Chapter 254 Who Is the Waste Is Obvious
Hayden didn't say anything. With a dark expression, he called Isabella.
"Isabella."
Isabella knew Hayden would soon come to confront her, but she didn't expect it to be this quick. She had barely left the company when Hayden's call came through.
Isabella gazed calmly out the car window and spoke unhurriedly, "Dad, what's wrong?"
"Why did you fire Doyle and Lowell?" Hayden demanded coldly. "Didn't you promise me you wouldn't fire people randomly anymore?"
"I didn't fire people randomly," Isabella said, raising an eyebrow. "I had my reasons for firing them."
"What reasons?"
Isabella said flatly, "Doyle was harassing people during work hours and humiliating his subordinates. Someone like that naturally can't stay at the company - he'd corrupt the company culture."
Hayden frowned, then asked, "And Lowell? What did he do?"
"He abused his position to file false expense claims. Someone who loves taking advantage like that naturally can't stay either."
Hayden wasn't stupid - he could tell these were all excuses Isabella was using!
"Any excuse will do if you want to blame someone! Isabella, are you doing this on purpose?" Hayden said sternly. "Don't think I don't know what you're trying to do! You're a girl - isn't your ambition a bit too big?"
Before, if Isabella had wanted to take control of Celestial Jewels, he wouldn't have cared at all.
But things were different now.
This trip to Veridian to purchase gemstones - the estimated value of those gems alone exceeded all the liquid funds in the Taylor Group's accounts.
Such a huge cash cow - he absolutely couldn't trust Isabella to manage it!
Hearing Hayden's angry voice on the phone, Isabella's lips curved slightly. "Dad, did Chase say something to you? Let me guess - Chase is right there beside you now, isn't he?"
"We're both your children, yet my brother gets to inherit the entire company, while I just want a small Celestial Jewels - is even that not allowed? Dad, you're being way too biased."
Chase was standing right there and heard every word Isabella said. His expression immediately darkened. "Isabella, who am I, and who are you? How can you even compare yourself to me?"
He really didn't expect Isabella to be so shameless as to compare herself to him.
Isabella hadn't expected to guess right - Chase really was there. She immediately sneered, "Brother, don't forget - the Taylor Group is barely surviving because I got Clarence on board. I secured a project that none of you could get. So who exactly can't be compared to whom?"
"You...!" Chase's face darkened. He wanted to say something but couldn't get the words out.
To this day, he still couldn't figure out why Clarence would specifically listen to Isabella. What dirt did Isabella have on Clarence?
"Dad, I think it's time you considered changing the Taylor Group's heir," Isabella said with a smile. "If you give the company to a waste of space, he won't make the Taylor Group grow."
Chase immediately got angry. "Who are you calling a waste of space?"
"Who's the waste of space is pretty obvious." Isabella cleared her throat and continued, "Dad, I suggest you seriously consider what I'm saying. Whether it's Celestial Jewels or the Taylor Group, in different people's hands, the value they create will naturally be different."
"Isabella, you...!"
Chase wanted to say something indignantly, but before he could finish, he heard the call disconnect.
Chase was so angry his chest hurt.
So arrogant!
He really didn't expect Isabella to become like this. Where was even a shred of respect for him as her older brother in her eyes? She actually called him a waste of space.
Chase turned to look at Hayden. "Dad, I think we should take Celestial Jewels back from Isabella!"
Hayden didn't respond.
Although he was very unhappy that Isabella had gotten rid of his people as soon as she took over Celestial Jewels, he hadn't planned to take Celestial Jewels back from Isabella right now.
Seeing Hayden's silence, Chase got anxious. "Dad..."
"Enough, Chase. Stop talking. Since I gave Celestial Jewels to Isabella to manage, there's naturally no reason to take it back."
"Besides, you're way too hostile toward your sister. No matter what, she's my daughter. It's not like Celestial Jewels is going to run away."
Of course Chase knew Celestial Jewels wouldn't run away, but Celestial Jewels should have been his. Now that it was Isabella's, he naturally felt resentful and wanted to regain control of Celestial Jewels.
What Chase didn't know was that Hayden was actually thinking about what Isabella had just said.
Although he didn't want to admit it, the Crown District project was indeed secured by Isabella. Chase hadn't played any useful role at all.
Chase was his eldest son, yet he wasn't as capable as a daughter...
Hayden stroked his chin, and as he looked at Chase, he couldn't help but feel some disgust. "Chase, do you want to snatch Celestial Jewels back from Isabella because you think it can make money now? Then why didn't it make a single cent when it was in your hands?"
"I..." Chase was immediately stumped.
That was because he never thought jewelry could make money in the first place, so he hadn't managed Celestial Jewels properly.
Who knew that Isabella would just make one trip to Veridian and come back with huge profits!
If he'd known, he should have gone to Veridian himself. Then he would have discovered the opportunity earlier.
Hayden looked at Chase coldly. "Chase, Celestial Jewels was worthless in your hands, but in Isabella's hands, it can generate such high profits. Just based on that, I think it's more appropriate to let Isabella manage Celestial Jewels."
Chase frowned, wanting to say something, but Hayden cut him off. "Enough, go out. You should focus on the Crown District project. As for Celestial Jewels, with Isabella there, she'll do better than you."
Chase had no choice but to leave.
After leaving the office, his expression was extremely dark. Thinking about what Hayden had just said, his eyes turned cold.
He really didn't expect Isabella to be so calculating!
After Isabella's manipulation, did Hayden now see him as incompetent, not even as good as Isabella?
Chase clenched his fists, wishing he could tear Isabella to pieces!
——
Isabella had the driver take her to the Brown Villa.
After getting out of the car, Isabella saw two people standing at the entrance of the Brown Villa.
They were Alton and Tyrell, whom William had introduced to her before.
