Chapter 177 Visiting the Patient
"Of course it's because I care about you!"
Atlas said loudly, "You have no idea—the moment I heard Zane was giving you trouble, I wanted to rush back immediately."
"Don't worry, Helena. Whatever he put you through today, I'll make sure to get back at him for you."
Hearing this, I finally felt relieved.
I didn't want my relationship with Atlas to be affected by Zane.
"I'm fine. What about you? You must have gotten quite a scolding, right?"
Hearing my words, Atlas on the other end of the phone said, "No, I'm fine. Helena, don't worry about me. What about you? Where are you now?"
"I'm still at Twilight Lounge."
Hearing this, Atlas quickly said, "Stay right there. I'm coming now!"
"You don't have to—"
Before I could finish, Atlas hung up.
I looked at Quincy somewhat helplessly and said, "I was planning to leave with you, but now I guess I can't."
"I understand, I understand!"
Quincy said with a grin, "Go have a nice date with your Atlas. I'll just head back to the office."
Just as she finished speaking, there was a loud bang. The door to the private room was pushed open from outside, and Kenneth rushed in, sweating profusely.
Seeing the two of us standing there perfectly fine, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Are you two okay?"
He raised his hand to loosen the tie around his neck.
Seeing him, Quincy said disdainfully, "Took you long enough. If we were waiting for you to rescue us, it would've been too late!"
"Sorry, sorry. Traffic jam. When I got your call, I didn't waste a single second."
Kenneth kept apologizing.
Quincy had actually called Kenneth for help? Since when were they this close?
I looked back and forth between them with a puzzled expression.
Noticing my gaze, Quincy said somewhat embarrassed, "Don't read too much into it. I just thought if there was a fight, he could take a beating."
Hearing this, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Alright, alright, let's go!"
Quincy said, heading out first. As she walked, she reminded me, "If there's any problem, call me right away. I'll be there whenever you need. And Zane—don't let him off easy!"
"Okay, I got it!"
I replied with a smile, raising my hand to say goodbye to Kenneth.
"Are you okay here by yourself? If not, come with us," Kenneth asked with concern.
"Why are you making trouble? Her boyfriend will be here soon," Quincy said, rolling her eyes at him. Kenneth finally realized, "I forgot about that. We'll go first then. Call if you need anything."
Kenneth waved at me as he spoke.
Not long after they left, the door to the private room was pushed open again, and Atlas rushed in, out of breath.
"Helena!"
Seeing me standing there fine, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"You really scared me to death!"
Atlas pulled me into his arms. I could hear his heart beating rapidly, as if it would jump out of his chest.
"Helena, please don't meet other men alone anymore, okay? Don't see anyone except me. You have no idea—when I heard that you and Zane got into a fight in the private room, my heart almost stopped."
Atlas held me even tighter. "I was so scared. Helena, you can't scare me like this again."
"Why don't you ask about Zane's situation?"
I smiled and gently pushed him away. "Did you think I'd come out to meet him alone without being fully prepared?"
Seeing that I was still in the mood to joke, Atlas finally relaxed and gently tapped my nose.
"As long as you're not hurt, that's all that matters. I don't care about his situation."
Seeing that he truly didn't care, I felt relieved and smiled. "If your family heard you say that, who knows what they'd do to you."
"I'm not afraid, as long as you're by my side."
Atlas leaned down and kissed me deeply on the lips. When he lifted his head, he asked, "What exactly happened? Can you tell me?"
Even if he hadn't asked, I was going to tell him anyway. I couldn't pass up such a good opportunity to complain.
I told him everything in detail—how Zane had asked me to meet, and what happened after I arrived and saw him with Thaddeus.
After hearing it all, Atlas's anger instantly shot through the roof. "That damn bastard dared to hurt you. He must have a death wish."
Then he looked at me and said, "Helena, you go back first. I need to handle something."
Seeing him ready to settle scores, I knew he was going after Zane.
I grabbed his sleeve. "I'll come with you."
Hearing this, Atlas paused for a moment but quickly came to his senses. "Okay, let's go together."
He held my hand and walked out.
We got in the car and soon arrived at the hospital. We didn't need to search—as soon as we entered, a nurse led us to Zane's room.
This was the VIP ward. The entire floor was guarded by Lancaster family security. Ordinary people couldn't get in at all.
Seeing Atlas arrive, the guards quickly let us through.
After pushing open the door and entering, I discovered the Lancaster family was all there.
"Helena, why are you here?"
Seeing me, Amy quickly glanced into the room, then turned back to me. "Zane said you were the one who injured his head. Is that true?"
Just as Amy finished speaking, an angry voice rang out. Yvonne rushed out, pointing at me and shouting, "Helena, how dare you come here!"
"You hurt my son like this. How can there be someone as ruthless as you in this world!"
"Yvonne, you flatter me."
I smiled coldly. "If your son hadn't tried to hurt me first, I wouldn't have had to do this."
"We're here to see Zane. Move aside!"
At Atlas's command, Yvonne involuntarily stepped back a few paces. By the time she realized it and tried to stop us, it was too late—I had already followed Atlas into the room.
Zane on the hospital bed saw me instantly, his eyes widening in disbelief. "You actually dare to come!"
"Why wouldn't I dare? I'm not the one who did something wrong."
I slowly walked into the room, looking at Zane with his head wrapped in thick bandages, and clicked my tongue. "Zane, your head is really fragile."
"Helena, you bitch! I'm going to kill you, kill you!"
Zane grabbed a pillow from the bed and threw it wildly at me.
Unfortunately, the pillow didn't even touch the hem of my clothes before Atlas punched it to the ground.
"Have I been too lenient with you, letting you become so lawless that you even dare to hurt my girlfriend!"
Atlas's low voice, tinged with anger, echoed through the room.
