Isabella walked over and picked up the Skybreaker Bow again, but still didn't rush to shoot. Instead, she looked at Kismet and said, "You first."
Kismet didn't say much, just looked deeply at Finnegan. Finnegan understood and quietly took a bow from the rack.
Kismet drew the bowstring and shot an arrow.
"Ten," Yasmin said after looking.
But she had a feeling that Isabella would probably hit a 10 again this time, and they would tie.
Isabella stepped forward, drew the bow, and shot.
The arrow left her hand.
At the same time, another sound rang out. Another arrow shot from Finnegan's hand, hitting Isabella's arrow right on target.
Isabella's arrow was knocked off course and fell straight to the ground, not even touching the target.
Without a word, Kismet stepped forward, grabbed Isabella by the collar, and slapped her hard across the face, raising her eyebrows viciously. "You lost. You deserve it!"
Isabella was dazed by this sudden slap.
Seeing this, Yasmin was shocked. She rushed over to pull Kismet away and looked at Isabella with concern. "Are you okay?"
She really couldn't watch this anymore. "Kismet, what are you doing? You had Finnegan intercept her arrow. Is that fair?"
Finnegan shrugged nonchalantly from the side. "There's no rule saying you can't intercept her arrow. In competition, what's wrong with being flexible?"
"But what kind of competition is this? Finnegan, you interfering makes it unfair."
Hearing this, Flynn frowned and looked at Yasmin with some displeasure. "Yasmin, why are you always such a buzzkill? And whose side are you on anyway? Why are you speaking up for someone who has nothing to do with us?"
"She won earlier and showed mercy, didn't even slap Kismet. I don't understand why you have to bully her..."
Finnegan said coldly, "Yasmin, I don't understand why you're taking an outsider's side."
While Yasmin was arguing with them, suddenly, a crisp sound rang out.
Isabella backhanded Kismet with a slap too.
Kismet was stunned by the slap, unable to believe that Isabella dared to hit her.
Did she have a death wish?
Isabella looked at Kismet coldly. "Don't be too surprised. Since you slapped me, it means neither of us was joking. So this slap is what you deserve for when I won earlier."
Kismet glared at Isabella, wanting to say something but not knowing what to say.
"Who do you think you are? How dare you hit me?"
Unable to bear it, Kismet roared angrily. Even though she was in the wrong, she furiously raised her hand to slap Isabella again.
But this time Isabella was prepared. She grabbed her wrist directly, her dark eyes staring at her coldly. "You already got your slap for winning. If you want to hit me again, you need to win again first."
"Don't worry, use whatever dirty tricks you want. If you win again, I'll offer my face for you to slap."
Meeting the girl's dark, heavy gaze, Kismet was stunned for a moment. She didn't know how Isabella dared to say such things.
She could have Finnegan intercept her arrow once, she could do it a second time, an Nth time.
No matter how good Isabella's archery was, she would only win, never lose.
Kismet pulled back her hand and snorted coldly. "Fine. If I don't beat you into a pig's head today, I'm not Kismet."
For the third round, Isabella shot first.
Yasmin watched them continue competing and really couldn't understand.
They were already ignoring the rules - what was the point of competing?
She walked up to Isabella and advised, "Don't compete with Kismet anymore. No matter how well you shoot, Finnegan will still intercept your arrow. You're bound to lose."
