Chapter 223 Who Sent the Gem?
The foreigner quickly signed the contract.
Casey was furious and stormed back upstairs to the second floor.
"Casey, what happened? Why do you look so upset?" Cecil asked in a low voice while drinking his coffee.
Casey told him what had happened downstairs with a gloomy expression.
After hearing this, Cecil sighed. "Looks like this Ms. Taylor isn't very smart."
While a hundred million dollar order was certainly tempting, being money-hungry without knowing your own limits was not a good thing.
Casey said through gritted teeth, "I don't know if she's stupid or just naive!"
Wasn't she just handing money to that foreigner?
"Casey, what are you going to do?" Cecil asked.
Casey took a deep breath. "The contract's already signed. Right now, the only thing we can do is try to find a top-quality 5.2-carat blue diamond. So I'll need to trouble you to ask around and see who might have a gem like that."
Cecil thought for a moment. "Right now, the Brown Group's jewelry brand Eternal Jewelry has basically monopolized the entire high-end market. They control almost all the top-quality gem resources in the country. If you want to get a gem like that, you'll probably have to go through Eternal Jewelry."
"Casey, I happen to know someone at Eternal Jewelry. Let me ask around for you."
Casey's eyes lit up. "That would be wonderful, Cecil. I'll treat you to dinner sometime."
That Isabella was just stupid. When problems came up, he still had to be the one to solve them, didn't he?
The more Casey thought about it, the more disgusted he felt with this useless Isabella.
After chatting a bit more, Cecil said he'd go ask about the blue diamond, and Casey saw him out.
When he returned to the first floor, Isabella was nowhere to be seen.
Because of what had just happened in the store, the manager and staff were all quietly discussing it among themselves.
"Ms. Taylor signed that order, but we don't have such a large blue diamond in our store. What are we going to do?"
"Ms. Taylor's decision was way too rash."
"Twenty million dollars in penalty fees is no small amount. How many sales would it take to earn that back?"
"..."
Casey listened to everyone's discussion, walked over, and said, "Dione, don't worry about the blue diamond. I've already talked to Cecil. Maybe he can help us buy a blue diamond over 5.2 carats through Eternal Jewelry!"
The staff's eyes lit up when they heard this. "Cecil? So that man on the second floor just now was the famous gem dealer Cecil!"
Cecil had quite a reputation in the jewelry circle. Many gems that couldn't be bought through regular channels were available through Cecil. Everyone said Cecil had impressive connections, and it turned out to be true.
"That's great! Good thing Casey knows Cecil!"
Dione looked at Casey with some respect. "Casey, thank goodness you're here. Otherwise, we really wouldn't know how to handle this order."
Dione was the store manager, and her year-end bonus was closely tied to the store's operations. If they really lost twenty million dollars on this order, her year-end bonus would probably be gone.
So she was genuinely grateful to Casey.
"Where's Ms. Taylor? Where did she go?" Casey asked.
"I don't know. After signing the contract, Ms. Taylor said she had something to do and left," Dione said.
Casey snorted coldly, his eyes full of disdain. "She caused trouble and then left! I think she came here on purpose to make a mess!"
He really couldn't understand how there could be such a stupid and unreasonable person in this world.
The staff also started whispering among themselves.
"This Ms. Taylor really is unreasonable. Casey told her not to sign that order, but she insisted on signing it. And then she just ran away, leaving Casey to solve the problem."
"Casey does have some real ability. Otherwise, why would Chase have Casey in charge?"
"I really hope she doesn't come back to cause more trouble."
"..."
Listening to everyone's comments about Isabella, Casey felt much better.
So what if Isabella was a daughter of the Taylor family? No matter how good her background was, it couldn't save her from her stupidity and ignorance.
He was the only expert here.
His status in these staff members' hearts was still higher than Isabella's.
Casey's eyes were full of pride.
Just then, a well-dressed middle-aged man in a suit suddenly appeared at the door. The man was wearing white gloves and carrying a case.
A staff member went over to greet him. "Sir, welcome to Celestial Jewels. What can I help you with?"
"I'm not here to buy jewelry. I'm here to deliver something," the man said.
The staff member looked confused. "Deliver something?"
The man pointed to the case in his hand. "This. Someone instructed me to deliver it here."
Casey walked over and glanced at the case in the man's hand. "What is this?"
"I'm sorry, I don't know what's inside either. I'm just responsible for delivery. My boss said to deliver it intact to the Celestial Jewels flagship store." He glanced at the store entrance again and said, "This is the Celestial Jewels flagship store, right?"
"That's right, this is the Celestial Jewels flagship store." Dione took the case from the man. "We'll take it. Thank you for your trouble."
"You're welcome."
The case looked quite fancy. After the man left, a group of staff members gathered around the case, all quite curious.
"What's inside this?"
"I saw the man's clothes had the Silvergate International Bank logo on them. Strange, why would someone from Silvergate International Bank be delivering something to us?"
"Open it and see." Dione said.
Since the man specifically said it was for Celestial Jewels, it must be right. They'd know what was inside once they looked.
As she spoke, Dione opened the case's clasp.
Suddenly, a sparkling blue diamond came into everyone's view.
"Is this a top-quality blue diamond?"
"What a huge blue diamond!"
"I've never seen such a beautiful, large blue diamond. This must be so valuable!"
Everyone crowded around, looking at the gem in disbelief.
Casey was also shocked. He quickly put on his reading glasses. "Let me see."
He carefully put on gloves and took the gem out of the box to examine it closely.
After more than ten seconds, he also exclaimed, "That's right! This is a flawless top-quality blue diamond!"
He weighed the gem and was even more amazed. "It's a full 27 carats!"
This was simply too precious and rare!
Casey held the gem in his hand, feeling like he was dreaming.
Everyone present was captivated by this blue diamond and couldn't come back to their senses for a long time.
After a while, the manager finally spoke. "Casey, could this gem have been sent by Cecil?"
Casey was in a daze. "Probably not?"
Cecil shouldn't be able to get a gem like this, and even if he could, he wouldn't be generous enough to just send it over like this.
"Then that's strange. Who sent this gem?"
"There's a card here!"
Dione said as she took a card out of the box.
"What does it say?"
Everyone gathered around to look.
It read:
"Isabella Taylor's personal property, top-quality blue diamond, 27 carats."
