Chapter 193 I Don’t Like You Either
John said irritably, "Early this morning, Willow said she felt dizzy and wanted to go to the hospital. The family doctor checked her and said she was fine, but she insisted on going anyway. Come on, she just doesn't want to see the Turner family."
Natasha’s the worst, causing chaos at the worst possible moment. Not one of them gives me a moment’s peace.
John sighed, his eyes fixed on Henry.
I understood what he meant—he wanted Henry to step in and handle his family affairs.
Ridiculous. John couldn't even manage his own wife and daughter, yet he expected Henry to do it. And how would Henry manage it? Most likely by throwing money at the problem.
Henry's money didn't grow on trees. They treated him like a walking ATM.
With that thought, before he could finish speaking, I turned to Henry and said, "Dad, Joseph's batch of goods has been produced. His people will probably come to pick them up today. Should we head back to meet with Joseph's people?"
Henry took this collaboration with Joseph very seriously. Hearing this, he instinctively stood up. Just as we were about to leave, a loud crash came from upstairs—so loud it startled all of us.
The servants in the house rushed upstairs to check. Soon a panicked voice rang out, "Natasha! Quick, call a doctor, call a doctor!"
Hearing this, John bolted upstairs.
Well, there was no leaving now.
Henry and I had no choice but to follow him .
When we got upstairs, we saw Natasha lying on the floor, surrounded by broken glass.
"What were you trying to do? Jump out the window?"
John was nearly exploding with anger at the scene.
Natasha lay on the floor, eyes squeezed shut, pretending to be out cold.
"Someone, pull her up!"
At John's command, Natasha finally opened her eyes. Before she could speak, she burst into tears.
"You already have another daughter, why do you even care about me!?"
"You!"
I could see John was holding back his anger as he crouched down. "Natasha, if you keep this up, I'll have you committed to a psychiatric hospital."
Natasha scrambled to her feet and clung to John’s legs, crying.
"Dad, why are you so unfair? I'm your real daughter, so why have you treated me this way ever since Serenity showed up?"
Natasha cried, wiping her tears on John’s legs.
This infuriated John, but Natasha didn't give him a chance to speak. She continued sobbing, "Ever since Serenity came, Mom has become so much colder, and Dad doesn't love me anymore. Even Ivan seems troubled since he came back. Dad, is Serenity more important than the three of us?"
John might not care about Willow and Natasha, but he couldn't ignore Ivan.
Hearing this, John couldn't hold back anymore. "Don't overthink it. Serenity's wedding date is set. She'll be married soon and won't compete with you for anything."
"I don't believe you! Look at all the things you bought her—every single item is expensive, and I don't have any of them!"
In the end, Natasha was just fighting over money.
John was getting a headache from all the fuss. He finally said helplessly, "Fine, fine, stop making a scene. As long as you stop, I'll buy you everything in her room. Is that good enough?"
Having achieved her goal, Natasha got up from the floor and grinned at John. "Thank you, Dad. As long as you're willing to buy them for me, I'll behave. But I need to make one thing clear—Serenity's wedding gift cannot be worth more than mine!"
John frowned. "I’ll get you both the same gifts. Is that okay?"
"No!"
Hearing this, Natasha flew into a rage. "Why should she get the same as me? She doesn't deserve it!"
"I won't allow her wedding gift to be the same as mine. Otherwise, I'll ruin her wedding with Antony and make sure she has no place left in Starwave City!"
Her words made John's face change color. But after all, she was his biological daughter. If she really made a scene without restraint, John truly couldn't do anything about it.
John took a deep breath, hiding his anger. "What do you want?"
"I don't want anything. I just won't allow our wedding gifts to be worth the same. She only deserves half of what my wedding gift is worth. Also, you're not allowed to help her privately. If I find out, I won't let it go."
Natasha’s tantrum was driving John crazy. He shouted angrily, "You're both my daughters. What's wrong with treating you equally? Do you have to be so harsh?"
"Yes, I've never acknowledged her as my sister.I only recognize Ivan and myself as your children. As for anyone else, they'll have to get past Ivan and me if they want a share of the family fortune!"
Natasha kept shouting. Hearing her mention Ivan, John could no longer contain his anger. "How dare you drag Ivan into this! What are you trying to do?"
John's voice was loud, but Natasha's was louder. "I'm not trying to do anything. I just won't let you give money to Serenity. If you do, I'll jump out of the window again!!"
Natasha lunged toward the window, acting as if she would jump.
They were on the third floor. Even if the fall didn’t kill her, it would leave her badly hurt. Natasha's actions immediately scared everyone around her.
"Natasha, what are you doing? Come back here!"
Seeing she was serious, John had no choice but to shout.
Henry, though also displeased with Natasha, was surprised by how things had developed and feared an actual accident might occur, so he joined in trying to persuade her.
"Natasha, come down quickly. I'll have a good talk with your father about this. Don't worry, no matter what, Serenity will never be more important than you."
Henry's words carried some weight. Natasha softened a bit after hearing them.
"You really mean that?"
Henry nodded and took a few steps forward, reaching out his hand. "Yes, now come down."
Hearing this, Natasha slowly withdrew her foot from the windowsill. Just as Henry's hand was about to touch her, a voice came from the doorway. "What are you all doing?"
Everyone turned to look—it was Serenity.
The moment she saw her, Natasha’s foot snapped back onto the windowsill. She pointed at Serenity furiously. "Get out! Get out! I don't want to see you right now."
Seeing her so agitated, John turned to comfort Serenity. "Serenity, please leave for now. Natasha, she..."
He sighed and shook his head.
Instead of leaving, Serenity walked into the room and looked at Natasha. "I know you don't like me, but that's fine—I don't like you either!"
