Chapter 62
“What’s with all the commotion?” Martin asked as he walked in with a frown on his face.
When they walked in, they had only met Brooke downstairs and sent her to come fetch Scarlet, who knew that they would hear her screaming. He knew of his younger brother’s fame but never thought that even girls of Scarlet’s age were her fans; still, he didn’t mind the scream. They continued waiting till he and Sophia got tired of waiting and could hear Scarlet’s shouts, causing them to show up there.
“Uncle,” Scarlet called him as she was respectful to him more than she was to Austin. Austin had always been a joker; she never took him seriously, but with Martin, he had always had that maturity aura, causing her to keep her distance and know what he was worth.
As for their eldest brother Shane, he was just another level. He was just a complete version of her mother when she was at work; the only difference was that he was still the same even at home. She had always been afraid of the man and avoided him every time; luckily, he rarely visited them, only during the New Year.
They all thought that she was stupid, but she wasn’t. She knew that they had to be related somehow to her mother. She had often overheard her mother asking Shane how her grandparents are, what has been happening back at home, and everything. She also knew that her mother had a lot of properties all over the world, so her question was, where did all of that go? Or did she miss something?
In her past life, the largest company ended up in Shane’s hands. He had developed it to another level that it ended up being on par with the Singhs Group. She knew of it as her mother had once mentioned all her companies to her. The company Santino had signed with was also another. She suspected that her mother had opened it for him, so that he couldn’t suffer in our people’s company, but she just couldn’t prove it.
Austin’s car company? Yes, that’s right. He is a racer and at the same time, the most famous car manufacturer and dealer. The name has her mother’s initials. She never asked anything when she was young cause she didn’t care. In her past life, after losing everything, she understood that if she told her suspicions to her father or even godparents, they would make sure they take them all for themselves through her. She opted not to. And now, she wasn’t interested in knowing it at all. She just wanted to earn her own money, build her own company, and create wealth. She could only find security in that.
“What’s going on here, Scar?” Martin asked.
“Just chasing him away so that we can continue with the renovations. Uncle, aunt, why don’t you go and start working on the designs?” Scarlet said after glaring at Austin, blaming him, which Austin shrugged at.
Martin looked at her for a bit, then nodded.
“How old is she? Shouldn’t he have already gotten married and had kids?” Scarlet whispered in Austin’s ears, causing him to snicker, which attracted Martin’s attention, who had just turned to leave.
“Guess,” Austin said as he winked at Scarlet.
“You are eight years older than me, Santino is six years older, just like your aunt. But I don’t know his age,” Scarlet said as she pouted, but she was blinking her eyes as she stared at Austin to tell him.
Austin was dumbfounded when he heard that she knew how old he was.
“He is twelve years older than you,” Austin said, as there was nothing to hide.
“No way. He has always been famous since I was a kid. Also, how could he travel every time, and he was underage?” Scarlet asked with a frown as she fell into deep thoughts.
“Private plane, little bambino,” he replied as he patted her head, which made Scarlet hit his hand and glare at him.
“Stop calling me that name!” she told him. She had learnt a lot of foreign languages since she was a kid, thus she knew and understood Italian. Also, when she was with Austin and Santino, they had mostly spoken to her in Italian.
“Just like Sofia, he pursued his dream since he was a kid and became famous. Sofia lived with us for only six months, but it was enough to make her a well-known and respected designer. What would have happened if she had been in the family since she was young? Let’s say six or five. She would have been famous like him at the age of twelve,” Austin explained.
“Santino, he started acting at seven,” Austin said. When they were taken in, he was six, and his brother was four. After getting the treatment and going back to America, shit happened, and their mother ran away. However, they had always been in touch; they always visited them, she followed what they were doing and their dreams.
“Oh, so I am the only one who isn’t famous?” Scarlet asked.
