Chapter 126
Scarlet stared at her and chuckled. She had initially thought that the lady hated her new sister but from her later words, she knew that her sister was being despised cause of the friends she make.
She stared at Wren’s friend, making the girl nervous that she held Wren’s hem. Wren shoved her coldly to the side and Scarlet saw Zippy’s eyes litting up when she saw Wren’s actions.
She stood up and walked towards the young lady and whispered something to her ear. Zippy immediately got nervous then panicked when she heard Scarlet’s words.
She looked at Wren nervously then turned to Scarlet only to see her chuckling by herself. When Samantha saw Scarlet’s actions, they all stared at Zippy trying to see through her cause no one ever gets Scarlets attention. When they saw how Zippy was looking at Wren from the corner of her eyes, they all mumbled together then stared at Wren as they wondered why Scarlet seemed to care about her.
“So, are we going?” Scarlet asked Wren who was still stunned when she saw that Zippy didn’t push Scarlet away.
She knew that everyone who talked to her or befriended her would always be hated and bullied by the latter so she had not expected much from Zippy. Who knew that she couldn’t even do anything to Scarlet and Scarlet was the one who seemed to get hold onto her?
Sensing Scarlet waiting for her answer, she nodded as it would be good going out to forget what had happened here.
Scarlet saw Wren’s answer, she stared at Zippy who snorted but didn’t say anything.
“No way!” Angela shouted as she seemed to have discovered something. She opened her mouth wanting to say something but when she saw Cate and the others were still there, she hurriedly closed her mouth.
But most of Cate’s group had been in love so it wasn’t impossible to see what was wrong with Zippy. However, what they wanted to know was whether Scarlet knew and if she did, was she going to help the young lady?
“We want to buy some souvenirs,” Scarlet told the two who looked at each other. “You guys can decide where we should first visit.”
Soon the salesperson who had walked away with Wren’s card came back and handed it to her.
“Please, can you send everything we chose to the Singh mansion?” Scarlet told her when she recalled that they had not given the address yet. The salesperson was stunned and stared at Scarlet who a moment before nodding her head.
She had initially wondered why Wren seemed to give the latter respect, so it turned out to be a Singh. However, before Shanaya’s death, they had all thought that in another five to ten years, the Singhs will be on par or surpass the Williams but now, they were all looking at the sidelines to know how it will go.
The group then left the store. Cate sighed when she saw that. She wondered why she had been nervous cause of her sister-in-law when the latter couldn’t be bullied easily. She could even bully the family elders so how could girls her age able to do anything to her.
“That sister-in-law of yours,” Cate’s sister said after watching them walk away.
“If you had lived in the same environment as she had, you would be like her,” Cate retorted, her sister stared at her but didn’t refute her cause Cate was right, she had been pampered all her life.
Initially, she had always pitied her sister for marrying a poor man but who knew that the man had been hiding his identity? Everytime they mocked him, didn’t he always laugh at them secretly?
However, they had all blamed Cate till she told them that she never knew anything till she had been brought for the burial. With that, they let it go. But still, they found it heard to believe that she had gotten such a man.
Did she ask herself why Shanaya had not chosen her? No, she didn’t have any of thoughts. Though she had always not liked her sister in public, she still cared deeply for her and was happy. After all, with such a powerful sister, would anyone dare look down on her?
The man she had loved had cheated on her, her fiancé whom she had always been most proud of. Last week on the weekend, she had attended her friend’s party only to see her fiancé kissing someone from another room. When she asked him, everyone in that room had mocked her. With what? That their family was about to fall and she wasn’t worth it, there wasn’t anyone who was talented enough like the old fellows.
She had been in pain, always burying herself in her pillow crying not even going to work. Her sister had about it and had called her telling her the other woman’s identity, that was when she realized that her fiancé mistress was her business rival and when she wasn’t going to work, they were busy stealing orders and gemstones suppliers.
She had just been looking for new suppliers when her sister’s mother-in-law’s death reached them. Initially, she had not want to participate as she was busy but her mother told her that they might get to know affluent people from America. Who knew that they even didn’t need to please people cause they now had such backers?
She had taken pictures during the burial and posted them both on her weibo and moments which stunned her circle. Her fiancée had been trying to reach her since and even apologising for what he did. Thankfully, she had cancelled the engagement immediately she came out from her room before getting back to work.
Now, after her sister told her their plans, she didn’t need to bow down to anyone, either would their family. They had gotten the resources they needed and could still be the richest and top family for another century.
“Is there any need of us staying here any longer or should we go back and prepare what we need for the collaborations?” Cate’s brother asked as he was feeling anxious and wanted to go back to business immediately.
