Chapter 43 Negotiation

Chapter 43 Negotiation
Alpha Gideon groaned in annoyance. “If you want me to support your plan for Mira, then bring her to me now,” he said in a firm tone.
“OK, fine!” Luna Rosie’s mouth twitched in displeasure. She walked away from the bed and left the room, heading for the second floor.
She climbed the stairs fuming in anger. Why is her husband going against her? So annoying!
When she reached her room, Mira was lying on the bed, wide awake and staring at the ceiling, looking sad and problematic.
Mira looked at her. “How’s it going?” she asked casually, noticing the scowl on her face.
Luna Rosie sneered. "I have already told my husband everything. He wants to see you. Get up from the bed and come with me!” she ordered.
“Did he believe you?” Mira asked, getting out of the bed.
“Of course he did. I’m his real wife and you are the fake one. Don’t forget that!” Luna Rosie said irritably, moving to the door.
Mira followed Luna Rosie to the door. They exited the room and walked into the hallway, heading for the stairs.
While they descended onto the staircase, Mira’s stomach was in knots.
Luna Rosie was wearing a grim expression on her face. Her silence is deafening.
Mira wondered what happened to the couple after her confession. “I’m going to live in the bungalow house starting tomorrow?” she asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence between them.
“Yes. Since Lena is not back yet I will assign another maid to accompany you to the bungalow house,” answered Luna Rosie.
“OK. No problem,” Mira said. “Um, I don't want to offend you but I just wanted to ask this. What if the staff starts asking why I live in the bungalow house alone without my husband? And why are you staying in the room with your husband? How are you going to explain our unusual situation to everyone?” she asked curiously.
Luna Rosie snapped. “Shut up! None of your business!”
Mira shrugged, rolling her eyes. “OK, fine.”
They finally reached the ground and entered the recuperating room.
“Mira is here,” Luna Rosie told her husband wearily.
Alpha Gideon looked at Mira.
Mira bows her head, refusing to meet his gaze.
“You may leave us,” Alpha Gideon told his wife.
Luna Rosie’s brows snapped together. “But why should I leave?”
“Because I said so,” he replied calmly.
Luna Rosie pouted in annoyance. “If you just want to talk to her, why do you want me to leave?” she asked suspiciously.
Mira finally looked at him, then at his wife. Why are the couple seems to be arguing? Not on good terms, eh? Did they quarrel over her?
“Just talk to her in front of me. I’m not going anywhere,” Luna Rosie said stubbornly.
Alpha Gideon sighed and ordered his wife, “Please go to the kitchen and make me a black coffee.”
Dang! He’s literally sending her away. Luna Rosie gritted her teeth in anger. “Fine. I’ll make you coffee.”
After Luna Rosie left the room, Mira met his gaze. “Alpha, what can I do for you?” she asked.
“Lock the door,” he ordered.
Mira’s forehead puckered. “Huh? Why?”
“I said lock the door. Stop asking questions,” he said, his eyes gleaming dangerously.
“OK.” Mira went to the door and locked it.
“Now come to the bed,” he ordered.
“Why Alpha?” Mira asked, confused.
“Come here," he repeated impatiently.
“OK.” Mira moved closer to the bed and said, "Here I am. What can I do for you Alpha?”
“Kiss me now like we used to do and perform a handjob on me,” he ordered, observing her reaction.
Mira’s eyes widened in shock, surprised by his command. “Huh? Kiss you? Handjob? You want me to kiss you? But your wife might get mad at me. No, I can't do that anymore. She will get jealous!” she said, shaking her head, not willing to obey his orders.
“If you don't kiss me, you can’t leave this room,” he threatened her.
Mira sighed inwardly. Why is he acting strangely all of a sudden? But she doesn't want to be in the same room as the feuding couple. She should do it now while Luna Rosie was away. She placed her hand on his crotch and hurriedly kissed his lips with no intention of staying longer in the room, but the moment their lips touched he deepened the kiss, not allowing her to stop.
She quickly found herself responding to his demanding kiss.
While their lips were locked in a lip duel, Alpha Gideon noticed his manhood sprang to life, fully aroused. This didn’t happen when he and his wife kissed each other earlier. What’s going on? He wants to continue kissing Mira because there is spark and passion in their kiss that was nonexistent earlier when he was kissing his wife. He wants more.
Damn, although his wife’s body was inhabited by the maid’s soul, his heart and cock didn’t see the difference.
This realization hit him like a ton of bricks.
Technically, he was still kissing his wife’s mouth and lips but the soul belonged to the maid. He didn't want to let go of Mira’s lips yet but he reluctantly ended their kiss. “Go now before my wife returns," he said softly.
“I’m so sorry Alpha for kissing you,” Mira apologized in shame, blushing hard.
“No need to apologize. It’s not your fault. I’m the one who ordered you to do it. Go now,” he repeated his order.
“OK.” Mira left the bed and exited the room in a hurry.
Outside the room…
Luna Rosie was waiting impatiently, holding the tray with a mug of dark coffee. “What took you so long inside?” she asked suspiciously.
“Your husband wants me to leave the room,” Mira replied.
Luna Rosie smiled triumphantly. “He didn't ask you a question? What are you talking about?” she asked, her eyes like a hawk.
“Um, he asked me if I'm comfortable staying in the bungalow house until I give birth to your unborn child. I answered yes,” Mira lied.
“Good answer, Mira. As long as you cooperate with me, everything will be alright between us,” Luna Rosie assured her.
“OK. I'm going back to the room and sleep,” Mira said and walked away, heading to the kitchen to grab something to eat before she will retire for the night.
Meanwhile…
Back in the recuperating room.
Alpha Gideon was calmly sipping his coffee assisted by his wife.
After he finished his coffee he looked at her and said, “No offense meant, but I want you to put your veil back on your face.”
His cold remark squeezed Luna Rosie's heart painfully. “But I’m your wife, why can’t you accept my ugly face? It’s not that I brought it to myself, it was given to me without my consent!” she argued, deeply hurt by his uncaring words.
Alpha Gideon groaned. “You are my wife, there’s no doubt about it, but every time I look at your face I see Mira the maid. It’s like seeing a stranger's face instead of my wife's face. Can you understand how I feel now? Please don’t be mad or upset about it. I’m just telling you how I truly feel about your current appearance,” he explained, hoping she would also consider his feelings.
Luna Rosie burst into tears, on the verge of a meltdown.
“I’m sorry, my love. The soul swap truly wrecked us this time. But worry not, we will find a way to undo the soul swap so you can get your life back,” he said reassuringly. “Come here, let me hug you. We will go through this trial together. OK?”
“OK.” Luna Rosie finally stopped crying, feeling relieved after hearing her husband’s assurance. She didn't lose her husband. He still loved her despite what had happened to her. She hugged him tightly, clinging to him as if she was about to be taken away by darkness.
The couple locked each other in a tight embrace, trying to hold on to their love story that hangs by a thread.
After the heartbreaking embrace, she looked into his eyes. “Promise me you will never give Mira your attention. If she seduces you with my body and charm, you must not give in to her seduction. OK?” she begged in a pleading tone.
“OK, I will never surrender to her charm,” Alpha Gideon assured her.
“I will be the one who deals with her needs. All you need to do is stay away from her. OK?” Luna Rosie begged.
“Ok, no problem,” he replied. Sounds so easy to say those words but the face of his fake beautiful wife and the steamy good times they shared together night after night, remained burning alive in his mind and heart.
His wife is right. He should stay away from Mira, the soul who took over his wife’s body.
He fell into deep thoughts. Announcing to everyone that a soul swap has happened between Mira and his wife may not be easily understood by staff. The soul swap was too bizarre to be understood by everyone. He needed to tell his family the truth tomorrow.
“My love, I need to talk to you about something important regarding our arrangement with Mira,” he said.
Luna Rosie raised a brow. “We already talked about it. Mira should stay in the bungalow house away from the mansion. That’s what I wanted and Mira already agreed to it. No need to change the arrangement," she said adamantly.
Alpha Gideon took a deep breath. “I think it’s not right to send Mira to live in the bungalow house away from me. The staff would wonder why my wife is staying in another house while I’m here in the mansion? Things may look weird in that kind of setup. Besides, Mira was carrying our unborn child in her tummy. I just can’t allow my child to be separated from us. I have another option that would not raise questions and gossip among the staff. Would you like to listen to my suggestion?”
"Okay, fine. Let me hear it,” Luna Rosie said glumly. Not liking sudden changes to her plans.
“Why don’t we put Mira in the bedroom next to our room? This way the changes are not that noticeable. We need to do it to protect our child that Mira was carrying in her tummy, making sure she is well taken care of. What do you think about my suggestion?” He asked for her opinion.
“No! I don’t like your suggestion!” Luna Rosie blurted angrily, her jealousy shooting into the roof. The only thing that separates his husband from Mira is a wall. The two might develop a relationship with each other because they will be seeing each other every day. That’s the kind of scenario that she desperately wants to avoid.
“But my love, listen to me,” Alpha Gideon said.
“No! My arrangement is better than yours!” she firmly said, leaving no room for negotiation.
