Chapter 66 See You Tonight
The following day, Alpha Gideon woke up to a beautiful sunny day. The sun finally showed up after the heavy rain yesterday.
He got up from the bed and went downstairs to the dining room to have breakfast because he will be going to the hospital early today to see his wife before her surgery starts.
Meanwhile…
In Mira’s room. She suddenly felt lethargic. She doesn't want to get up yet, she just wants to continue lying on the bed and replay in her mind the steamy encounter she had with Alpha Gideon.
She glanced at the window. The sun was already up in the sky.
Her pet Brownie cuddled up with her on the bed.
When she glanced at the sofa bed, Lena was no longer there. She probably woke up early and went to the kitchen to prepare her food.
She got up from the bed to take care of the call of nature. When she emerged from the bathroom door a few moments later, Lena was already back in the room, putting the tray on the table. “I brought breakfast. Toasted bread, waffles, sunny side up egg and hot chocolate milk.”
“Yummy!” Mira smiled, clapping her hands in glee. Delicious food always brings a smile to her face. “Thank you Lena,” she said gratefully, lowering herself into the chair.
“Don’t mention it.” Lena sat on the sofa browsing her phone.
Mira glanced at her. “Did Luna Rosie ask you for reports about me yesterday?” she asked.
Lena nodded her head. “Yup. I texted her saying that her husband hadn't come to the room to see you. She also told me that her scar surgery would start at 8:00 in the morning today.”
“Great!” Mira smiled. She picked up the utensils and began eating her delicious food.
After eating, Mira’s gloomy mood improved.
She stood up, turned on the TV to watch random videos while sipping her hot chocolate milk.
Lena put everything back in the tray and left the room.
Mira went to the bed and sat down. Her pet snake slithered into her lap and lay down on her lap. She smiled and gently patted its head. “How are you today, Brownie? Did you have a good night's sleep last night?” she asked.
The snake nodded its head.
Mira smiled and continued watching the interesting documentary about a fallen famous rockstar whose life was destroyed by drug addiction, endless parties and bad life choices.
She was deeply immersed in the heartbreaking story of his life. He was full of life in his younger years. A famous rock-and-roll legend bathed in fame and glory, enjoying wealth throughout his adult life. When fame faded, his life spiraled out of control over the years. In the end he was abandoned by people who took advantage of his kindness and generosity when he still had everything. He got cancer and eventually died alone in his house, with loneliness and regret as his company during the darkest moments of his life. Forgotten by friends and family alike.
What a sad and tragic life he left behind.
Her heart was grieving for him. She can relate to his loneliness. She doesn't want to die alone anymore and no one loves her.
There were tears in her eyes after she finished watching the documentary.
When Lena returned to the room she saw tears glistening in Mira's eyes. “Why are you crying again?” she asked in puzzlement.
Mira smiled. “It’s nothing. I just finished watching the documentary about a fallen rockstar. He lived a roller coaster life and died alone in his room abandoned and forgotten by everyone else. I feel so saddened by his tragic ending,” she explained.
Lena sighed, shaking her head. “Girl, you are so emotional.”
Mira turned off the TV and said, “I want to go to the garden for morning exercise.”
“OK. Let’s go,” Lena replied.
The women left the room.
When they descended the staircase, they saw Alpha Gideon sitting on the sofa in the living room. He was talking to someone on his phone.
He glanced at the staircase and met Mira’s gaze for a few seconds. He nods at her.
He broke eye contact and continued talking to whoever it was at the end of the line.
Mira and Lena bowed their heads in greeting and walked past him on the sofa. They continued on their way to the garden.
While they were walking on the path leading to the garden, Lena spoke, "I think Alpha Gideon is going to the hospital to be with his wife because the surgery will happen today.”
“Yeah, I think so,” Mira agreed. She thought the same.
They arrived at the garden and began their stroll, admiring the plants and flowers blooming everywhere.
Meanwhile, back in the mansion.
Alpha Gideon exited the house, got into his car in the driveway and sped his way to the hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital, his wife was getting ready for her surgery.
“My love, I am sorry I came a bit late. I encountered some heavy traffic on my way here,” he said apologizing.
Luna Rosie smiled brightly, happy to see him. “No need to apologize. What's important for me is that you are finally here to be with me."
He planted a gentle kiss on her forehead and asked, “Have you eaten your breakfast?”
“Done already,” she replied.
“Good,” he murmured. “What time does your surgery start?” he asked.
“I’m heading to the surgery room now. I’m just waiting for you,” she said.
“Are you nervous?” He asked, holding her hand.
“A little bit, but I’m good,” she replied. “I love you,” she told him teary-eyed.
He hugged her and whispered, “I love you too.”
After a few minutes of talking they finally left the room and went to the surgery room. Dr. Smith was already waiting outside the room.
After exchanging some pleasantries with the surgeon, Alpha Gideon watched as Dr. Smith led his wife into the surgery room.
Twenty minutes after his wife entered the surgery room, Alpha Gideon left the hospital and went home.
When he arrived at the mansion, he climbed the stairs, heading for Mira’s room. When he arrived there, the room was empty.
Where are they?
They are probably in the garden for Mira's morning exercise. He left the room and went to the garden.
When he arrived there, he saw Mira relaxing on the sofa in the gazebo.
He walked to the gazebo in big strides.
Mira’s eyes widened in surprise upon seeing him in the garden. She quickly bowed her head when he finally reached her side. “Greetings, Alpha.”
He nodded his head and said, “Where is Lena?” He asked, looking around the garden.
“She went to the kitchen to get some drinks. I’m thirsty. She might be back anytime soon,” she responded nervously.
He sat on the sofa, facing her. "How was your sleep last night?” he asked.
She smiled and replied, “I slept well. How about you?”
“I slept well too,” he responded, not taking his eyes off her beautiful face.
“Um, I thought you didn't want to see me again. Why are you here?” she asked curiously.
“Ah, I want to ask you this question. Do you want to live in the bungalow house near the lake? It's far from the mansion. Far from me,” he asked, observing her face closely.
Mira takes a deep breath. She really likes living in a bungalow house. She met his gaze. “I want to continue living here in the mansion because I’m closer to you. But since you don’t want to see me anymore, I would rather live in a bungalow house far from you and your wife. If it is the only way the three of us can have peace of mind, I’m willing to live in that place. As long as Lena will accompany me there I can relocate to that place anytime you want,” she responded cheerily, trying not to sound disappointed.
“Good. I will let you know when you relocate there, probably within two days,” he said. “I still have to go there and inspect the whole place if it's safe for you and our baby to stay there.”
“OK. Thanks for your concern,” she said, avoiding his gaze. Out of the corner of her eyes she saw Lena standing like a statue near the swing, holding a tray filled with snacks. She was probably hesitating to proceed to the gazebo after seeing who she was talking to.
Alpha Gideon stood up. “Alright, I’m done talking to you about your new home. See you tonight,” he said casually.
Mira’s forehead furrowed. “Huh? You are going to see me again tonight?” she asked, frowning deeply. “But Lena is sleeping in my room upon your wife’s order to spy on us," she added anxiously.
“I will take care of Lena,” he said with a wink and left the gazebo.
She watched in shock as Alpha Gideon walked straight in Lena’s direction. He said something to Lena, and the latter nodded her head in understanding. Afterward, he walked back to the house as if nothing had happened.
Lena entered the gazebo and put the tray down on the table.
“What did he tell you?” Mira asked curiously.
Lena wore a troubled expression on her face. She released a deep sigh and said, “He told me not to say anything to Luna Rosie. He said I should keep my mouth shut and not report bad news to his wife that may irritate her, especially that she is undergoing surgery. She can’t receive unpleasant news that might trigger her anger.”
“Agree.” Mira breathed deeply. “Um…what will you do now that you see me and Alpha Gideon talking to each other? Will you report us to Luna Rosie?” she asked, observing Lena’s face closely.
