Chapter 19 Poor Soul

Chapter 19 Poor Soul
Mira cleared her throat. “Now you are finally back in your room. Aren’t you going to thank me for making all this possible?”
Luna Rosie glared at Mira, her eyes gleaming with hatred. “Hell no! Why should I thank you? This is my room and this is my life we are talking about! It is only fair that you return to me the life you stole!” she spat indignantly.
Here we go again. Mira sighed, rolling her eyes.
“Now give me back my body!” Luna Rosie demanded, her eyes flashing with anger.
Mira took a deep breath. “As much as I want to give your body back I can’t do it because I don’t have the capability to leave this body unless I commit suicide which is the only way my soul can leave your body. However there is a problem. If I leave your body and your soul can’t return to it on time, your body will die along with your unborn child. See—? Switching souls is not as easy as 123…” she explained in a frustrated tone.
Dammit! Mira is always right. Luna Rosie was even more furious. She removed the veil from her face and threw it on the floor with sheer force. “I hate wearing this annoying veil!"
Mira picked it up. “You will keep wearing the veil because the royal family will enter this room anytime and you can’t be seen not wearing it. That's the rule of this house and you have to abide by it," she reminded her softly.
“I hate you so much for turning my life upside down, Mira! I hate you for making me miserable!” Luna Rosie hissed, nostrils flaring.
Mira breathed deeply. The animosity flashing in Luna Rosie’s eyes was blinding, squeezing her heart painfully.
"Let's talk about our sleeping arrangements starting today.” Mira changed the topic quickly.
“I will sleep on my bed and you will sleep on the floor!” Luna Rosie stated in an authoritative tone.
Mira shakes her head. “No, I can’t sleep on the floor because I’m pregnant. I’m more comfortable sleeping on a bed. It’s your beautiful body and your unborn child's well-being that should be taken into consideration. I know you hate me so badly but you can’t deny that your body and your unborn child only deserve the best. So please stop bullying me. Let’s just cooperate with each other…” She paused, catching her breath.
Luna Rosie was seething in anger, annoyed that Mira always had valid reasons to counter her decisions.
Mira continued, “We need to compromise on each other. Since the bed is big enough for the two of us, we can both sleep on it. Don’t worry, I’m not much of a mover when it comes to sleeping. I won’t intrude into your space,” she assured her.
“And when my husband finally returns home from war, where are you going to sleep?” Luna Rosie asked, smirking.
“It depends on who Alpha Gideon chooses… you or me? Obviously it’s me because I’m the one who is pregnant and wearing your beautiful face. So you have no choice but to sleep in the servants' quarters inside the mansion,” Mira replied casually.
Luna Rosie’s face turned red in anger. “No way! I’m the real Luna Rosie, and I'm not a slave! You should be staying in the servants' quarters, not me!” she yelled in outrage.
Mira heaved a sigh. “Unless you can prove you are the real Rosie and I’m Mira...”
“I will definitely prove it!” Luna Rosie exclaimed in a determined tone.
“Then prove it!" Mira shrugged. Now that it came to this, and she has already lost hope that Sebastian will help her, she might as well accept defeat and just let things run their course naturally. If Alpha Gideon and the royal family choose to believe Luna Rosie’s claims, she will accept their decision with open arms.
She's so damn tired of dealing with Luna Rosie’s anger and outbursts all the time.
As long as they can give her a clean room to stay in, provide her with three meals a day, milk and vitamins for the growing baby in her tummy, she will be fine.
The question is can the royal family find a shaman as powerful as Sebastian that can perform a soul switch between her and Luna Rosie?
If the royal family can find such a powerful shaman, and she is back in her body, should she return to her old life and continue serving the royal family?
Nah, after the switch, they will surely kick her out of the mansion for good.
If that happens, it’s fine. The world is vast, there will always be a place for someone like her.
Now that she has already accepted her fate and has reconciled with her inner peace, whatever trouble lies ahead, she will face it bravely.
Luna Rosie went to the closet and looked at her fancy belongings, checking what was missing. “Something is missing! Where are my bags and shoes?” she asked.
Mira shrugged. “Nothing was missing, it’s all in your head,” she responded with a flat face, smiling inwardly.
“Are you sure?” Luna Rosie observed Mira’s face.
Mira folded her arms. “Why? Do you think I stole your expensive stuff? Why would I do that? Your wallet is filled with cash. I have delicious food throughout the day. I have your expensive bags, shoes and clothes to wear. I have everything I can ask for in this room so no need to steal…” she defended herself.
“My jewelry!” Luna Rosie rushed to the jewelry box and checked the valuable pieces of jewelry. It seemed nothing was missing. Mira was telling the truth or maybe she owned too many expensive stuff that she couldn't remember them all.
Mira smiled. “See? I didn’t steal anything…”
“Don’t feel too happy, Mira. You will have a taste of my fury soon after my husband returns home! I will definitely expose your evil scheme. Body snatcher!” Luna Rosie ranted, her eyes spitting venom.
“If you are done ranting, you can go to the kitchen and instruct the cook to prepare delicious food for the two of us. Just tell the cook that I'm craving delicious food for today. You can’t accompany me to the dining room because the royal family will not allow you to join us. So you better use my name to get some food from the kitchen. If you act naturally as my personal maid nothing could go wrong. Go now,” Mira ordered softly to finally put a stop to Luna Rosie’s ranting.
The thought of eating delicious food changed Luna Rosie’s attitude quickly. “Good idea!”
Mira‘s mouth curved into a smile as she watched Luna Rosie put the veil back on her face and rush out of the room.
The bitch must be really hungry after venting so much.
Poor soul.
