Chapter 153: Provocation at the Door
The next morning when I got to the office, I was surprised to see that Quincy had actually shown up.
"Quincy, long time no see."
As soon as I saw her, I hugged her happily and almost jumped up.
"Alright, alright, if your employees see you like this, they'll laugh at you!"
Quincy said as she pushed me away and tossed a bag over. "Look, I brought you a gift."
I opened it and found a really beautiful watch in an elegant box. I recognized it right away as a new release from a top world brand this year.
This watch couldn't necessarily be bought even with money, and the price was as high as tens of millions of dollars.
"Why'd you buy me such an expensive gift? Did you sell your company or something?"
I said this while happily putting the watch on my wrist. I have to say, it really looked good.
"What kind of person do you think I am?"
Quincy swayed into the office and sat down on the sofa with an arrogant attitude. "Where's the coffee? I'm here and you're not serving me yet?"
"Coming right up!"
I went out myself to get her a latte and handed it to her.
"Ms. Blake, your coffee."
Quincy took a sip and tasted it. "This doesn't taste right. Next time I come, remember to have hand-brewed coffee ready. I don't drink instant."
"Yes, I've noted that. I guarantee Ms. Blake will be satisfied next time."
After saying that, we both burst out laughing.
After we finished laughing, I pointed at the watch on my wrist. "So what's the real story here? Tell me."
Quincy put down her cup. "Didn't I go abroad on a business trip a few days ago? When I saw this watch at the exhibition hall, I immediately thought of you, so I just bought it."
I sighed. "That's really something, just casually buying a watch worth tens of millions of dollars. You've only been working for a few days and you're already this rich."
"Of course!"
When it came to the company, Quincy's eyes lit up.
"I'm planning to have the company completely under my control in another year."
"That's amazing!"
I was really happy to hear this and quickly said, "Don't rush off. After work, let's find a bar and celebrate."
"Sure, I'll slack off for a day and relax at your place today."
As she said this, she leaned back on the sofa, yawning repeatedly. "You know what, I'm actually getting a bit sleepy."
"Then lie down for a while. I'll get you a blanket."
By the time I got up to find a blanket, Quincy had already laid down and fallen fast asleep.
I carefully covered her with the blanket. Looking at the dark circles under her eyes, I knew she must have been exhausted lately.
After getting up, I gently pulled down the window curtains, and the room instantly darkened.
I could hear Quincy's soft breathing, and my heart felt much calmer.
The morning passed quickly. When I got up from the computer, she still hadn't woken up.
I tiptoed to open the door, walked out, and gently closed it behind me.
When I came back after eating lunch in the cafeteria, I saw quite a few people in the office area gathered together, looking toward my office.
Seeing my office door wide open, I instantly had a bad feeling.
"What's going on?"
Seeing me return, York quickly came over. "Helena, it seems Knox is here."
Knox, what's he doing here?
My blood instantly rushed to my head, and I walked angrily toward the office.
Worried I might be at a disadvantage, York quickly had someone call security while he followed behind me with a serious expression.
"Knox, you still dare to come looking for Helena? Do you think we don't all know about your disgusting behavior?"
Inside the office, Quincy was pointing at Knox's nose and cursing him out.
"If it weren't for Helena being kind, all your dirty, rotten business would have been exposed long ago. She's waited until now?"
Quincy was cursing enthusiastically when she saw me arrive and said directly, "Knox, Helena's here. If you have something to say, say it."
Hearing this, Knox turned to see me, and some of his anger dissipated. He took out his phone and pointed at the news on it. "Helena, did you have someone do this?"
It was still the top headline, but this time Knox was the main character in the news.

I held back my laughter and handed the phone back.
"Knox, so you had these romantic affairs? That really opened my eyes."
"Helena, don't tell me you don't know!"
He said furiously, "You definitely did this. It's because of those entertainment reports a few days ago, so you're holding a grudge, right?"
I crossed my arms and stared at him coldly. "So you're admitting that last time's entertainment report was your doing?"
"I didn't!"
Knox said angrily, "I didn't even know about it, okay!"
"Since you didn't know, how would I know? And all this mess between you and Lucy - if I'd known about it, could I have held back until now?"
As soon as I said this, Knox became somewhat suspicious.
Seeing this, I reminded him, "Natasha is your fiancée now. Instead of thinking about how to comfort Natasha, you came here to find me. Aren't you afraid of what Natasha will think if she finds out?"
When I mentioned Natasha, Knox's expression immediately turned ugly.
Seeing that my words had worked, I made a gesture for him to leave. "Please go. From now on, you should come to the Lockwood Group less often, so Natasha won't misunderstand if she finds out."

I laughed and pushed her.
