Chapter 74 Give Her A Chance

Chapter 74 Give Her A Chance
One week later.
It was a gloomy day when Luna Rosie finally decided to go to the bungalow house. She brought an umbrella with her just in case rain would fall.
She boarded the E-buggy and arrived at the bungalow house. When she got off the vehicle she didn't see Mira and Lena outside the house.
Where are they?
She proceeded to the verandah and was about to knock on the door, but Mira saw her first and opened the door.
“W-why are you here?” Mira asked nervously. “If you are here to cause trouble I‘m sorry I can’t talk to you,” she said directly in her face.
Lena was standing behind Mira, she was shaking in fear.
Luna Rosie sighed and lowered herself to the chair, putting down her umbrella on the center table. “I’m here to check on you, girls. Don’t be scared, I’m not here to hurt you,” she said calmly.
Mira eyed her visitor suspiciously, surprised by her calm demeanor. “Really? Are you sure you are not here to cause trouble?” she asked, eyes wide in disbelief.
"Yeah believe it or not, that’s the truth,” Luna Rosie replied. “Aren’t you going to invite me inside the house? The driver looks at us. Maybe he was interested in hearing what we were talking about? You don't want him to know our secret? You don't want him to know you are the fake one, right?” she said in a low voice.
Here we are again.
Mira sighed heavily. She was debating whether she would allow Luna Rosie entry to the house or not at all?
Does Luna Rosie look dangerous today or not?
She continues studying Luna Rosie’s face closely.
“Why are you still hesitating? You really think I will hurt you and yank your hair? You are wrong if that is what you are thinking right now. I don’t have the energy to hurt you because my face was covered with bandages and I’m still experiencing pain right now. I can’t exert that much effort,” Luna Rosie said convincingly. “Trust me, I’m not here to pick a fight with you.”
Mira sighed and opened the door wide, giving entry to her savage visitor.
Luna Rosie entered the house and Mira closed the door to prevent the driver from seeing them and hearing what they were talking about.
Lena quickly retreated to the corner, her body tensed and rigid.
Luna Rosie noticed the apprehensive look on Lena’s face. “Lena, could you give me a glass of water? I’m thirsty,” she ordered in a gentle tone.
“Copy, Luna,” Lena replied and rushed to the kitchen to get water.
Mira sat on the sofa anxiously, facing her visitor.
“You want to see my face with bandages and all?” Luna Rosie asked Mira. “I’m sure you are naturally curious because this is your body after all,” she added.
Mira nodded her head. “Yes please."
“OK.” Luna Rosie removed the veil covering her entire face.
Mira inhaled sharply because Luna Rosie’s face looked like a mummy covered in layers of bandages.
Luna Rosie said, “So, what can you say?”
“Is it painful?” Mira asked.
“Yeah, especially in the days after surgery, but I was given pain relievers so it doesn't hurt that much. Don't worry, I’m a strong woman. I can handle the pain well." Luna Rosie responded with a smile.
“Glad to hear that,” Mira murmured. She would still be in her body right now if she hadn't died. She was curious how she would look without the scars on her face.
Luna Rosie’s gaze landed on Mira’s baby bump. “Your stomach is getting bigger and my baby is growing healthy in your tummy. How’s my son? Isn't he still naughty, playfully kicking your tummy? Can you still feel his tiny kick?” She asked sadly. She was just a mother battered by the sadness of being separated from her unborn child. Tears of longing and agony shimmer in her eyes.
Mira saw raw pain and tears in Luna Rosie’s eyes. She suddenly felt sorry for her. It must be very hard for a mother to be separated from her baby. She placed her hand on her baby bump and said, “Yeah. He still kicks hard sometimes."
“Good. Do you still drink your vitamins and milk?” Luna Rosie inquired.
“Yes,” Mira responded with a smile.
“Good. You must take care of my body and my baby…and I will also take care of your body,” Luna Rosie said in a depressed tone.
“I will," Mira assured her.
Lena returned with a glass of water and placed it in front of Luna Rosie. Then she moved far away afraid that her former mistress would throw water at her face out of spite.
But Luna Rosie calmly drank the water and put the empty glass back on the center table. She looked at Lena and noticed discomfort and anxiety on her face. “Lena, relax. I’m not here to hurt you. I just want to see if you guys are living well here. That’s all. I’m not here to pick up a fight, okay? So chillax,” she said calmly.
“OK.” But Lena was not convinced yet. She can’t let her guard down. She was still suspicious of Luna’s Rosie’s true intention in coming to the bungalow house.
Luna Rosie don't want to stay long in the bungalow house. She felt sleepy and dizzy all of a sudden. She stands up and looks at Mira. “I’m leaving. I’m heading back to the mansion. Take care of my baby. Take care of yourselves, girls. Bye,” she said and moved towards the door and left the house in a hurry.
Mira and Lena rushed outside and watched Luna Rosie board the E-buggy, waving her hand at them.
The electric car moved away from the bungalow house until it completely disappeared from view.
“Wow, I can’t believe she just left like that without giving us a slap,” Lena gushed in shock and disbelief.
Mira breathed in relief. “It’s good that she didn't come here to pick up a fight. We can rest easy now. Maybe she just came here to see the condition of my pregnancy and also to show me the bandages on her face. I think all is well,” she said, feeling relieved that everything went well with her first encounter with Luna Rosie after surgery.
“Luna Rosie looks friendly though. I couldn't see any malicious intent in her eyes. She looked harmless," Mira added.
Lena released a nervous laugh. “Are you kidding me? Luna Rosie is not like that. I know her true temperament better than you.”
“But she didn't attempt to hurt us. Maybe she is changing for the better?” Mira muses.
Lena sighed. “Hopefully so. Anyway, I’ll go to the kitchen and prepare dinner.”
“I’ll help you,” Mira said and followed Lena to the kitchen.
The women were chatting merrily while chopping vegetables and meat to create a delicious dish.
Meanwhile...
Upon arriving at the mansion, Luna Rosie entered the house and climbed up the stairs in a hurry. She managed to reach her room, ran to the bed and lay down. She suddenly felt so tired. Every muscle in her body felt so weak. She can barely walk properly. Good thing she reached her room without collapsing on the floor.
What’s going on?
She didn't try fighting the sleepiness anymore, she succumbed to it, shutting her eyes. A few minutes later, she fell asleep soundly.
After one hour of deep sleep, she woke up feeling refreshed and energetic. Then she recalled everything that happened before she fell asleep.
What happened?
Ah, she remembered the pain killer she took before heading to the bungalow house. It has a side effect which is drowsiness. She should not take one if she is going out of the house. She might encounter an accident outside.
Then she remembered their faces when she saw them. Mira and Lena were scared like rabbits, afraid of the sight of her standing outside their nice little cozy home, invading their privacy.
But she did not strike them or say anything disrespectful to them. She already knew how to control her temper.
She must make them believe that her intentions are honest and pure. She will be friendly towards them until they lower their guards and strike them when they least expect it. She already has several plans in mind, and erasing her bad image from their minds was one of them.
It will be so easy to deceive them if she can lay her trap carefully and wisely.
She can easily dispose of Mira after she gives birth to her baby and after she is legally married to her husband.
If the shaman can’t be found, she has no choice. She is ready to sacrifice her body as long as she can get rid of Mira.
A bright smile formed on her lips.
In her mind, she could already taste her victory. As long as she played her part well, she could achieve everything she wished for even if destiny stood in her way.
She will win for sure against her enemy.
Feeling happy, she rose from the bed, took out some chocolate from the mini fridge and began eating her comfort foods.
Two hours later.
Back in the bungalow house, the women can be seen arranging dishes palatably on the table.
Alpha Gideon texted Mira that he was coming over to have dinner with her in two hours.
After fixing her appearance in the mirror, Mira waited excitedly for her husband to arrive home on the verandah. She looked at the still water on the lake, waiting for the sound of his vehicle approaching the property.
A few minutes later he finally arrived and parked his car in the driveway outside the bungalow house.
Mira stood up, wearing a bright smile on her face.
No words needed, their eyes communicated in silence.
Alpha Gideon planted a kiss on her head and they entered the house together, holding hands. He really feels at home with her.
“Let’s eat, babe,” Alpha Gideon told Mira.
“Alrighty,” Mira replied sweetly and picked up her utensils and began eating.
After they finish eating, they retire to the bedroom and cuddle on the bed in comfortable silence.
Mira decided to inform him of Luna Rosie’s sudden visit to the bungalow house. "She was here a few hours ago,” she said.
He raised a brow. “Who?”
“Your wife, Luna Rosie,” she replied, observing his reaction.
“What?” He suddenly tense. “What did she do here? Did she start a fight with you? Did she hurt you or Lena?” he asked worriedly, looking for bruises on her cheeks and arms. Thankful he didn’t see any bruises on her skin.
She shakes her head. “No. She didn't hurt me or Lena. She came here to visit and check on us. She talked calmly and never raised her voice. She actually looks friendly towards me,” she elaborated further.
“Really?” he asked in disbelief.
“Yeah, she came here in peace, talking to us calmly. I didn't detect aggression in her voice, or in her eyes. She didn't stay long though, she left right away,” Mira explained.
“Good.” He caressed her arms, wondering what Rosie was trying to do. What was she planning in her mind? Why did she come to the bungalow house when he had already warned her not to come? Is she openly disobeying his orders?
“I will definitely ask Rosie why she came here. She shouldn't show her face here and make you feel threatened by her presence. I don’t want her planning something dangerous behind your back,” he said grimly.
“You don’t have to do that,” she protested.
“Babe, I will assign two guards to guard this place from Rosie’s intrusion,” he insisted in a serious tone.
“No need to do that, babe. Please listen to me for a second. I think Luna Rosie is not planning anything bad against me. I think she was just trying to make up for her bad attitude in the past. She acted friendly towards me. Let’s give her a chance, shall we?” Mira pleaded on Luna Rosie’s behalf. She doesn’t want Alpha Gideon to confront his wife about her true intentions in visiting the bungalow house. She doesn't want trouble to arise again, destroying her peace of mind.
“Are you sure? You don’t want me to ask her about it?” He says, studying her face.
“Yes. Maybe Luna Rosie is slowly warming up to me being part of your life. Let’s just give her a chance.” Mira openly expressed her good intentions towards Luna Rosie.
“OK. I respect your decision, but the moment she starts harassing you again I will assign two guards here to protect you and Lena,” he adamantly said.
She finally nodded her head in agreement. “Alright, I will let you know if she starts acting deranged again. But I think she will not visit this place for a long time.”
“Hopefully so,” Alpha Gideon said, kissing her cheek tenderly.
The couple chatted about their activities of the day, then after one hour, he took his leave.
Alpha Gideon returned to the mansion and when he arrived in the bedroom, he didn't ask his wife why she went to the bungalow house. He pretended he didn't know to honor Mira’s request.
They slept beside each other on the bed that night, not talking much. His wife went to sleep early.
He slept beside his wife, but it was Mira he was thinking about in his mind.
A few moments later, he finally drifted into a deep slumber.
He didn't see the brown snake, Brownie.
The snake was on top of the headboard, looking down at the sleeping couple below.
Brownie was specifically looking at Luna Rosie. His forked tongue was visible, producing scary hissing sounds.
