Chapter 114 Selection
So even if Isabella did well in school, she could never compare to her.
Bianca felt relieved.
She was the qualified daughter of the Taylor Family, the Taylor Family's one and only precious darling.
Isabella could forget about taking away her parents and brothers!
"Mom, I understand. I'll practice piano hard and try to become a socialite like Phoenix."
After saying this, Bianca started practicing the piece seriously again.
Olivia didn't disturb her anymore. She left the piano room and closed the door. She stood quietly at the door for a while, then thought of Isabella and couldn't help but sigh.
Isabella's grades did surprise her quite a bit.
What a pity. No matter how good her grades were, she was destined never to amount to anything like Bianca would.
——
After Charles and Finnian caused that scene at school that everyone knew about, Isabella thought Charles would be too ashamed to ever approach Violet again.
But unexpectedly, she still underestimated just how shameless Charles could be.
Charles still wouldn't give up. As soon as class ended, he'd rush over to Violet.
"Violet... please forgive me. I really was wrong. I just lost my mind for a moment. I swear, I'll never have anything to do with Juniper again. I'll be completely devoted to you."
It was always the same words. Violet was almost laughing from anger at Charles.
What made him think there was still any possibility between them?
Some things, once they've happened, can never be undone.
Violet frowned, pressed her lips together, and said coldly, "Charles, there's really no chance for us anymore. Can you please stop pestering me?"
The students in Class 11 were also fed up.
"Charles, can you have some shame? You run here every break, deliberately disrupting our class's studying, right?"
"This is ridiculous. You cheated, but you're acting like the victim! Disgusting!"
"Charles, get lost. You're not welcome here."
Seeing Violet's unusually firm attitude, Charles's face immediately darkened.
He angrily pointed at Violet and shouted, "You're so cruel and heartless! You keep holding onto such a small thing! How can there be such a heartless woman like you in this world?"
After shouting, Charles turned and left angrily.
He clenched his fists, his eyes full of bloodshot veins.
He finally saw clearly that Violet didn't love him at all, otherwise she wouldn't be so cruel to him.
Fortunately.
He still had Juniper.
Juniper was the one who would always stay by his side.
Charles didn't return to his classroom. Instead, he went to the private high school where Juniper was to find her.
He wanted to see her.
Desperately.
Charles waited at the school gate until 5:50, right when school let out.
Finally, students started coming out of the campus one after another.
Charles immediately spotted the figure he'd been dreaming about.
Juniper was wearing her private high school uniform, walking toward him with a group of young men and women, laughing and chatting.
Charles couldn't wait and rushed over, looking at her with a smile, "Juniper..."
The group of young people immediately looked at him.
Juniper also paused for a moment, her gaze falling on Charles, but there was no surprise or delight in her eyes—only a frown.
One of the good-looking guys asked her, "Juniper, do you know him?"
Juniper's gaze swept lightly over Charles. She shook her head and said indifferently, "I don't know him."
The smile on Charles's face froze instantly.
How could she not know him?
"Juniper, what's wrong with you?" Charles looked confused. Juniper was looking at him like a complete stranger, with none of the tender affection she showed when they were alone together.
"If she doesn't know you, why are you calling her name?" the others wondered.
Juniper squeezed her palms. "He's probably some psycho."
She turned to look at the guy beside her and directly linked her arm with his. "Let's go."
The guy stopped looking at Charles and left with his arm around Juniper's shoulder.
Charles watched their intimate figures walking away, completely thunderstruck, his face suddenly looking terrible.
He stood there for a long, long time, long after no one else was coming out, and then suddenly burst into hysterical laughter.
It was all lies.
Juniper had lied to him about everything!
All that talk about staying with him even if she couldn't get the Cooper Family's factory—it was all lies to fool him.
How could he have been so stupid?
For such a fake woman, he actually gave up Violet, gave up his childhood sweetheart.
It was too ridiculous.
Simply too ridiculous.
Charles finally realized just how terribly wrong he'd been.
——
Isabella's taxi passed by this private high school, and she happened to catch sight of Charles.
He was nailed there like a statue, completely motionless.
Isabella didn't alert Violet, who was busy memorizing lyrics beside her. She just acted as if she hadn't seen anything and calmly looked away.
Charles was in the past now. From now on, her good friend would embrace a bright and brilliant future.
Isabella felt gratified and accomplished about this.
Living her life over again, she hoped that both she and the people around her could escape from the shadows.
Lawrence had called her earlier, confirming that she would be the accompanist. He'd also sent her the songs that would need accompaniment at the concert, asking her to prepare in advance.
Isabella had briefly looked them over—nothing difficult.
After hanging up with Lawrence, she thought it over. Not knowing when Violet might be discovered by Nova Arts & Entertainment, why not take the initiative instead of waiting passively?
But the target wouldn't be Nova Arts & Entertainment.
It would be Infinity Entertainment Inc., where Lawrence worked.
In terms of resources, Infinity Entertainment Inc., as Lumaria's largest entertainment company, was way better than Nova Arts & Entertainment.
She hadn't realized before that successfully meeting Lawrence was an opportunity for Violet.
So she immediately asked Lawrence if Infinity Entertainment Inc. could sign Violet.
Lawrence said Infinity Entertainment Inc. happened to be holding auditions recently, but whether she'd be successfully selected would depend on her performance.
After all, no matter how capable Infinity Entertainment Inc. was, they couldn't turn someone who was tone-deaf into a singer.
And the audition was today.
The taxi stopped at the entrance of Infinity Entertainment Inc. Isabella and Violet got out.
Violet was incredibly nervous, her palms sweating. "Isabella, aren't we being too confident? Can I really handle Infinity Entertainment Inc.'s audition?"
It wasn't that she lacked confidence—it was because the people participating in Infinity Entertainment Inc.'s auditions were all incredibly talented.
She was just an ordinary singer. Could she really compete with those gifted people?
Isabella patted her shoulder casually. "Believe in yourself."
Violet followed nervously behind Isabella into Infinity Entertainment Inc.
Worthy of being half of Lumaria's entertainment industry, Infinity Entertainment Inc.'s building was extremely luxurious, and the interior was quite magnificent and grand.
They were looking around when suddenly a female voice rang out:
"Isn't this Violet? What are you doing here?"
Violet looked over and saw a girl about her age wearing a white princess dress standing there.
Her makeup was fresh and cute, and she radiated youthful energy.
But the way the girl looked at Violet was full of contempt and disdain.
