Chapter 51: If You Haven't Had Enough, Continue!
"Rhett, you can't sign that! They're trying to brush you off with peanuts. Do they think you're a fool?"
The woman, who had just entered, wrapped her arm around Rhett's and started to whine.
This was the third party Emily had been waiting for.
Emily scrutinized her. She was sexy, but all Emily saw was tacky. She reeked of cheapness.
Violette stared blankly at the woman clinging to Rhett. "You, you two... Rhett, who is she? Have you been cheating on me all this time? You bastard, how could you do this to me?"
Violette had thought his gambling addiction was the worst of it. At least they once had genuine, beautiful memories together. Now she realized Rhett had betrayed her long ago, making her steadfast decision to be with him the biggest joke of all.
Before Rhett could respond, the woman sneered at Violette, looking her up and down. "So you're Rhett's wife? No wonder he didn't want you here. Look at yourself, so ugly. How can you compare to me? Right, Rhett?"
"Yeah, yeah, babe, I'm so glad you're here. Did your brother come with you?" Rhett asked eagerly, his arm around the woman's waist.
"Of course he did. Don't worry, he's outside talking to Dean. With my brother involved, Dean has to show some respect," the woman said, tapping Rhett's nose playfully.
Rhett kissed her, completely ignoring everyone else. "You're so capable. But why are you stopping me from signing?"
The woman leaned into him, laughing. "Are you stupid? Fifty-five thousand dollars for your son that you raised for twenty years? It should be at least a hundred thousand!"
Rhett nodded. "You're right, Mira Collins. I've worked hard all these years. It's not enough."
He looked at Emily. "You heard her. At least a hundred thousand dollars, or I won't sign."
"Don't even think about it! Have you ever taken care of the family? Did you raise the child? You bastard!" Violette shouted, ready to charge at Rhett.
Emily held her back. Violette needed to vent, but not now. "Alright!" Emily said firmly, surprising Rhett.
"Agreeing so quickly? You must be up to something," he said suspiciously.
"Shut up and sign!" Emily pushed the documents towards him.
"No way, money first!" Mira stopped Rhett from signing.
"Your account number," Emily said, pulling out her phone to transfer the money. "Sign, and I'll transfer the money immediately."
Mira released Rhett's hand. Worst case, they wouldn't give Emily the signed documents. Besides, her brother was outside, so Emily wouldn't dare try anything.
Soon, the documents were signed, and Emily received the signed agreement and proof of severing ties. Her expression turned icy.
"Violette, now you can let it out and hit him," Emily said.
Violette hesitated for a moment, then charged at Rhett, hitting him. "Stop it, you crazy woman!" Mira tried to intervene.
Emily grabbed Mira's hand, immobilizing her. Mira's face filled with terror. Atticus and Sofia, furious at Rhett's infidelity, held him down, allowing Violette to hit him freely.
Fallon wanted to help, but Emily warned her, "Fallon, stay put. Don't you see Mira can't move? You're old; don't make me hurt you."
Fallon, always selfish, didn't dare move, fearing injury. But she called out, "Mira's brother, get in here! Mira's being beaten!"
Mira snapped out of her fear and shouted, "Uriah, help me!"
Hearing the commotion, people outside rushed in. Violette paused her assault.
Emily smiled, "Violette, if you haven't had enough, keep going. Ignore the others."
Two groups entered: Dean and his followers, and Uriah with his men. Emily coldly addressed Dean, "Dean, what are you doing? Weren't we friends? Are you turning against me?"
Dean hesitated, then looked at Uriah. "Uriah, maybe we should let it go. We're all friends. She knows Alfonso."
"Dean, you've been tricked!" Mira shouted. "She used to scavenge for food and was barely fed. Later, her family found her, but she's just an unloved daughter. How could she know someone like Alfonso?"
Uriah laughed. "I've looked into her. No background, rich family, but no one likes her."
Dean's face darkened. He'd been fooled by Emily, embarrassed in front of his followers. He sneered, "Emily, you heard them. Now that you're exposed, don't blame me for being harsh. Come with me quietly, or face the consequences."
"Why talk? Just beat her until she learns her place," Uriah said, eyeing Emily.
Without waiting for Dean, Uriah's men attacked. Violette stopped hitting Rhett, who watched eagerly, hoping Uriah would handle Emily.
"Emily!" Violette tried to intervene.
"Stand back with Atticus and Sofia. Trust me," Emily said confidently.
Uriah's men charged, but within moments, they were on the ground, groaning in pain. Uriah, stunned, sneered, "Impressive. Let's see what you can do."
He called Dean to join him. "Don't just stand there. Let's finish this quickly."
Dean and his men attacked. Five minutes later, a tall, strong man burst in with a group, shouting, "What's going on? Do you know violent debt collection is illegal?"
He stopped, shocked by the scene before him.
