Chapter 104 All Ruined by Isabella!
Isabella couldn't help but smirk when she heard this.
"So according to you, even after breaking up with you, I should still avoid other guys for your sake?"
"Charles, don't think too highly of yourself."
Charles immediately looked toward Isabella when he heard the voice.
It was that idiot Isabella again!
Charles absolutely hated her.
If it weren't for Isabella, would Violet have broken up with him over such a small matter?
Just when Violet was about to shine and he was about to make it big, everything was ruined!
All ruined by Isabella!
Charles angrily retorted, "What does this have to do with you? What right do you have to butt in here?"
Isabella was about to speak when Violet pulled her behind protectively and stared coldly at Charles. "You're the one who has no right to speak!"
"Isabella is right. We've been broken up for almost two weeks now. Do you really expect me to stay faithful to you? So what if I accept someone's confession today? That's my business and has nothing to do with you."
"Also, Charles, when I was with you, I never wronged you. You were the one who betrayed this relationship first. You still haven't realized your mistake, and you think a few sweet words from you means I should get back together with you? Where do you get that confidence?"
Charles's face darkened at Violet's lecture, and he snapped in frustration, "Violet! Enough! Stop slandering me! Don't forget, my dad lost a leg saving your dad's life. Your dad personally promised to marry you to me! Now you're just popular from singing and you want to break up with me? I never thought you were this kind of person!"
"Whether we break up or not isn't up to you!"
He glared at Violet viciously, then strode toward the school gate.
Violet watched his retreating figure, clenching her fists.
She never imagined that the person she'd liked for so many years would not only cheat, but also turn around and blame her after the breakup.
Isabella recalled what Charles had just said and frowned. "What did he mean just now about his dad losing a leg... what happened?"
She'd never heard about this before.
Violet sighed.
"My dad and his dad used to work at the same mine. Once there was an accident at the mine, and his dad broke his leg saving my dad. Thanks to his dad, my dad was rescued, but his dad's leg had to be amputated."
"After that, our family has always been grateful for his dad's kindness, so our two families became very close..."
"And after that accident, his dad lost the ability to work. My dad never forgot his dad's life-saving grace and sends him money regularly every year. The mine wages weren't enough to support both families' living expenses, so my dad started doing business, running a plastics factory. Now he's considered a small business owner."
Violet felt nostalgic thinking about the past.
"Charles and I are the same age, childhood friends who liked each other, so many years ago my dad and his dad agreed that our families would be joined through marriage..."
She really never thought things would turn out this way.
——
Meanwhile, Charles had just left campus when he saw Juniper.
Charles ran over excitedly. "Juniper, what are you doing here? How have you been lately? Why haven't you replied to any of my messages?"
Juniper pressed her lips together and looked down without speaking.
After being expelled from Stellar High School, her parents had pulled strings and spent a lot of money to get her into a private high school.
The learning environment there was terrible.
But she had no choice but to spend the rest of her senior year there.
Juniper came to find Charles today because she had something to ask him. After thinking for a moment, she probed carefully:
"Charles, you said before that once you got engaged to Violet, her family's factory would be yours. But now that you've broken up with Violet, that factory..."
At the mention of the factory, a greedy ruthlessness flashed in Charles's eyes.
He clenched his fists. "Juniper, don't worry. No matter what, I'll get that factory!"
If his dad hadn't saved Zephyr Cooper, how would he have been amputated? If his dad were still whole, how would their family be so poor?
Zephyr was doing well though—he got his life back and even opened a plastics factory.
From what he knew, that plastics factory now made three hundred thousand dollars a year.
Yet Zephyr only gave their family fifty thousand dollars a year!
Like he was giving handouts to beggars!
He had to take back what belonged to him!
From the beginning, he got together with Violet for the Cooper family's plastics factory. Because Zephyr only had one daughter, Violet, and Zephyr's health had been damaged in that mine accident—he'd been struggling these past years. Once he married Violet, the Cooper family's plastics factory would naturally be run by him.
Everything was part of Charles's calculation.
As soon as he graduated, he could get engaged to Violet.
Then Zephyr would gradually let him take over running the plastics factory. In three to five years, when the factory's management rights fully belonged to him, he'd divorce Violet and marry Juniper!
He just didn't expect Isabella to mess everything up.
Thinking of this, a cold look appeared in Charles's eyes. "Zephyr still owes my family a life! If Violet wants to break up with me, she has to pay back that debt first!"
"I'm going to talk to my dad about it. After all, my marriage to Violet was already settled. It involves that accident from over ten years ago, it involves a human life. The Cooper family has no right to back out!"
"Can you really still get that factory?"
Charles said confidently, "Of course."
Juniper breathed a slight sigh of relief.
After all, she got together with Charles because she had her eye on Charles eventually inheriting the Cooper family's factory. If Charles couldn't even do that, she'd have no reason to keep being with him.
"How did you get hurt?" Juniper concealed the calculation in her eyes and gently touched the wound on Charles's face.
"Someone confessed to Violet, I ran into them, so I rushed over and got into a fight with him."
Charles added, "I beat him off."
"Be more careful next time." Juniper looked distressed.
Juniper's concern made Charles feel somewhat comforted in his wounded heart.
His Juniper had always been such a gentle person.
