Chapter 49 Are You Crazy?

Chapter 49 Are You Crazy?
Without further ado Mira dumped the snake on Luna Rosie’s lap.
“What are you doing?” Luna Rosie snapped at Mira, annoyed.
Startled, the snake slithered away from Luna Rosie’s body and retreated to its hiding place among the green plants.
Mira smiled and asked, “You still didn't see it? You didn't feel it at all?”
Luna Rosie glared at Mira. “What the hell are you talking about? I didn't see anything. Are you going crazy?” she asked, clenching her teeth in anger.
Mira was shaking her head in absolute astonishment. Wow, she still didn't see and feel the snake that landed on her lap.
“Stop disturbing me! I have no time for silly games. Do it again and I will slap your face hard!” Luna Rosie warned her.
Mira sighed. “I’m sorry I disturbed you,” she apologized. It’s now confirmed that the snake is invisible. Only she can see it. She looked at the teal plant nearby. She saw the snake going there after she played a frank at Luna Rosie.
Hmm, should she be afraid of the snake now?
It’s clear that the snake is not an ordinary snake. But why did it have to befriend her? What is her connection to the snake? Should she continue petting if it shows itself to her again?
Will the snake bring harm to her one day? Would it bite her?
She fell into deep thoughts.
‘Nah, it won’t bite me because the snake is friendly towards me,’ she thought to herself after a few minutes of musing.
Mira shifted her attention to the flowers near the fountain and saw the swing. She stood up. “I will go to the swing,” she said and left the gazebo.
Luna Rosie ignored Mira. She was busy scrolling her phone.
Mira reached for the swing and settled on it comfortably. She enjoyed the gentle breeze blowing her hair away from her face, caressing her skin gloriously.
Her eyes landed on the teal plant in direct view of her eyes. Then she saw it again. The leaves had shaken. She smiled when the brown snake left its hiding place and slithered towards the swing. It climbed the tree, landed on the rope and finally settled on Mira’s lap.
Mira smiled in amusement. She fondly thought the snake was still a baby, missing its mother’s warmth. Maybe the snake thought she could be its mother. She giggled, laughing softly. She stayed on the swing while the snake snuggled comfortably on her lap.
After she got tired of the swing, she settled on one of the concrete benches scattered around the garden. The snake was sleeping luxuriously in her lap when she saw Luna Rosie approaching her location.
“What are you doing?” Luna Rosie asked, seeing Mira’s hand moving back and forth on her lap.
Mira stopped caressing the snake and it went away, heading back to its hiding place among the plants. She replied, “Nothing. Just don’t mind me.”
Luna Rosie’s forehead puckered. “Why have you been acting strange lately?”
Mira laughed. “It’s all in your minds. I’m just doing some exercise with my hands.”
“Whatever!” Luna Rosie rolled her eyes. “I’m going to see my husband and check on him. I will also check the construction of the door. Will you be okay here alone?”
Mira nodded her head. “I’m fine. I’m used to being alone, all by myself. Go now and do your thing. Don’t worry I’ll still be here when you return.”
Luna Rosie left the garden and headed back to the mansion. She climbed the stairs and went straight to her room. She saw two men attach the new door to the frame. ‘Great!’ she muttered to herself, very much pleased at the fast results. After the door was put in place, she no longer had to deal with Mira anymore. She hated seeing the maid sleeping on her bed. Finally, she and Mira no longer have to share a bed and a room anymore. Fantastic!
She left the room and made her way downstairs, heading to the recuperating room to see her husband.
When she arrived there, he was watching a wrestling match on TV. She approached the bed.
Alpha Gideon paused the TV and looked at her. “How’s the construction going?” he asked.
“My love, it’s almost done. I just went there a few minutes ago. The men are now in the process of attaching the connecting door. After one hour they will be finished with their job,” she said reassuringly.
“Good,” he said with a smile and continued watching the show.
Luna Rosie watched the wrestling show with him, sitting in the chair beside the bed.
“How is she?” he asked out of the blue.
Luna Rosie’s eyes flew to his face. “Who?”
“Mira…where is she?” Alpha Gideon replied without looking at his wife's face.
Luna Rosie groaned in annoyance. “Why are you asking about her?” she asked. A sigh of irritation escaped her lips.
He took a deep breath after detecting her jealousy. “Because she is pregnant with our baby. Naturally I will ask about her from time to time. Why? Can’t I even mention her name? Can’t I even ask how she was doing without you being jealous of her?”
Luna Rosie bit her lip. He had never talked to her this way before. He was always sweet and romantic towards her. But now he seemed to question everything she said. “I’m your wife. You shouldn't ask and mention another woman’s name in front of me. It hurts me deeply,” she said, her voice thick with anger and jealousy. She wanted him to know early on that giving attention to Mira would only result in more arguments later on.
Alpha Gideon shrugged. “Don’t be silly, my love. I’m not asking about her just to make you jealous. I mean no harm by my harmless question. I’m just asking for our baby’s sake,” he explained gently. “You have nothing to be jealous about because although Mira got your body she will always be a maid in my eyes. It sucks that this soul swap happened between you and her. We shouldn't let this unfortunate incident destroy us from the inside,” he said with a gloomy sigh.
Luna Rosie stood up wearily. “It would be so much better if you stopped asking me about her because that would trigger my bad mood, awakening the jealousy in my heart. If you still love me, avoid mentioning her name and don’t talk to her. Once I catch you talking to her, expect my wrath. That's all!” she said, her eyes flashing with fury.
Alpha Gideon groaned, not in the mood to argue with his jealousy-freak wife. “Go now. Just leave the room and find something to do outside. Don’t disturb me, I like watching my favorite TV show in peace.”
Luna Rosie was hurt that he was kicking her out of the room. Is the wrestling show more important than her? She was livid with anger. She wanted to yell angrily in his face but she better not. “Fine. What do you want to eat for dinner?”
“Anything,” he replied without looking at her, giving her a cold shoulder.
Luna Rosie gritted her teeth, enraged that her husband was no longer paying her attention. She walked away from the bed, fuming in anger. She left the room, went to the kitchen and instructed the cook to prepare delicious beef steak and chicken soup for her husband and his pregnant wife.
After leaving the kitchen, she wanted to return to her room to sulk but the construction was not finished yet. She left the kitchen and went back to the garden to vent her frustration.
When she entered the gazebo, Mira was sleeping on the sofa in a comfortable position.
She was still furious about her husband. She wanted to grab Mira’s hair and inflict harm on her, but the moment her eyes land on her baby bump she can’t bring herself to harm her anymore.
Ugh, she needs to destroy something!
She left the gazebo and saw a small pot there. She approached it and kicked it hard several times, venting her anger at the innocent pot. She only stopped kicking the pot after her feet were already hurting.
She looked heavenward, cursing the Moon Goddess or whoever it is that orchestrated the soul swap.
“Dammit, who are you? Why are you doing this to me? Give me back my body!” she howled in a wretched tone. Her heart was bleeding with anguish and sorrow.
“I want my body back!” She repeatedly said, crying hard in anguish and despair.
Luna Rosie returned to the gazebo and stared at Mira again. Her eyes flashed with hatred. Her hands were itching to strangle the sleeping woman.
Mira suddenly opened her eyes and saw Luna Rosie standing in front of her, looking like an angry dragon, her eyes spitting fire. She quickly stood up and said, “Are you okay?” she asked worriedly.
Luna Rosie blinked several times, breathing heavily, controlling her anger. “None of your business! I’m in a bad mood now. Don’t talk to me!” She snapped and lowered herself into the chair, shifting her attention to the bloody red roses nearby.
Mira sighed. Luna Rosie’s mood is always unpredictable, an effect of the soul swap. In order to avoid becoming the receiver of her wrath, she quickly dashed out of the gazebo and went to the swing to spend her time there.
She was enjoying her time on the swing when she noticed the brown snake approaching her location. She stopped the swing and allowed the snake to climb onto her lap. She giggled in amusement. “Whoa, am I your favorite person now?” she asked, caressing the snake’s shiny skin.
The snake rested its head on her lap and curled into a nap.
“I will give you a name. I will call you Brownie from now on,” she said, smiling brightly.
The snake nodded its head as if it understood what Mira had said, then it went back to sleep.
Surprisingly, having a pet snake improved Mira’s mood and made her feel good. She wondered why.
“Where did you come from, little snake? Are you an alien? A ghost, a demon, or a divine pet?” she asked.
