Chapter 16 Crazy Decision
Early in the evening, Mira dined with the royal family in the dining room. The atmosphere was pensive and gloomy and nobody was in the mood to talk because everyone felt anxious about the impending war against rogue wolves.
After dinner, Alpha Gideon and Mira retired early to their bedroom.
After drinking her milk and brushing her teeth in the bathroom, Mira donned her pajamas and lay down on the bed, waiting for her husband to finish showering in the bathroom.
Mira closed her eyes, recalling her conversation with Luna Rosie in the garden earlier.
Half an hour later, after finishing showering, Alpha Gideon finally lay down on the bed beside his wife. He planted a gentle kiss on her head. “Are you going to sleep now, my love?”
“Not yet.” Mira opened her eyes and looked into his eyes. “I’m worried about you. Anything can happen on the battlefield. I’m begging you one more time. Please don’t go, my love. I can’t bear it if something bad happens to you while you are fighting the rogue packs,” she said, resting her head on his chest, listening to the beating of his heart. Even though she was not the real Luna Rosie, she loved him deeply and considered him her husband in this lifetime.
“Shh, don’t worry too much, my love. My brothers and I will defeat the rogue pack and we will come home victorious. It’s about time to put an end to their cruel ways and send them to their demise,” Alpha Gideon said in a determined tone.
“Promise me you will return alive, okay?” Mira said, hugging him tightly. Tears shone in her eyes.
Alpha Gideon hugged her back and kissed her lips gently. “My love, I promise you I will return alive. So wait for me. Take care of yourself and our baby.”
“I will,” Mira responded, weeping silently.
“Let’s sleep early because my brothers and I will leave the mansion early in the morning before the sun appears on the horizon,” he whispered.
“Wake me up when it’s time for you to leave, okay? I wanna send you off with my love and hugs,” Mira said sorrowfully. Her heart throbbed painfully in her rib cage.
“Shh, my love, stop torturing yourself. I don’t want you to spend your time crying for me. Be strong for me and be strong for our baby. Now let's go to sleep,” he said, kissing her head affectionately.
“OK.” Mira obeyed and closed her eyes to sleep.
He wrapped his arms around her waist lovingly, spooning her.
A few minutes later, the couple finally drifted into a deep slumber, entangled lovingly in each other's arms.

The following day.
Mira woke up to a new day. She was disappointed because her husband was no longer in bed with her.
Sigh. Did he leave without saying goodbye to her?
But maybe it’s for the best because she might break down and cry hard when they finally let go of each other.
She glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. Whoa, it’s already 8:00 in the morning, she woke up late!
She got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to start her day.
After emerging from the bathroom door, her delicious breakfast was already waiting for her at the table.
Lena smiled. “Good morning, Luna. Breakfast is ready, please eat.”
“OK, thanks,” Mira replied. She eased into the chair and ate her delicious meal. After she finished eating, she went to the dresser table and brushed her hair in front of the mirror.
Lena approached her and said, “Um, Luna, I have something to tell you…”
“What is it? Speak out what's on your mind. I’m listening,” Mira said, putting the comb down.
“Um, although I’m happy that you gave me two weeks vacation, I can’t stop worrying about your condition. Who will take care of you while I’m gone?” Lena asked anxiously.
“Don’t worry about me. I’ll be on bed rest for three weeks, so I won’t be moving much. I will stay here in my room all the time, watching TV, eating delicious and nutritious food and performing some basic exercise for my baby’s health. Besides, I will choose one servant to be my temporary personal maid while you are on vacation,” Mira assured her.
Lena smiled. "I feel relieved after hearing your assurance, Luna. Thank you very much for your kindness,” she said gratefully.
“No problem,” Mira responded casually.
“Um…among the servants, I would like to recommend Sarah to be your temporary personal maid. I know her, she is capable enough to take care of you,” Lena suggested.
Mira’s forehead creased. “Sarah?”
“Yes,” Lena replied.
“No, it's fine. I already know who to choose as my temporary maid. You don’t have to concern yourself with that issue anymore. Just focus on your vacation,” Mira said, ending their discussion.
“Copy Luna.” Lena arranged the dishes on the tray and left the room.
Mira stood up and went to the window. She looked down expecting to see Luna Rosie tending to the plants and flowers but she didn't see her in the garden. Where is she? Ah, maybe she was assigned to other areas of the huge property.
It sounds crazy because she chose Luna Rosie as her temporary personal maid while Lena was away on vacation. She prefers to keep her enemy close so she can study the bitch's behavior.
The truth is…between her and Luna Rosie she has the upper hand because she was pregnant. Even if her husband chooses Luna Rosie they can’t punish her with death because hurting her would also be hurting the baby.
Since Sebastian is not willing to help her, then she has to make her own plans to counter Luna Rosie’s vicious attack, always painting her as the bad guy. Her plan has flaws but if she can execute it properly then she will have great advantage over that bitch's scheming.
She planned to use Luna Rosie’s plan to solidify her status in the mansion. Even though Luna Rosie got all the memories, she got the heir to the throne growing in her tummy.
In the end it will only boil down to who carries more weight in Alpha Gideon’s heart, she or Luna Rosie.
Who will he choose to stay by his side, the fake or the real one?
She heaved a sigh. If the worst happens and Alpha Gideon chooses Luna Rosie then she will admit defeat and focus her time and attention on her pregnancy so she can give birth to his heir safely. In that simple way she can continue loving him in her own little way.
Tomorrow, she will inform Luna Rosie that she has chosen her as her temporary personal maid.
She wondered how that bitch would react to the good news?
