Chapter 157 I Am the Warm Man
After watching one episode of a show with Isabella, the food was ready and served.
There was fragrant soup, steaming hot pasta, beautifully roasted chicken, and Caesar salad.
For a dinner for three, these dishes were more than enough.
From her past life, Isabella already knew that only William and Sophia lived in this villa.
William first served Isabella a bowl of soup.
"Try it and see if it's too salty."
Isabella took a sip. "It's really good."
William used the serving fork to put a piece of roasted chicken on Isabella's plate. "This drumstick has good meat quality, easier to eat."
"Thank you."
Sophia's mouth dropped open in disbelief as she watched this gentle William who seemed like a warm, family-oriented guy. She wondered if this was really her brother.
William's cooking was really delicious. The soup was fresh, the chicken was roasted perfectly - the meat came right off with just a light bite. Isabella was quite curious why someone who showed no emotions in front of outsiders could also have such a down-to-earth side.
It was as if William's usual cold, keep-away vibe had disappeared in an instant.
Isabella ate with great satisfaction, and quite a lot too. Seeing that she liked the roasted chicken, William gave her more, and even wiped the tiny beads of sweat from the tip of her nose.
Sophia narrowed her eyes slightly and cleared her throat gently.
But neither Isabella nor William even glanced at her - one was busy eating, the other busy taking care of his girlfriend.
Sophia suddenly felt quite unnecessary sitting there.
After dinner, it was getting late.
"Sophia, go practice piano. I'll take Isabella back."
Sophia paused while eating fruit. "What?"
Practice piano?
Sophia was wondering if she had heard wrong when she saw William press his brow. "I almost forgot - the piano teacher I hired for you got sick and had surgery, so she can't come for a while."
Sophia's face scrunched up.
Piano teacher? What piano teacher did she have?
What was this about being sick and having surgery?
She was about to speak when William sighed. "There's less than a month until the piano exam. Can you manage without a teacher during this time?"
Sophia was confused. When did she ever say she was taking next month's piano exam?
Isabella also looked at Sophia. "You're preparing for a piano exam?"
William answered for her: "Yes, Sophia has never passed the level 10 piano exam. I hired a piano teacher to guide her, but that teacher can't come for a while."
William looked at Isabella and changed the subject. "How about you help me teach Sophia during this time?"
Sophia: "..."
So that's what this was all about!
"What?" Isabella was a bit flattered. "Me teach Sophia?"
William shot Sophia a look.
Sophia immediately caught on and grabbed Isabella's hand. "Isabella, you'll help me with this, right? This piano exam is really important to me. My brother said you can even accompany Lawrence at his concert, so helping me pass level 10 shouldn't be hard for you, right?"
Isabella's mouth dropped open in disbelief. "How could it not be hard? With your level, you couldn't pass even if you took it seven times!"
Sophia froze. "What?"
Was she really being hit that hard?
Looking at Sophia's reaction, Isabella suddenly realized she had said the wrong thing.
She covered her mouth. "I didn't mean it like that..."
Sophia failing the level 10 piano exam seven times was from her past life - she had accidentally let it slip.
"Seven times?" William raised an eyebrow.
He stroked his chin.
In the past life, Sophia had indeed failed the level 10 piano exam seven times.
"That's not what I meant. I mean, I have the patience to help Sophia pass the exam. Sophia is so smart, she'll definitely pass. If she doesn't pass once, try twice. If not twice, then seven times. She'll pass eventually after seven tries."
"Why seven times?" William asked.
"Just an example!" Isabella explained frantically. "Maybe Sophia is exceptionally smart and will pass on the first try!"
Though being exceptionally smart was definitely not going to happen.
"So you're agreeing to help me?" Sophia looked at her with bright eyes.
What else could Isabella say?
"Yes, I'll teach you during this time."
After thinking, Isabella added: "How about this - every weekend from now on, I'll come teach you for two hours."
"No problem." Sophia sang for William's love in her heart. "Great, I'm saved."
William led Isabella to the garage.
The night temperature was very low.
William personally drove her back to school.
He started the car and first turned on the heat, then glanced at Isabella in the passenger seat. "It'll take about half an hour to get to school. If you're tired, you can recline the seat and sleep for a bit."
Isabella smiled at William's thoughtfulness. "You really are a warm guy."
William looked puzzled. "What's a warm guy?"
"It's a type of guy who's family-oriented, knows how to take care of his partner, can give people warmth - very considerate, understanding, and has a strong sense of tolerance."
Hearing this, William raised his eyebrows, a bit proud. "I see, then I am a warm guy."
"How did you become so proud? Who evaluates themselves like that?"
William paused, seeming a bit confused. "Why not? I fit all those descriptions perfectly."
Isabella: "..."
When Isabella returned to the dorm, it was already past nine.
As soon as she pushed the door open, Violet looked over at her. "Weren't you going to play chess? Why are you back so late?"
Isabella went in and locked the door behind her. "I went to a friend's house for dinner afterward."
"A friend?"
"Yes, also from our school, but she doesn't live on campus."
Violet didn't ask more, just said: "A teacher came looking for you today. Said there was a document for you to fill out and turn in. I brought it back for you and left it on your desk. Remember to get it."
"What teacher?"
"Kellan."
Isabella walked to her desk and first saw a waterproof, dustproof file folder with several printed pages inside. Opening it for a look, it read "National Calligraphy Association Competition Registration Form."
Violet ran over, very curious. "What's inside? Who's that teacher? Do you know him?"
Although the folder wasn't sealed, Violet didn't have the habit of looking at other people's things without permission. Only after Isabella came back did she dare to peek.
