Chapter 88 Too Late

Chapter 88 Too Late
When Alpha Gideon arrived at the bungalow house, he went straight to Mira’s room. The expression on his face was pure pain and sorrow.
The couple hugged each other. They knew each other's pain so well because he just lost his beloved wife and Mira lost his original body. They both lost something important to each other.
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” she said gloomily, rubbing his back, trying to tell him that she understood his pain very well.
“It happened so fast, I’m still reeling from the shock. Yesterday in the hospital was our last time together,” he said sadly, on the verge of tears.
Mira looked deeply into his eyes. “What is the cause of her death?” she asked, fishing for information.
“I really don’t know. After she complained about her strange illness and passed out in our room, I acted quickly and took her to the hospital. All her tests came negative. That’s why I was confused why she died suddenly,” he explained in a dispirited tone, blaming himself for not paying more attention to his ailing wife. “I blame myself for her death." He finally admitted his guilt.
"No, please don’t say that. Don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault at all,” she said, trying to stop him from blaming himself because she knew the truth about why Luna Rosie died.
“I’ve been neglecting her lately. I wish I could do better. I wasn't even by her side when she died. She died alone with no one to help her. As her husband I failed her!” he said angrily, furious with himself.
Mira heaved a sigh. “Please stop blaming yourself. There are so many things in this world that are out of our control and death is one of them. So please stop blaming yourself.”
“OK,” he finally agreed. He realized that this was not the right time to become emotional because they had a burial to attend to.
“Have you heard of death while sleeping? Some people die in their sleep. Causes may vary such as heart issues, strokes, or sleep apnea. Low oxygen levels to the brain and so on…” she elaborated further, trying to divert his attention because she wanted him to stop blaming himself for his wife’s death.
“That might be the cause. But let’s not talk about that issue anymore. Rosie is already dead. There is nothing I can do to bring her back to life,” he said in a wretched tone.
“Alright, let’s go to the mansion now. I want to pay my respects to your wife and to my body for the last time,” Mira said, moving towards the door.
“OK, let’s go,” he said calmly.
The couple left the bungalow house and proceeded to the mansion.
When they arrived there, no one was in the living room. The coffin was surrounded by white and pink flowers and Mira Suarez's name was plastered on the coffin.
“I want to move closer to the coffin and see my body for the last time,” Mira said, caressing her protruding belly.
“OK. Go ahead,” he said, lowering himself to the sofa.
Mira and Lena approached the coffin and looked at the lifeless body lying inside the casket.
“It's hard to believe she's already gone,” Lena said gloomily, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Me too. But that is the reality of our lives here on earth. We can be here today but gone tomorrow. That is why we should treasure every moment of our lives. We should not do bad things to other people because Karma will surely punish us when we least expect it,” Mira murmured softly, staring at her very own face.
After a few minutes of paying respect to her former mistress, Lena left Mira’s side and settled on the sofa.
Mira was left alone, standing beside the coffin, staring at her face, teary-eyed. Her face looked serene flawless without scars. Too bad she wasn't able to enjoy looking at her face for a long time because Luna Rosie chose the bad side.
She touched the glass casket and whispered, “I didn't expect that you would die too soon. I didn’t tell your husband the truth because I wanted you to change your evil ways. I was hoping you and I could mend our differences and we could be friends down the road. Unfortunately, you attempted to end my life, but it backfired and you died because of it,” she paused for a minute, trying to stop tears from falling down her face.
“Don’t worry, I will take care of your husband and your unborn child growing in my belly. Rest assured I will also take care of your body. Rest in peace,” she said softly, staring at the pink and white roses adorning the coffin.
Luna Rosie saw it all. She heard every word Mira said, and she could hear her clearly. She could also see her face and her expression. Too bad she was already dead, lying in a coffin, unable to move.
She looked up at her own face, very much alive. Sadly, she only realized now that if she didn't make an attempt to kill Mira, she would still be alive right now.
It was her anger, jealousy and an evil plan to kill Mira that brought an abrupt end to her life. Mira was protected by a powerful entity and because she crossed the line, she had to die.
If only she could turn back time, she would accept her fate, embrace her new identity, marry her husband the second time and create a beautiful family with him.
But her evil corrupted mind pushed her to become a murderer.
The reason why Mira won in the end is because she was not a bad person.
If given another chance she would change the ending of her life by preventing herself from killing Mira. Sigh. She wasted her second chance at life. There is no third chance anymore.
Maybe if she prays hard to the Moon Goddess and asked forgiveness for cursing her, maybe she would be given a third chance at life?
Is it possible? She really wanted to repent and be given another chance at life.
She released a deep sigh.
No, it’s too late now. She can no longer undo what she has done to Mira.
It seems Karma has finally caught up with her and she has paid the ultimate price, her death.
“Alright, Moon Goddess bring it on. I’m ready to die and perish into oblivion. But if you want to hear my deepest wishes before I finally leave this world, I wish to be given a third chance at life. I wish I could be reborn again and come back to my life and be with my husband again in this lifetime. That’s all I want from the bottom of my heart,” Luna Rosie begged desperately with all her heart.
Mira shed a tear while looking at her lifeless body lying inside the coffin. She couldn't help it. A part of her died today along with Luna Rosie. Maybe because their lives were intertwined due to the soul swap.
“I’m sorry, Mira, for every bad thing I have done to you while I’m still alive. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. Thank you for taking care of my body, my husband and my unborn child. I wish you happiness with my husband. Please take care of him. I love him so much,” Luna Rosie said solemnly.
She just realized now how stupid she was for trying to kill Mira. If only she knew in advance that she would end up like this, she should not have carried out her murder intention, but now the Moon Goddess is punishing her for her evil deeds.
She deserves to be punished and this time she is willing to rot in hell for hurting Mira and turning herself into a merciless murderer. The only good thing that she was proud of herself is that despite everything, she had never killed anyone and she was willing to pay a heavy price in the afterlife.
She is okay now, no more hatred and jealousy in her heart. She is ready to leave the world and face the consequences of her actions in the netherworld.
If she continues to rot in hell to atone for her sins, so be it.
After completely accepting her fate and apologizing for her mistake, Luna Rosie finally closed her eyes and was ready to embrace the netherworld.
Her soul finally left her body and was sucked into the vacuum of the endless abyss of darkness, floating in the void of nothingness, ready to be reborn again in another body.
The endless cycle of reincarnation was like a roulette. You will never know what body you will end up with when you wake up after death. You could be starting as a baby with recollection of your past life. Or you could end up reborn in another dying person's body to continue that person’s life and carve a new beginning for yourself.
And there are also souls that were not given a chance of reincarnation because they don’t desire to be reborn again. These souls feel contented drifting in the endless stretch of paradise in heaven, situated at the edge of the universe, the final resting place for souls who already achieved contentment in life.
It’s how you use your life after you are reborn that really matters because you are given one shot and not everyone can be given a second and third chance to live their life over and over again and correct past mistakes.
But Luna Rosie’s soul is different and unique. She is truly lucky.
Although in her previous life she was an evil scheming and vindictive woman, she was chosen to be given a third chance at life.
Luna Rosie’s soul is destined to be reborn again in another body…
