Chapter 203 I Want Celestial Jewels
A hint of sarcasm flashed in Isabella's eyes. She looked at Hayden and said coldly, "I don't think much of it. If you want the company to get through this crisis, you don't necessarily have to get funding from the Baker family. I actually have another suggestion. Do you want to hear it?"
"What?" Hayden was somewhat curious. "You have another idea?"
"The reason the company is in trouble now is because we can't get projects, right? The Crown District project - I think we can still fight for it."
Crown District was the project Hayden had tried but failed to win last time. It was a real estate construction project, with Ascend Global Group as the client. Ascend Global Group had bought a piece of land by the river, planning to build a high-end villa community specifically targeting rich people in Emerald City.
That land was expensive, so it was obvious how high the selling price of Crown District houses would be once built.
After hearing her words, Hayden sneered, "Ascend Global Group has already decided to give the Crown District project to Zenith Global Group. We don't have a chance anymore."
Hayden got angry just thinking about it.
It was all because of those stupid things Bianca did that gave their competitor company something to use against them, triggering an online public opinion war that pointed fingers at the entire Taylor Group. This was the direct reason they lost their competitive qualification.
There were already many companies competing for that project. Originally, the Taylor Group and Zenith Global Group had the best chances of winning the partnership. Once the Taylor Group failed, the project naturally fell to Zenith Global Group.
He had been counting on this project to turn losses into profits, but now all hope was gone.
Isabella naturally knew all this. She glanced at Hayden, a cold light flashing in her eyes. "What if I could take back that project and make it belong to the Taylor Group?"
Hayden froze, looking Isabella up and down in disbelief. "What did you say?"
If he heard correctly, Isabella said she could take back this project from Zenith Global Group? The Taylor Group had already been kicked out, and Ascend Global Group insisted on giving this project to Zenith Global Group. Now they wouldn't even give the Taylor Group a second look.
Even he was powerless. How could Isabella, a girl, dare to say she could take back that project?
"If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't have brought this up with you." Isabella said unhurriedly, looking up at him. "But I have conditions."
Hayden just felt Isabella was joking. "Isabella, company matters aren't as simple as you kids think. You don't understand anything."
Isabella interrupted him. "I naturally have my own way of handling this. You just need to tell me whether you can agree to my conditions."
"What conditions?"
"First, cooperate with me to arrange Grandma's hospital transfer."
"Second, I want Celestial Jewels."
Jessa couldn't stay in Hayden's hands anymore. She planned to transfer Jessa to the hospital William had introduced to her. The hospital had William's people there, so Hayden would never be able to touch Jessa again, and could never threaten her with things like stopping medication.
"What do you want Celestial Jewels for?" Hayden asked her.
"I want to do some jewelry business." Isabella said directly.
Celestial Jewels was a jewelry company Hayden had opened. It had been operating for two years, but had always been lukewarm. While it didn't make much money, it didn't lose money either.
All along, the Taylor Group's main business had been cooperating with real estate companies to take on construction projects. Establishing "Celestial Jewels" back then was just on a whim. Hayden hadn't put much thought into managing it and had directly handed it over to Chase. But Chase wasn't interested in the jewelry business, so he hadn't invested energy in Celestial Jewels either.
Hayden was somewhat surprised. "I didn't expect you to be interested in Celestial Jewels."
"I think no girl dislikes jewelry." Isabella said.
She could tell Hayden didn't really care about Celestial Jewels.
But Hayden would never guess that in her previous life, after the Taylor Group went bankrupt, it was Celestial Jewels' profits that kept the Taylor family from ending up on the streets starving to death, allowing them to barely survive.
Later, Celestial Jewels actually became Hayden's lifeline, and it was then that Hayden completely switched careers to the jewelry business.
So it wasn't really that she liked jewelry.
She just wanted to pull away the Taylor family's lifeline in advance.
Of course, if Celestial Jewels was worth running, she would work hard to make it successful.
Hayden narrowed his eyes and looked at Isabella for a moment before deciding: "Fine. If you can really get Ascend Global Group to give us the Taylor Group the Crown District project, I'll cooperate with your grandmother's hospital transfer, and I'll also give you Celestial Jewels."
"But you only have three days, because the Baker family only gave us three days. If you can't do it, then obediently marry Zachary!"
Isabella said nothing and left the study directly.
——
The Baker Villa.
After Zachary learned that Grace had gone to the Taylor Villa to discuss his and Isabella's marriage, he had been waiting at home.
In his view, there would be no surprises with this matter. Isabella would probably be very happy to hear the news, and the Taylor family should also happily accept.
At dinner time, Grace came back.
But her expression didn't look very good.
Zachary looked at her and froze. "Mom, what's wrong? Didn't you go to discuss my and Isabella's marriage?"
Grace walked straight into the house, her face still dark. "I did go, but your and Isabella's marriage hasn't been settled yet."
"Not settled?" Zachary was confused. "Why?"
"Isabella said she's not willing to marry you."
After hearing this, Zachary froze again. "How is that possible?"
How could Isabella not be willing to marry him?
He had thought Grace's trip to the Taylor Villa to arrange the engagement would definitely go without any problems, and he had even reluctantly convinced himself to accept getting engaged to Isabella. He never expected this.
"Who knows what's gotten into her?" Grace's mood was terrible.
No girl would be unwilling to marry their Zachary, but Isabella actually refused and even said their Zachary was garbage!
Really ungrateful.
"Mom, what do we do now?" Zachary somehow felt inexplicably flustered.
If Isabella wasn't willing to get engaged to him, what should they do?
He didn't know what was causing this sudden anxiety, but he just felt that Isabella not getting engaged to him wasn't a good thing. His subconscious hoped this matter could work out.
"It's fine. In the end, she'll still get engaged to you." Grace said.
Although Isabella had refused, she didn't care at all.
"The Taylor Group didn't get the Crown District project, and the company account is very short on money. If Hayden wants to get funding from our family, he must agree to her marrying you."
"So whether Isabella is willing to marry you or not, she'll end up marrying you."
This was certain.
No matter what methods were used, Hayden would definitely make Isabella obediently listen. As for exactly how to do it, that was Hayden's problem to consider.
Hearing this, Zachary felt relieved.
He understood.
Isabella had no right to refuse in this matter.
But...
Even knowing Isabella would still end up marrying him, somehow, Isabella's attitude of resisting marriage to him still made him a bit unhappy.
He felt that even if he didn't like her, Isabella should still be willing to marry him.
