Chapter 112: Helena is My Girlfriend

Chapter 113: Borrowing Your Boyfriend

Next time? What does Serenity think this is, her personal convenience store?

"No need. Ask now. If you don't want to ask, we can just contact each other by phone in the future. No need to make a special trip here."

I really didn't want to deal with Serenity.

Seeing how blunt I was, Serenity's face flushed with embarrassment. She could only say in a low voice, "Helena, this matter is work-related, but it's also my personal business."

"I was planning to tell you privately and quietly, but since you're asking me to say it now, I'll just say it directly."

This talk about it being both work and personal had me completely confused.

"Alright, whatever it is, just spit it out."

"It's just that after I started working at the company, several single men keep inviting me out. I feel bad refusing them, but if this keeps going on, it's not good either. I figured you must have a solution, Helena, so I rushed over to ask."

I thought it was actually some difficulty she encountered at the company, but it turned out to be just this ridiculous romantic matter.

I really suspected that Serenity was just using work as an excuse to come see me.

I frowned. "Didn't you already go on a blind date? Just have Antony pick you up from work a few times."

"But..."

Serenity stammered, "I feel I'm still young and don't want to settle down so quickly."

I was so frustrated I had to laugh.

What "still young"—what a lame excuse to use.

She clearly just didn't think much of Antony but still wanted to maintain the relationship with him.

"In that case, I can't help you. You should go back and discuss it with your family. If it really doesn't work out, then just don't go to work."

Seeing me directly block her path, Serenity's eyes reddened again.

"But Helena, I want to become a strong career woman like you. I don't want to be a useless decoration. Helena, can you please help me?"

I didn't know what scheme was going on in Serenity's head. I crossed my arms and stared at her coldly. "What exactly do you want to do? Hurry up and say it. I don't have time to listen to you ramble on."

"Helena, I'm your cousin! It hurts my feelings when you talk to me like this."

Seeing Serenity about to cry again, I called out directly, "York, come here."

"Coming!"

York rushed into the office, looked at the scene before him, and scratched the back of his head. "Helena, what's going on?"

"I need to work. Hurry up and take her out."

"Okay!"

York was about to physically pull Serenity away.

Seeing I was serious, Serenity stopped crying and wiped her tears. "Helena, I know this little matter of mine probably means nothing to you, but I've never dealt with something like this before. I really don't know how to handle it."

"Could you..."

As Serenity spoke, her gaze unconsciously drifted toward Atlas.

I instantly understood—Serenity had gone in such a big circle just to get to this!

I snorted coldly. "Fine, since you've already thought of a solution, go ahead and ask yourself. If Atlas helps you, I have no objection."

"But I'm afraid Mr. Lancaster will be angry. I don't dare."

Serenity's gaze dropped, staring at her toes.

Seeing her like this, I was furious. In just this short time since Serenity arrived at my office, she was already eyeing two different men.

"Don't tell me you want me to ask for you?"

Serenity looked up at me, her eyes gleaming with hope. "Can you, Helena? You'll help me, right?"

"Yes, of course I'll help you."

I couldn't help but laugh coldly. Just moments ago, Atlas had announced in front of her that he was my boyfriend.

Did Serenity have no ears or no brain? Had she forgotten completely in an instant?

Did she think all men were like Knox, unfaithful in relationships? Since she insisted on making trouble for herself, I didn't mind obliging her this once.

"Atlas, Serenity says she wants to borrow you to help fend off her admirers."

"What?"

Atlas, who had been sitting on the sofa reading a book with his head down, finally looked up in confusion. "Help her?"

He then put the book back in its place, leaned back against the sofa, and said coldly, "Serenity, you're so young—how are your ears already failing you?"

"I just made it very clear that I'm Helena's boyfriend. Is it appropriate for me to help you fend off admirers?"

Serenity's face went pale as she hurried to explain, "Mr. Lancaster, don't misunderstand. I just want you to show up at the company once, that's all. You don't need to do anything."

"That won't work either!"

A flash of disgust appeared in Atlas's eyes. "If it weren't for Helena's sake, I wouldn't even talk to a woman like you, let alone anything else. Don't even think about it. I belong to Helena, body and soul. Understand?"

"I... I..."

Serenity's eyes immediately reddened, tears welling up.

She quickly bowed her head. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's my fault."

The way this played out, it was as if Atlas and I were bullying her.

"Since you know you were wrong, don't make this kind of mistake again."

After Atlas finished speaking, he said lazily to York, "Take Serenity downstairs."

York glanced at him, then turned to look at me. Seeing me nod, he extended his hand. "Serenity, this way please."

With reddened eyes, Serenity walked out without a word.

After she left, I shook my head. John's two daughters were really one more troublesome than the other.

If Serenity made the same mistakes as Natasha, I wondered if John could handle it.

It would be fine if he couldn't—that way I wouldn't have to take action myself.

"Now that the extra person is gone, when are you going to pay attention to me?"

A resentful voice came from beside me. I turned around to find Atlas looking at me with displeasure.

"What's wrong? Didn't I refuse to lend you to Serenity?"

"What do you mean? Were you actually thinking of lending me out?"

Seeing Atlas gritting his teeth, I quickly put on an apologetic smile. "No, even if I wanted to, you wouldn't agree to it."

"Fine, Helena, I'm speechless."

Seeing Atlas turn to leave in anger, I quickly grabbed his arm. "Are you really angry?"

"I'm angry at myself. I shouldn't have just gone along with what you wanted. I should have won you over sooner!"

Atlas said with mock indignation, "Helena, just you wait. I'm going to give you a grand confession ceremony and make you my girlfriend officially!"
