Chapter 26 What The Hell?

Chapter 26 What The Hell?
Fear and panic sink in. A knot formed in Luna Robecca’s chest. The fear of losing her son terrified her. She left the gazebo without saying a word, rushing back to the mansion to find her husband and tell him that their son was injured in the battle against the rebel rogues.
Mira lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes, trying to calm her jittery nerves.
Luna Rosie rushed inside the gazebo. “What happened to my husband?” she asked anxiously, her eyes flashing with worry.
“He was injured. But I don’t know if his injury is serious. I hope it’s not fatal,” Mira responded grimly.
“Dear Moon Goddess, please save my husband. I will die if something bad happens to him,” Luna Rosie said in a trembling voice. Tears glistened in her eyes as anxiety gripped her heart painfully.
Mira saw that the distraught woman was holding her phone hard. “Calm down, I think he is not badly injured because he was able to talk to me on the phone and inform me of his injury. If he was badly hurt he wouldn't be able to call me,” she said reassuringly.
Luna Rosie looked at her, eyes blazing with fury. “It’s all your fault! If you didn't come into our lives, all this bad luck wouldn't have happened to me and my husband. You brought bad luck to me and the royal family. I hate you!”
Here we go again! Mira groaned in dismay. She thought that if the world started to burn at this very minute, Luna Rosie would blame her for the disaster. She rolled her eyes. “Why are you blaming me? I’m not the enemy.”
“If something happens to my husband I will torch you alive!” Luna Rosie says resentfully.
Mira heaved a sigh. If she doesn't leave now, Luna Rosie will continue blaming her. She stood up. Good, she’s not dizzy anymore. “I will return to the room to rest. I’m feeling dizzy,” she said, walking to the entrance of the gazebo.
Fuming in anger, Luna Rosie follows Mira back to the mansion. Should she call her husband after they arrive in her room? She was desperate to hear more news from him about his condition. She couldn't just wait doing nothing. If she could only fly to her husband's side, she had already arrived at the camp where he was currently staying.
When they arrived in the bedroom, Mira quickly lay down on the bed, feeling relieved that she could finally lay down on the comfortable bed. If dizziness occurs again at least she is in a safe place now.
Luna Rosie began pacing back and forth in the middle of the room, looking at her cellphone every minute, waiting for her husband to call again.
Mira sighed heavily after noticing the worried expression on Luna Rosie’s face. At least the mean girl was not talking anymore, her ears could finally rest. She suddenly craved something hot to drink, like a cup of hot chocolate drink to sooth her tummy.
Luna Rosie caught the servant staring at her. “Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked.
“I want to drink hot chocolate. Can you please go to the kitchen and make one for me?” Mira requested in a pleading tone. “Please add a pinch of ginger powder. Thanks,” she added politely, wanting to distract her companion woman from worrying too much.
“What the hell? You still have the audacity to act like a diva at this current time when I’m worrying about my husband? Why don’t you go to the kitchen yourself instead of just lying there on the bed waiting to be served? Get up lazy pig!” Luna Rosie ordered vehemently.
Damn! The bitch and her mouth. Mira sighed. “I wouldn’t ask for hot chocolate if I wasn't dizzy right now. Blame it on my pregnancy symptoms. It is your unborn child who craves hot chocolate right now,” she reasoned smartly.
The mention of her unborn child and hot chocolate craving roused Luna Rosie from panicking. “OK, I’ll go down to the kitchen and make you one,” she finally relented.
“Thanks. Make it two cups because I know you need one for yourself,” Mira told her.
Luna Rosie exited the room and made her way downstairs to the kitchen.
Back in the bedroom, Mira sighed heavily and glanced at the window. She was trying to be calm but deep inside she was worried about Alpha Gideon’s condition. She hoped his injury was not life-threatening. ‘Dear God, please save my husband from death,’ she prayed over and over again.
A few minutes later, Luna Rosie returned to the room with a cup of hot chocolate drink mixed with milk. She placed the mug on the table and said, “Drink the milk now,” she commanded.
Mira rose from the bed, went to the table and picked up the hot drink. “Thanks.”
Luna Rosie ignored Mira and continued staring at the screen of her phone, waiting for her husband’s call, eager to know the update on his condition.
After Mira finished drinking the hot chocolate, she looked at Luna Rosie and suggested, “Instead of tormenting yourself, why don’t you call him now so you will know his condition? Do it now!” she urged her.
Luna Rosie no longer hesitate and quickly placed a call to her husband on her phone.
The call was not answered right away.
The two women were holding their breath, feeling tensed, bracing for the unthinkable.
Finally the call was answered by no other than Alpha Gideon.
“Hello my love, the pack physician is still tending to the wounds in my arms. Sorry if I got you worried," Alpha Gideon apologized.
Luna Rosie quickly handed the phone to Mira.
“How are you, my love? Are you okay? How’s your injury?” Mira bombarded him with questions.
“I’m fine. The physician already put medicines on the wounds in my arms, please don’t worry about me. I’m still alive,” Alpha Gideon replied calmly.
“I’m glad your injuries are not serious. I’m deeply worried about your condition. Please stop going to the battlefield anymore. Let your men chase the rogues. Come home so you can rest and your injury can heal faster. Please don’t put your life in danger anymore. I’m going crazy thinking about you and your dangerous situation,” Mira begged in utter despair.
“Shh, my love, please don’t worry anymore. I’m perfectly fine. The pack doctor is looking after me. I’ll be home soon before you know it. Bye for now. My mother and father are calling me. Talk to you later. Bye," Alpha Gideon bid good bye to his wife.
Mira looked at the phone for a few minutes, then finally handed the device to its owner.
“Crying huh? You sound like you are the best actress of the century,” Luna Rosie sneered. She envied Mira for talking to her husband. She wished she could say those heartfelt words to him personally, but the servant stole her thunder.
Mira ignored Luna Rosie’s sarcastic comment. She’s not in the mood to argue with her. She wiped tears from her eyes. She literally cried because she was afraid of losing him. The fear she felt for him was real. She’s not pretending. Those tears came from the bottom of her heart.
Mira lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling, wondering when she could see Alpha Gideon again?
But even if they saw each other again, her happiness would be short-lived because Luna Rosie is determined to reclaim her life.
The moment Alpha Gideon is back she can no longer enjoy his love and attention because after he knows about the soul switch, he will no longer look at her the same way. He will no longer hug and kiss her. He will stop caring about her because he can't love her the same way he loved Luna Rosie.
In his mind she is Mira the maid, and he will no longer call her my love. Their romance was cut short. She was not able to enjoy a whole lifetime with him.
Such a bizarre twist of fate that started great but will soon end up in tears and heartbreak.
She needs to prepare herself for the avalanche of pain that is coming her way.
If Luna Rosie reveals the truth to Alpha Gideon and he asks her if it’s true, she has no choice but to admit the truth. Even if she would deny—she can no longer endure the nonstop bullying. Luna Rosie will not stop tormenting her, making her life intolerable. She can’t continue living her life full of chaos. She wants to live in peace and harmony.
She was mulling over her future when suddenly Luna Rosie’s phone beeped, an indication that a text message was received. She watched closely as Luna Rosie read the message in silence. Then she saw the smile on her face.
“Why are you smiling? Who texted you?” Mira asked curiously.
“My husband texted me, informing me that he is coming home probably tomorrow or the next day,” Luna Rosie said. “Your happiness is going to end soon after he comes back because I can’t wait to tell him the truth about how you stole my body using your witchcraft! You’re so dead!” she added vehemently.
Here we go again!
Mira rolled her eyes, annoyed by Luna Rosie’s accusation. “Witchcraft? Hell no. I’m not a witch. You are accusing me of something I’m not,” she denied calmly.
“Just wait!” Luna Rosie said, smirking.
Mira shrugged. After hearing Luna Rosie’s insults and threatening remarks so many times, she already learned not to be affected by them. “Bring it on,” she said bravely.
Luna Rosie snorted and sat at the dresser table. She looked in the mirror and removed the veil from her face. “Damn, I really hate seeing your face in the mirror. You’re so ugly!”
All of a sudden, there was a screeching sound of something hitting the glass and to Luna Rosie’s horror, the mirror broke in half. A zigzag line appears in the middle. Surprisingly the glass didn’t shatter, adding to the bizarreness of the incident. “What the hell is going on?” she screamed in fright and jumped to her feet, moving away from the dresser table.
Stunned, she pointed her finger at Mira and said, “Did you use black magic on the mirror? Did you destroy it because you are mad that I called your face ugly?”
Mira's brows snapped together. She looked at Luna Rosie’s face in shock and confusion. “What are you talking about?”
