Chapter 124 The Anderson Family
"is an amateur piano enthusiast."
Alexander raised his eyebrows in disbelief. "Amateur piano enthusiast?"
"I think that must be a modest way of putting it. Your teacher must be a pianist with a well-known reputation."
"Reputation?" Isabella shook her head. "No, she's not some pianist. She's just an ordinary person."
Alexander stroked his chin. "What's your teacher's name? Maybe I've heard of her."
Isabella shook her head. "I don't know. My teacher never told me her name."
"Mr. Garcia, since I already have a teacher, there's no reason for me to take you as my teacher. I hope you understand."
Alexander stroked his chin, and after a moment, nodded. "I understand."
Isabella said nothing more and turned to leave.
As Isabella's figure disappeared, the people in the room all showed expressions of disbelief.
Alexander asked another elderly man, "Zane, what do you think?"
Zane sighed. "Her playing technique is flawless. She definitely learned from a professional pianist. I didn't expect her teacher to be just an ordinary person. It seems true masters hide among common folk..."
Back in the lounge, Isabella found a comfortable chair to lie down in, put on her earbuds, and lazily closed her eyes.
When she opened her eyes again, Lawrence had somehow appeared beside her, smiling happily at her.
"Awake?"
Isabella slightly lifted her stiff legs and took off her headphones. "Is the concert over?"
"Yes, it's over."
"Good, I've been waiting for you forever." Isabella handed over a stack of postcards with Lawrence's photo on them. "Sign these, my roommates want them."
"Your roommates are my fans?"
"Yeah." Isabella's lips curved slightly. "They all came today, using the tickets you gave Violet."
"Those tickets were for you."
Isabella waved her hand. "Same thing."
Lawrence signed the postcards and handed them to Isabella. "Done."
"Thanks. My roommates are still waiting for me outside. I'm heading out."
Hearing she was leaving, Lawrence immediately got anxious. "You're leaving already? I just told Ember to have you stay for dinner with us."
"I'll pass on dinner. I already made plans with my roommates. Besides, if they knew I was having dinner with you, they'd probably tear me apart out of jealousy."
Lawrence scratched his head regretfully. "Alright then."
"Oh!" He suddenly remembered something, his eyes lighting up. "Isabella, I've been wanting to ask you what perfume you use. Can you tell me?"
"Perfume?" Isabella paused.
"Yes!" Lawrence looked straight at her. "The scent on you..."
Before he could finish, Isabella cut him off. "That's not perfume. It's solid fragrance."
Isabella took out a round compact-like solid fragrance case from her pocket.
She opened it in front of Lawrence, and immediately, the familiar scent that Lawrence had noticed wafted out.
Isabella pressed the fragrance case into his hands. "This isn't store-bought. I made it myself."
Lawrence held the fragrance case and took a deep breath. "That's the scent! Isabella, you can even make solid fragrance? This smells better than any perfume I've smelled!"
"If you like it, keep it."
With those words, Isabella walked away.
——
After the four-hour concert, Isabella's stomach was already growling.
"Isabella, you're finally out! We've been waiting so long the flowers are about to wilt!" Aurora checked her watch and couldn't help but exclaim.
Isabella glanced at her. "I'm only this slow because of you guys."
She handed over the stack of postcards signed by Lawrence.
When Aurora and Scarlett saw what it was, their eyes lit up.
"Isabella, you're such a good friend."
Isabella stretched and put her arm around Aurora. "Of course. If I have meat to eat, I won't let you go without soup."
"Since you're kind enough to share your blessings with us, Scarlett and I are treating you to barbecue!"
Isabella smiled slightly. "Sounds good."
The group left the concert hall, hailed a cab by the roadside, and headed to a barbecue restaurant.
They had just sat down when several men in black suits and black gloves pushed through the door.
"Isabella, those people..." Isabella was looking through the menu when she heard Aurora's voice.
Isabella instinctively looked up, and when she saw who it was, her brow immediately furrowed.
The man leading them...
It was actually Andrew Anderson from the Anderson Family, one of the four major families.
Seeing that face, Isabella's spine stiffened, and her eyes became more guarded.
She had mentioned before that Aurora and Violet both met bad ends in her past life.
Violet was framed by Charles and Juniper four years later, ending up disgraced and infected with a virus, while Aurora suddenly disappeared during the summer after the SATs.
To be precise, it wasn't just a disappearance. When she was discovered missing, she was probably already dead. Two weeks later, Aurora's body was found, her entire body cut open, her internal organs removed.
When Isabella heard this news, she was thunderstruck.
She had nightmares for several nights. Thinking about how her former friend had been so brutally murdered, she couldn't sleep.
Isabella couldn't understand why Aurora would be killed so cruelly.
She asked Sophia for help, having Sophia investigate the cause of Aurora's death. After all, it was the Brown Family—they could obtain clues that even the police couldn't find.
Sophia told her that Aurora's death was most likely related to the Anderson Family.
The Anderson Family, one of the four major families, and Aurora, just an ordinary person who wouldn't be noticed in a crowd.
How could Aurora's disappearance be connected to the Anderson Family?
Over two years, with Sophia's help, she gradually uncovered the truth.
The Anderson Family's granddaughter, named Xanthe Anderson, about the same age as Aurora, suffered from uremia with complete kidney failure.
This wasn't a secret—people from the major families all knew about it.
Over the years, the Anderson Family had been searching for a suitable kidney donor for Xanthe. They used various means to access matching database information and found several kidney sources that could match Xanthe.
Aurora was one of them.
Sophia said that according to the timeline, shortly after Aurora disappeared, Xanthe's health recovered, suggesting she had received a kidney transplant.
This was too much of a coincidence. It was almost certain that the Anderson Family had taken Aurora to transplant her kidneys to Xanthe. As for removing all the internal organs from her body, it was just to cover up the ultimate purpose of the kidney transplant.
